Plan for 'polluting vehicles' charge in central London

People who use "polluting vehicles" such as older diesel cars could soon have to pay more to drive into central London.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson wants an Ultra Low Emission Zone to be introduced in the capital by 2020 which would see motorists whose cars do not meet European emission standards pay £10 on top of the current £11.50 congestion charge.

The aim is to improve air quality in London, but some critics say it is too little, too late.

BBC London's transport correspondent Tom Edwards spoke to Mr Johnson and Baroness Jones from the London Assembly's Green Party.
