The love scene from the beginning to 1:30 has got to be one of the most classic movie scenes in cinema history. The music by Rudolph Kopp fits what you see visually to perfection. The dancer remains center-stage as you gradually pull back and see the rowers start rowing. The scene just keeps expanding. It's all SOOOO mesmerizing. So classic 1930's and C.B. DeMille. Whatever happened to movies?!? Thanks for posting. / ramjetrabbit

I watched this movie yesterday on TCM, I hadn't seen it in years, and I forgot how fantastic this scene and especially the music was.
Does anyone know if there is a full length recording of this, and if so, where I could get it? I'm obsessed with it and have watched the clip at least 50 times in just 2 days. ZombiesAteTheCOOn

DeMille Forever! This was one of his masterpieces. I see many lament the black and white. I am afraid what one gains with colour one loses something in quality and mood. I have lived through the transition of black and white film to glorious technicolour and CinemaScope along with the transition from black and white television to colour. There is beauty and depth to black and white that colour cannot achieve. Yes we see in colour but the 'Silver Screen' was also Art. Now it is just movies. / globalman

C.B. DeMille at its incomparable BEST. There was no one like him. This Cleopatra leaves all other attempts wallowing in the dust. Rudolph Kopp's music is SO appropriate and fits the scene here. It's an AMAZING classic, which should be studied by all serious film buffs and aspiring actors. One great regret is that it was filled in B&W. One can only imagine what the movie would have been like in color. Thank you, Mr. DeMille! Thanks for posting! / ramjetrabbit

This was always my favourite version of *Cleopatra*
Much better than the *Elizabeth Taylor* one.. That one was good, but nothing like this one.... *Claudette Colbert* plays the part like no one else could ! / ButterflyRoseX
