But the dog in that story was safe, a decoy to lure in the depraved individuals that were soliciting the sexual activity. Three puppies from North Carolina were not as fortunate.
The puppies were just a couple of months old when they were surrendered to a shelter with “injuries”. After a veterinary assessment, statements taken from members in the community, and information from a witness, the unthinkable was discovered.
All three puppies had been victims of sexual abuse. Even worse, the offender was a 13 year old boy. The puppies were severely injured and one, a beautiful dog named Charity, was not able to survive the horrific damage that had been inflicted.
The two surviving puppies, Hope and Faith, remain in the care of the Eagle’s Den Rescue – the organization that took all three in initially.
The surviving puppies face numerous surgeries and a long road to recovery as a result of the abuse which they suffered.
The deceased puppy, Charity, is the inspiration behind a petition that has been created with the hope for passing a nationwide law that will make bestiality a crime and a felony.
Already, over 3000 people have signed the petition. Those that knew and loved Charity want to see this nationwide law passed. They want justice for the innocent life that was lost and for the ongoing pain and trauma that her surviving sisters continue to endure.
EWhy did the person that launched the petition chose that ridiculous picture of a terrier playing with a butterfly? Seriously... why go to such an effort to make things "palatable and politically correct?". How can one make dog rape palatable? What's next? use Scooby-Doo and Bamby? Again Leopard was shot dead by the villagers of Lohinga Kalan adjoining area of Aravali hills in Punhana block of Mewat District ( Haryana ) on 18-12-2010. OIPA in India - PFA Haryana demands strict legal action against all offenders, dismissal of DFO concerned, who failed to protect wildlife. It would be pertinent to mention here that a Leopard was illegally captured by a Farmhouse owner in Gurgaon District, FIR was lodged in Police Station, Bhondi but untraceable report was filed by the incompetent Police, after it another female Leopard was beaten by the villagers in Mewat in the presence of Wildlife officials - Police. No action has been taken by the concerned authorities. it may kindly be treated as notice under section 55 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 to all concerned. Wild animals needs more attention, Leopard killed again on 18-12-2010: Why and who ordered to eliminate body with melafide intention without proper postmortem from expert board - with out video recording?, integrity of all concerned officials became doubtful.
“The owner of the farmhouse set a trap and caught the leopard after it ate up his dog. We have taken the anmal’s custody and will release it into forest again,” a wildlife official said.
However, the villagers who informed the officials were angry as they said country villa owners have encroached on the forest area.They said the Aravali area is a forest area and wild animals are always present there. “The farmhouses have come up illegally and human beings have encroached the forest area. They should understand this and should not catch leopards,” said Ram Pal, a local. In March 2008 also, wildlife officials caught a leopard from the area and few months after the incident a leopard died in an accident on a national highway.
“Most owners don’t live in their farmhouses and come on weekends only. Leopard sighting is normal but they never hurt anyone,” the wildlife official said.
A pair of leopards, along with their cubs, had entered Dr Ajeet Gupta’s farmhouse (F-14) in the Aravalli Hills on Friday night, apparently to prey on his pet dogs. The leopard family killed one of the dogs and left its half-eaten carcass behind. The leopards returned on Saturday night for more prey, but the female got caught in a trap laid by the farmhouse owner.
Abdul Rehman, a domestic help at the farmhouse, said the male leopard and the cubs sat outside the cage all night trying to rescue the trapped mother. Yogender Yadav, owner of another farmhouse in the area, said the leopard family had never attacked humans and it was wrong on the part of the doctor to have kept his dogs in the open, thus attracting the attention of the big cats.

