Police appeal after serious sexual assault near Grandsable cemetery

Police are appealing for witnesses after new information came to light over a sexual assault in Polmont.

At about 15:00 on 2 April a woman was subjected to a serious sexual assault in an area near Grandsable cemetery.

A statement from the police said the woman suffered injuries in the attack and described her as being "very distressed".

Officers are now keen to trace two men who were seen in the area.

The first man is described as 44-years-old, 5ft 4in, having a medium build, thinning greyish brown hair.

He was wearing a black waist-length zip-up rain jacket, dark coloured jeans and white trainers.

The second man is described as 45-years-old, around 5ft 6in with a heavy build with shaved short dark hair.

The man was wearing dark coloured jeans and jacket, zipped up and dark coloured gloves.

Det Insp Hugh Louden, who is leading the enquiry, said: "This attack happened close to a busy junction and we are looking for anyone with any information to get in touch.

"The victim is very distressed, suffering injuries from this attack and we are keen to trace the perpetrators as soon as possible."
