Verhalen van een Bosheks. UIT LIEFDE VOOR DE DIEREN!
21-02-2010

Due to the lack of law for animal protection in Romania anyone can kill an animal without being punished. Protected by this lack, people without conscience, without pity, more without respect, with cruelty hard to be imagined, are killing animals of any kind, without a particular reason.
For many months, the slaughter of homeless dogs from Romania has brought many tears to animals lovers.
Poachers without pity killed a hundred dolphins in few days in the Black Sea. The abuses against animals of anykind, the exploitation of wild animals at Black sea are a few exemples of atrocities from Romania, due to the lack of one law for animal protection in our country.
Who will punish the sick minds that are killing hundred of thousands street dogs, when didn't break "any law"?
With your help, we hope to convince the Romanian Parliament to adopt new protective law NOW. This petition, along with your comments, will be sent to Romanian Government, Romanian Parliament, the Presidency of Romania. ROLDA Staff
Petition:
We, the undersigned, believe the Romanian Parliament must be forced to adopt NOW a new humane law for animal protection.
The Stop Slaughter and Animal Abuses in Romania! petition to Romanian Government was written by ROLDA and is hosted free of charge at GoPetition. Contact author here.
Today's meetings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama with President Barack Obama, in the late morning, and with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in the early afternoon, underscore that Tibet remains a serious issue of global importance.
"Today's meeting is a clear demonstration of President Obama's support for His Holiness the Dalai Lama's efforts to resolve the Tibet issue as well as of his personal respect for him," said Lodi Gyari, the Special Envoy of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and chief negotiator with the Chinese government.
The White House has said that it expects the meeting between President Obama and the Dalai Lama to be "engaging and constructive," reflecting the recognition that there are serious and substantive issues on the table for Tibet, China, and the U.S.-Chinese relationship.
Whatever the weather, they'll be trying to kill something
While the rest of the population tried to get to work or stayed indoors in the warm recently, many hunts were out on foot giving British wildlife no relief during the wintry weather.
Knowing no cop was going to stray outside their patrol cars or police station, these people lost no time in terrorising small animals - even bolting foxes when the ground was too hard to dig with spades.
Pretending to 'trailhunt' in sub-zero temperatures along trails laid by people who leave no footprints is a bit obvious - You'd think that was a clue even the most biased cop couldn't miss, but where there's no will - we guess there's a way.
Would David Cameron Approve of this?
David Cameron is happy to sing the praises of the hunting community and has promised to repeal the Hunting Act if the Tories win the General Election. We would like to know if he approves of this callous, unprovoked and vicious attack by ten hunt supporters on two innocent people which could easily have resulted in serious and permanent injury. Violence is a way of life for these people whether it is directed towards animals or people.
Make jokes about Sabs and soap, but all the Lush soap in the world will not wash the blood off your kids' faces or your bloodstained hands...
You may have seen that those wonderful people at Lush, the cruelty-free handmade cosmetics company, are promoting the HSA (that's us!) through their high street stores and highlighting the fact that hunts are still hunting and we are still having to sab to save animals' lives. They have produced a bubble bar called The Fabulous Mrs Fox from which all proceeds (after tax) go to the HSA. This has got under the skin of the hunters, who feel their right to be the only voice heard on the subject is being challenged and they have run themselves ragged trying to smear the HSA with unsubstantiated stories and the same old lies and myths.
We are taking the hunters' panic and Lush's staunch support as a huge compliment and using every press opportunity to remind the public that hunts are still hunting and killing our wildlife, and that they are doing it now. This has disrupted the blood junkies well oiled media plan - they don't normally admit to doing anything outside their safe zone of November to March and a bit of a photo opportunity on Boxing Day. It might even expose the fact that they have been cubhunting for the last 2-3 months which no media outlet or law enforcement agency has been bothered to investigate (as usual).
