Gas has been restored to the majority of homes which were disconnected for nearly a week after leaking water flooded pipes.
Wales and West Utilities (WWU) said it was now working to repair water-damaged appliances in Nantyglo, Blaenau Gwent.
It said it had been a "mammoth effort" to reconnect 755 homes with 60 engineers at a time working 24 hours.
More than 150,000 litres of water has been pumped from about 10km (six miles) of gas pipes.
A WWU spokesperson said at 10:00 BST on Wednesday it was working closely with Dwr Cymru on repairing and replacing damaged gas appliances.
"We are now working on the hard to get at parts of the network in an effort to draw this incident to a close".
The community was thanked for its patience since the leak last Thursday.
The number of homes still without gas supplies had been reduced to 150 on Tuesday,
