Kesgrave double stroke survivor finishes parkrun

A man who overcame two strokes, a hole in the heart and a broken back has shown "grit and determination" to complete his first parkrun.

Medics had told Ben Parker he would never walk or talk again.

He completed the 5km (3.1-mile) event at Kesgrave, near Ipswich, on Saturday.

Mr Parker, 39, said: "I'm alive. I've got to get on with it."