The hunters and their hangers on are now showing their true side and the bullies and thugs, spurred on by articles in Horse and Hound and press releases by the Countryside Alliance, have been involved in physical intimidation and verbal threats to the premises and staff of Lush stores around the country. One of the Countryside Alliance's mouthpiecesl, The Sunday Telegraph, had been trying to run a spoiler story for the last month but put it on ice when they realised Lush had actually done some background factfinding on the subject and the HSA and spoken to us to get our experience of the normally very one-sided debate. They have a strong history of supporting groups who actually put their money and effort where their mouths are, rather than multinational charities - we and the animals we save will always be grateful to Lush for making a stand.

Three wolves released, one remains free after a pen was opened in an overnight action.
Monday morning, workers discovered three wolves had been released from a pen at the Wildlife Science Center in Forest Lake, MN. Two wolves have been recaptured, but one remains free. Only 350 of the rare Mexican Grey Wolves are known to exist.
On Sunday night or early Monday morning, person(s) unknown climbed the center’s front fence and used a long pole to pry open a latch on the Mexican wolf pen.
Predictably, the wolves captors have called this freeing of caged animals “ecoterrorism”. The executive director of the center stated - ““I’m completely convinced this is an anti-hunting group that is out to get me”.
The Wildlife Science Center is said to house bears, wolves, lynx, cougars and other animals used for “education and research”. The facility is on Broadway Avenue, west of Forest Lake.
As of this writing, no communique has been received.

Until the last flesh is consumed and no more animals are born to doom Our struggle is beside the weak respect for life is what we seek
Until the last is forced to entertain and no more animals are driven insane For all those beaten to a cower we lend our ...strength and our power
Until the last suffers in a cruel test and scientific fraud is finally confessed To those voiceless we give them word until their agonizing cries are heard
Until the last dead skin is worn and for our usage no animal is born Relentless battles we must fight until all others see compassion's light
Until the last abuse has ceased and existence is granted to every beast We won't abandon or give in because this war we intend to win.

A song has been launched to expose the pain, suffering and killings in the name of the fashion fur industry. Listen to the voices to the millions of helpless innocent animals living in torture, only to end up being skinned alive for fashion ! Skinned alive It’s not a ...bad dream It happens in real life They tear off our skin while we are still alive why do they take our souls away for coats to wear on winter days ? We are scared and afraid Facing our death alone standing in a line waiting for our turn look into our eyes we feel pain just like you but we cannot talk that’s why we need you Let’s get together Let’s give them a voice Get up, stand up Let’s make that choice The animal rights revolution starts We will fight for the beating hearts We have to answer their cry to survive And let the animals stay beautiful alive ! Born into deprivation Short life in a tiny cell Misery and isolation Angels forgotten in hell Our bodies laid aside, Our bones are thrown Now, our death is ready to be worn No protection and no explanation To this deadly pain, humiliation We have only you, please understand Save us from fashion’s cruel deadly hand Let’s get together Let’s give them a voice Get up, stand up Let’s make that choice The animal rights revolution starts We will fight for the beating hearts We have to answer their cry to survive And let the animals stay beautiful alive ! On January 6, 2010, in blatant disregard for the safety of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society crew, the Japanese whaling vessel Shonan Maru No. 2 attempted to sink the Sea Shepherd vessel Ady Gil off the coast of Antarctica.
Australian, New Zealand, and Japanese government officials call for the crews on both sides to remain calm. I can tell these government officials that there is no need to ask our anti-whaling heroes to be calm, they have been calm and resolute, and will remain so.
But I join the chorus of voices that ask the Japanese whale killers to stop their deliberate attempts to ram and sink our vessels, and kill our crew.
For anyone who has seen the video clips, and millions upon millions of people have, it is clear that the 500 ton Shonan Maru No. 2, aimed at high speed for the 16 ton Sea Shepherd speedboat Ady Gil, and at the last moments, to make certain of a collision, steered hard to starboard to deliberately cut our vessel in two.
