Attack leaves man fighting for life

Detectives are treating an attack in Kilmarnock that has left a man seriously injured in hospital as attempted murder.
The 38-year-old victim was attacked by two men who entered a property in Hareshaw Gardens at 23:10 on Saturday.
He was taken to Crosshouse Hospital where staff described his condition as serious.
Police said the "extremely violent attack" had left the victim "fighting for his life in hospital".
Det Insp William McDicken said: "Officers are carrying out enquiries locally and extra patrols will be in the area to provide reassurance to the local community."
He appealed for any witnesses to contact the force.
