Tufted white leather chairs make up the seating area in the small lobby.

W Miami, formerly the Viceroy, is a slick, stylish hotel boasting the city's longest pool deck, with unrivalled views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami River. It’s also home to 15 & Vine Kitchen and Bar and FIFTY nightclub, fittingly found on the 50th floor and offering DJ-fuelled parties. Top architecture firm Arquitectonica created the 50-storey boxy glass building, while inside, LA designer Kelly Wearstler shows off with decorative abandon, mixing up zany Beverly Hills Rococo, cool modernism and Asian accents.

One of the trendiest spots for party people along South Beach’s glittering Collins Avenue. The SLS South Beach is home to Hyde Beach nightclub, which consistently throws the hottest parties in town at its indoor-outdoor poolside digs, as well as The Bazaar by José Andrés and Katsuya restaurants. Expect surreal-chic interior design by Philippe Starck, and whimsical décor. With the front desk tucked away in an alcove, the hotel’s common areas flow like one continuous party from bar to dining room, to back patio to pool.

The Wall Lounge nightclub is a great spot for a South Beach night out. Public spaces are sophisticated and fun on a massive scale. The entrance lobby has enormous brass screens, Mongolian fur-covered chairs, giant purple leather poufs and Damien Hirst and Jean-Michel Basquiat artworks on rotation among other contemporary masters.