Today on 11-7-2010 morning one female leopard was captured by a DG's Farm Estates house owner with the help of local wildlife authorities, cage was fixed with their unofficial consultation, female leopard is injured where as two cubs left behind in the Aravali hills area of District Gurgaon in Haryana. The International Organisation for Animal Protection - OIPA in India and People for Animals (PFA) Haryana in the opinion that this leopard was forcefully captured adopting illegal methods, where as this animals never entered in any village nor in a city and she is not a man eater then why she was captured from her natural habitat?. Naresh Kadyan spoken with the CWLW Haryana for strict legal action against farm house owner along with all other involved in capturing, animal be rehabilitated back in their natural habitat along with her cubs. The discovery of her broken body didn't bring sadness but shame to the municipality and they did what each and every single Turkish municipality has ever done whenever we have uncovered one of such cases: Deny and Attack.
The first reaction of the Sincan Municipality was to threaten to sue us for dirtying the image of the Mustafa Tuna, the Mayor. Shortly afterwards Omer Demir, Lawyer of the Municipality called us to sincerely apologize for their threat and expressed how sad he was at this situation. He sounded very sad. We believed him. Today, in an strange twist of events the very same apologetic lawyer told us he intends to sue us for insulting the honor of the Municipality and for creating false news. According to Mustafa Tuna, the Mayor and Omer Demir, the lawyer, everything is a lie. No dog has ever been killed and raped in Sincan, the pictures have been fabricated by Let's Adopt!. Luna didn't exist, and if she did this happened in another country, as noone in Turkey would ever think of raping a dog.

Please contact Mustafa Tuna and tell him that his honor is intact, but that taking this stance is making him look foolish in front of the world. His priority shouldn't be to cover or deny the events, his main priority should be to improve the plea of stray animals in his municipality.

279 beschermde zangvogels in beslag genomen: de Natuurinspectie van het Agentschap voor Natuur en Bos (ANB) van de Vlaamse overheid heeft anderhalve week geleden bij een vogelhouder in Heist-op-den-Berg maar liefst 279 Europese zangvogels in beslag genomen die ongeringd waren of gefraudeerde pootringen droegen. De vogels werden illegaal gevangen en waren allicht bestemd voor de illegale vogelhandel. De actie van het ANB vond al plaats op 11 maart, maar in het belang van het gerechtelijk onderzoek werd het nieuws pas vandaag naar buiten gebracht. In totaal werden 234 ongeringde zangvogels gevonden en 45 met gefraudeerde pootringen. Het gaat om een tiental soorten Europese zangvogels waaronder vinken, staartmezen, Europese kanaries en rietgorzen. Vóór aanvang van de controle had de verdachte vogelhouder bovendien nog snel een paar honderd ongeringde zangvogels vrijgelaten . Aanleiding voor de succesvolle actie en het onderzoek was een opeenvolging van meldingen door Vogelbescherming Vlaanderen en geruchten binnen het vogelhoudersmilieu.
Vermoedelijk zieke buizerd van Berlare (op)gevangen: de vermoedelijk zieke of uitgeputte buizerd die al sinds vorige week langs de Donklaan in Berlare door omwonenden en vogelkijkers wordt gezien, is deze voormiddag met succes gevangen door een interventieploeg van Vogelbescherming Vlaanderen. De vogel kon blijkbaar niet meer vliegen en was gedoemd om te overleven op prooien die hij enkel op de grond kon verschalken. Gisteravond nog werd hij door een vogelkijker gespot toen hij van een kikker aan het eten was. Op het eerste gezicht vertoonde de buizerd geen kwetsuren of beschadigde vleugel- of staartpennen. De oorzaak voor het feit dat hij niet meer kon vliegen, moet wellicht gezocht worden in ziekte, uitputting of ondervoeding. Het was kinderspel om de buizerd te vangen. Met de inzet van twee personen en een schepnet kon het noodlijdende dier in enkele minuten tijd gevat worden. Ondert ussen bevindt de patiënt zich in het erkende Opvangcentrum voor Vogels en Wilde Dieren te Kieldrecht. Van zodra hij op krachten is gekomen en het vliegen opnieuw 'onder de knie' heeft, zal hij geringd worden door een medewerker van het Instituut voor Natuurwetenschappen en opnieuw vrijgelaten worden.

