So a strenuous drive around the Pantanal and inland brings it all  except the local jaguar which is on holidays or taking a businesstrip. But after a few good pics it seems more of the same is all one can see, even after having gone 1 bridge too far needing some help from a local 4x4  to get the Kata out the ditch.

Back then to the ever present thread of armed robbery in downtown Corumba, to repair the Fords leaks, and then further down to Bonito for some swimming  in the luke-warm rivers, before looking up more sun on the coasts, first of Brazil’s Florianapolis and Ilha Santa Catarina, then Uruguay via the ‘poor’ province of Rio do Sul.

Here, it was an extremely kind Dr. Carlos – a converted surgeon- who showed all the secrets of good rice farming (with up to 12 tons of rice per ha of land, and this all just with excellent free lagoon water at 4.000l/second, 35 people, a lot of huge tractors, and … 10 ha of eucalyptuswood to dry all the produced rice every year  before and inbetween storage in huge silos). Just this farm is averaging some … 20.000 tons of rice each year, and visionary management will increase this even more, outbeating any Asian farm!

For the rice and Ilha, the whales and orca of Uruguay in the rain, and once more a bit of Argentina/Brazil in the sun, catch up around 11.11.11 before we leave the Americas after some 150.000km!

    See you later aligator