There is not a doubt in anyone%u2019s mind that if one of our crewmembers had been in the front part of the Ady Gil when it was struck, they would have been killed instantly. It was a miracle that most of the crew, who obviously had no idea they were about to be rammed, were out on deck securing equipment when the Shonan Maru No. 2 slammed into them.
In an incredible display of cold and calculating violent illegal action, immediately after ramming the Ady Gil, the Shonan Maru No. 2 directed its high pressure water cannons at the stricken Sea Shepherd mariners, whilst ignoring the Ady Gil%u2019s distress calls.
The Ady Gil has been damaged beyond repair, and after repeated attempts by Sea Shepherd%u2019s new ship the Bob Barker to tow the damaged remains of the Ady Gil to the nearest port to asses what might be salvaged, the vessel has broken loose from our tow lines yet again and we have been hit with the gut-wrenching realization that we have no other option than to let it sink. Fortunately we were able to remove all fuel and oils from the Ady Gil before it began to take on too much water, thus preventing a catastrophic leak into the fragile marine environment. Sea Shepherd notified the relevant marine agencies about the sinking Ady Gil and has complied in full with all maritime requirements. All the while, the Japanese whaling fleet continues to ignore our calls for assistance.
This week the Japanese whaling business has sent undercover operatives to hire aircraft in Australia and fly illegally in Australian airspace to hunt for the Sea Shepherd ships, it has deliberately rammed and ultimately sunk one of our vessels off the coast of Antarctica, and it now seems clear that it has this week also focused an international cyber attack on our website to attempt to block us from putting out the truth about what happened and receiving donations from our supporters.
Sea Shepherd demands that New Zealand arrest the Shonan Maru No. 2 and its crew, and that the Japanese whaling industry repay the $2M in losses that resulted from the deliberate sinking of the Ady Gil by its ships.
These attacks are certainly a hefty financial blow to Sea Shepherd; we have lost millions of dollars as a result of the assaults upon us. But we will not flinch from our task to save the whales and the oceans in which they live. We will not pull back from our direct actions to save the whales in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary, and we will not pull back from our projects protecting the seals, dolphins, sharks and tuna, despite the fact that our funds are have been so drastically reduced. We will go to our supporters, and with their help we will grow bigger and stronger. We will not hesitate in our duty to save the oceans from the mercenaries of profit and greed that seek to destroy the natural world. (Steve Roest, Sea Shepherd Jan. 14 )
Japan to question New Zealand anti-whaling activist Peter Bethune on the Shonan Maru 2
A New Zealand activist who boarded a Japanese whaling ship in the Antarctic is being taken to Japan for questioning.
Peter Bethune, a member of the Sea Shepherd anti-whaling group, had wanted to make a citizen's arrest of the ship's captain for "attempted murder".
He has been detained on the Shonan Maru 2 since boarding it on Monday.
Japan has six whaling vessels in the Antarctic, where whalers and activists regularly clash during the hunt season.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirofumi Hirano told a news conference the country was preparing to bring him to Japan to be questioned under Japanese law.
''We would like to decide whether to file criminal charges against him under Japanese law," Japan's Kyodo news agency quoted Mr Hirano as saying.
'Rallying point'
Mr Bethune is suspected of illegally boarding the Shonan Maru 2 in the early hours of Monday morning by cutting through its protective netting.
He had said he wanted to arrest the ship's captain, Hiroyuki Komiya, for attempted murder, following a crash between the Shonan Maru 2 and Sea Shepherd's Ady Gil speedboat in January.
Sea Shepherd says the Shonan Maru 2 deliberately crashed into the Ady Gil, destroying the hi-tech vessel.
The whalers said the activists tried to tangle a rope in their propeller.
Mr Bethune also wanted to present Mr Komiya with a bill for the damage.
Sea Shepherd warned that any trial would be "a rallying point for an international campaign" against whaling.
Japan abandoned commercial whaling in 1986 after agreeing to a global moratorium; but international rules allow it to continue hunting under the auspices of a research programme.
It says the annual hunt catches mostly minke whales, which are not an endangered species.