* De organisatie ACE-Charity in Spanje (Malaga) zet zich in voor spaanse honden in nood. In Spanje hebben dieren weinig rechten, ze worden niet goed behandeld en na hun bewezen diensten (jacht, fok, vechten, speelgoed voor de kinderen) of gewoon als ze ze zat zijn gedumpt op straat of in de verschrikkelijke dodingsstations die daar helaas nog steeds bestaan. ACE-Charity geeft deze honden een tweede kans door ze op te vangen in hun asiel en ze op de site aan te bieden voor adoptie in zowel Spanje, Nederland, Belgie, Duitsland, Denemarken, Oostenrijk enz. Er staan inmiddels meer dan 500 honden op de site en het asiel en alle opvangadressen zitten overvol. Ik denk dat we gerust mogen zeggen dat al deze honden een triest verleden hebben maar het onderstaande verhaal van Willie is wel bijzonder schrijnend. Temeer omdat er in het asiel (de Refugio) geen plek is voor Willie en ze hem daar niet de zorg kunnen geven die hij nodig heeft. Vooralsnog verblijft Willie dus nog steeds in het beruchte dodingsstation van Cordoba. De regel in de dodingsstations is dat alle dieren 10 dagen krijgen om geadopteerd te worden, als ze deze 10 dagen al doorkomen en redden, dan worden ze op de 10de dag afgemaakt. Willie zijn dagen tellen! Bovendien heb ik zojuist via een mailtje van een vrijwilliger aldaar vernomen dat de docent Willie morgen weer wil ophalen en studenten wil laten oefenen op dit hondje, dit omdat hij toch al blind is. Het is triest dat aan deze universiteit de meeste dierenartsen van Spanje afstuderen en ze dus klaarblijkelijk geen enkel respect voor dieren meekrijgen in hun opleiding. De oprichtster van ACE-Charity, Fabienne Paques, wil Willie morgen sowieso ophalen maar omdat er geen middelen zijn om hem te opereren en daar op te vangen zoeken ze met spoed een baasje voor Willie die hem zijn welverdiende gouden mandje wil geven en voor hem wil gaan. Uit ervaring uit mijn directe omgeving en uit de verhalen die ik als vrijwilliger van ACE hoor weet ik dat deze hondjes vaak intens dankbaar, lief en trouw van karakter zijn.

Een blind hondje als proefkonijn?
Dit is een heel apart maar intens trieste verhaal, het grenst aan het onwaarschijnlijke, maar in dit land is alles mogelijk.
Willi is een hondje dat blind is. Gedumpt in het dodenstation van Cordoba, totaal gedesoriënteerd, zo bang en eenzaam.
Een leraar van de Universiteit haalde hem eruit. De vrijwilligers die er vrijwillig de miserie dagelijks trotseren waren opgelucht. Iedereen was zo blij voor Willi want Willi was gered.
MAAR... niets was minder waar!
De reden dat Willi mee mocht was om studenten te laten oefenen, om hem te opereren aan de ogen, wetende dat er totaal geen oplossing meer was, hij zou nooit meer zien, maar Willi was voor hun een levende oefening, en dus werd dit arme drommeltje geopereerd door studenten. Willi was hun proefkonijn!
Na de oefening, na al die pijn, bracht de leraar het hondje terug naar het dodenstation. Willi wacht zijn lot af, hij nu wacht zijn 10 dagen af om te worden ingeslapen.
De arme stakker begrijpt er niets van, heeft pijn maar krijgt geen verzorging. Willi was een proefkonijn voor niets want zijn oogjes zijn nu nog meer beschadigd.
Ik wil deze kleine 3,5 kg wegende brokje ellende redden, hij is amper 4 jaar en ik wil hem een kans geven.
Dit is nogmaals het zoveelste bewijs dat een dodingsstation graag zijn "KOOPWAAR" op alle mogelijke manieren aanbiedt, alles kan in hun ogen, een hondje als oefening, als vechthond, als fokteef, als kettinghond, het is hen allemaal toch gelijk. Er is totaal geen controle op deze levende prachtige lieverds, zo machteloos staan ze eens in handen van de duivel. We geven niet op, we mogen deze strijd niet opgeven en moeten dit dringend veranderen. We vechten voor de dag die komen zal waarbij de dodingsstations ons zullen moeten volgen wat dierenrechten betreft.

Trouwe hond laat maatje niet in de steek
In de chaos na de verwoestende aardbeving zijn in Mito, Ibaraki beelden gemaakt van het aandoenlijke tafereel.
Aanvankelijk denken de makers van de video dat de gewonde hond dood is. Volgens CNN zijn beide honden inmiddels opgevangen. De gewonde hond krijgt medische verzorging en ook zijn loyale vriend wordt verzorgd.
