Estagiario Kaukito , began to practise capoeira with friends on the street , it starts his first steps in an academy with mestre Piaui in salvador Bahia - SUDESB ( superintendência de desportos do estado da Bahia ) Studant and graduated as FORMADO from the same historic academy "Associacao de Capoeira Mestre Bimba" salvador Bahia , where mestre Bimba criated their futures disciples. Kaukito has been recognized as an Estagiario by Mestre Cabeludo . He became the first Brazilian Estagiario of Traditional Capoeira Regional and the first of the Grupo Porto da Barra , in a Belgium counrty. He is responsible for all the success and growth of our group , in one more country of Europe. Salve !!!.
The International Grupo de Capoeira Porto da Barra, was established in 17 of May 1994 by our capoeira master ( Cabeludo ) with more than 5.000 members around the world , having Brazil as first. Than it comes ... Argentina, Australia, Belgica, Canada, Spain, Portuga, Norway, Sweden, Italy,England.
The philosophy of the Grupo de Capoeira Porto da Barra, is cultivate and preserve the tradition of the Capoeira Regional.
WHAT IS CAPOEIRA REGIONAL
Capoeira Regional is the only original martial art of Brazil. It was created and developed in the city SALVADOR-BAHIA-BRASIL, by Manoel dos Reis Machado (MESTRE BIMBA) the creator of this 'fight' sport, that combines dance and music with drums and berimbau. He also developed the 8 sequences of education, a series of complete and organized physical exercises, in a number of practical and efficient lessons for fast learning: Attack, self-defense, breath-taking kicks, acrobatic flips, hand stand, jumps and back flips. In the Grupo de Capoeira Porto da Barra, we work with this method of education, for the efficient development of the beginning ones in this martial art. We keep the traditional Capoeira Regional with the same philosophy and rules as Master Bimba created it.
Regional is a newer and more martially-oriented game. Regional it was developed by Mestre Bimba to make Capoeira more mainstream and accessible to the public, and less associated with the criminal elements of Brazil. While capoeiristas can sometimes play Angola-like, slow games, the Regional style is most often composed of fast and athletic play. On the contrary to what you might read elsewhere, Bimba's Regional style contains almost none of acrobatic movements so often associated with Capoeira.