Conservationists say the whaling is a cover for the sale and consumption of whale meat.
The BBC's Tokyo correspondent says few Japanese eat whale regularly, but many object to international pressure to stop whaling, which they see as part of the country's tradition.

Mink farmers call The Blueprint a “terrorist handbook” and claim armed overnight patrols of their farms.
Fur farmers are going on the defensive in response to The Blueprint - a list of fur farm addresses for activists. In an article last week in the Park Record (Park City, UT), one fur farmer stated in response to The Blueprint:
I have a target on my back.
The Blueprint - subtitled “the largest collection of fur industry intelligence to date” - is a 62-page document recently published by Voice of the Voiceless and Bite Back Magazine. It is an up to date, state-by-state directory of mink, fox, and lynx farms for activists. The document was released at the conclusion of the two-month Fur Farm Intelligence Project, where activists visited and compiled data on over 200 fur farms.
While the Park Record calls The Blueprint “a how-to guide for carrying out attacks against mink ranchers”, a look at the document shows this to be tabloid-style sensationalism. The document is made up of a short introduction explaining the value of names and addresses in legal animal protection campaigns, followed by a state-by-state listing of all known fur farms. Not only is The Blueprint absent of any “how-to” information on illegal activity, it is absent of any “how-to” information at all.
Collect data at each location relevant to legal campaigns: including species seen, farm size, and more.
Regardless, fur farmers spoken to in the Park Record claim the disclosure of their addresses has put them on the defensive. A Coalville, Utah fur farmer interviewed for the article stated:
The Blueprint is a little disturbing…. We spend many sleepless nights on the ranch.
Animal abusers appear to be so depraved, they reject the first amendment of the Constitution entirely. One mink farmer had this to say about the address list:
All this is is domestic terrorism.
The concern relates to a document of raw data, listing names and address of businesses. Calling this protected speech activity “domestic terrorism” places the burden on activists for the fur farmer’s guilt-complex, and operating a business the majority of the public finds morally abhorrent.
Despite being named in the article as the editor, I was not contacted for an interview to explain the intention behind The Blueprint.
A second paper - the Medford Star News - will be running an article on The Blueprint this week, and conducted a lengthy interview in which I was able to accurately represent my intention behind the fur farm directory. In number of mink farms, Medford, Wisconsin is second only to Morgan, Utah.
Animal abusers require only a little secrecy to do their work. The Park Record article highlights the power of “coordinative outreach”, and that a necessary step in dismantling any animal abuse industry is knowing the names and addresses that make up its architecture.

Lets first be clear here. My comment is being posted for the purpose of these words being read by the farmers themselves. To the farmer who made the comment “I have a target on my back”. What makes you (part of taker culture) believe that your life is more important than that of animals? You go into their homes (the woods/forests), set traps throughout their living room floors, shoot at them with your new killing toy from Walmart/Dicks/Outdoor World. You enslave animals on your farms under extremely gross conditions. Animals that watch as you murder the ones before them & live in fear, until it is their time to be executed. And for what? Because you the farmer is a greedy capitalist prick?!! Saving lives vs enslavement & taking lives. And you farmers (as well as your supporters) label Animal Liberation folks as terrorists??? Have you no shame at all? I know it’s hard to look beyond all the greed, especially being within a system than was based on greed & a country that was founded by genocide & terrorism. But goddamn it… Atleast try!
"What a difference a day makes" is the title and main theme of a beautifully produced motion graphics film launched by national campaign group, Animal Aid.
If everyone in the UK committed to just one meat-free day a week, this would result in greater carbon savings than taking five million cars off the road. Reducing the amount of animal products in our diets will also help to boost our health and, of course, help to end animal suffering. What more incentive do you need? So start with Meat-Free Monday and then try Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And dont forget to tell your friends and family!
What a difference a day makes was created by award-winning, London-based design and motion company, Taylor McKenzie (http://www.tmck.co.uk) and features Mobys iconic track, "In my heart", as the soundtrack to the film.
