Two canoeists who got into difficulty near Ullapool have been located safe and well.

Stornoway Coastguard said their canoe was blown away from the shore as it rounded Cailleach Head, near Scoraig.

The Stornoway ferry, MV Isle of Lewis, was diverted to help with the search. A coastguard helicopter and the Lochinver lifeboat were also involved.

The canoeists were eventually located on the opposite side of Gruinard Bay, at Mellon Udrigle.

Two other vessels in the area also assisted with the operation.

Caledonian MacBrayne said the Isle of Lewis was delayed by about 35 minutes.
