Rape accused boy, 14, due in court over Shrewsbury attack

A boy of 14 accused of raping a 10-year-old girl in Shrewsbury is due to appear before magistrates.

The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, faces a further charge of attempted rape.

The alleged offences took place on disused land off St Michael's Street on 11 April.

West Mercia Police said the boy was in custody at Shrewsbury police station and would appear at Telford Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
