Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.
This is our new dog Kira, a cross between a water dog and a Podenko. She has been with us since February 7, 2024 and is busy winning our hearts. She is a sweet, affectionate dog who quickly adapted to us within a week. She is very quick and curious, a very different dog than Noleke.

Three ancient Manuscripts that suggest Extraterrestrial beings visited Earth in the distant past
These three ancient Manuscripts all describe similar stories where beings, possibly misinterpreted as ‘Gods,’ came from the heavens and ruled over the planet for thousands of years.
Is it possible that ‘beings’, misunderstood as ‘Gods’ came to Earth in the distant past, and ruled over the planet for thousands of years?
If intelligent extraterrestrial civilizations did visit our planet in the distant past would we find evidence of their visitation somewhere on Earth today? Well, according to these three ancient texts the most-searched for pieces of evidence are right in front of us and have been here all along, ever since ancient mankind recorded what they had seen thousands of years ago.
Even though mainstream scholars firmly reject this idea millions of people today firmly believe mankind has been visited by beings not from Earth in the distant past. According to some accounts these beings who were referred to as Gods intervened in numerous way in the evolution and development of civilization as we know it and interestingly there are numerous ancient texts that seem to back up this controversial yet popular theory.
The Sumerian King List, the Royal Canon of Turin and the Palermo stone are three extremely important ancient texts that describe a time in history when beings referred to as ‘Gods’ ruled over our planet.
The Ancient Sumerian King List
The Sumerian King list is one of the most interesting ancient texts ever found on our planet as it details with great accuracy the rulers of the ancient Sumerian Civilization. There are more than a dozen of copies of Sumerian King Lists found in Babylon, Susa, and Assyria and the Royal Library of Nineveh from the VII century BC. All of these are believed to originate from one original list believed to have been written during the Third Dynasty of Ur or even earlier.
However, the best preserved Sumerian King List is called the Weld-Blundell Prism which is a clay cuneiform inscribed vertical prism housed in the Ashmolean Museum.
Written on it is a comprehensive list of all Sumerian kings before and after the great flood. Interestingly it describes Kings who ruled over Earth living for thousands of years.
From the Sumerian King List, we read: “…After the kingship descended from heaven, the kingship was in Eridug. In Eridug, Alulim became king; he ruled for 28800 years. Alaljar ruled for 36000 years. 2 kings; they ruled for 64800 years.”
This ancient document describes a time on Earth when unknown beings lived for thousands of years and ruled over the ancient cities of the region. Researchers have not been able to explain why the unique list blends mythical pre-dynastic rulers with historical rulers who are known to have existed and as such have mixed feelings when it comes to the interpretation of the Sumerian King list.
Scholars today have only partially accepted the Sumerian King list suggesting that the lengthy implausible reigns described within the Sumerian King list are nothing more than mythology.
The Turin Royal Canon of the Turin King List
But if ‘Aliens’ misinterpreted as ‘Gods’ did in fact rule on Earth for thousands of years wouldn’t there be evidence of their existences in different cultures?
Well, the Ancient Sumerian King List isn’t the only ancient text that describes how ‘Gods’ ruled over planet Earth. The Turin Royal Canon is another crucial ancient text that describes the longevous reign of ‘Gods’.
The Turin papyrus –referred to by many as the Turin Royal Canon—is an ancient text written in the hieratic language (a cursive form of Egyptian hieroglyphics; used especially by the priests). Scholars believe that the original papyrus was a list that included over 300 names detailing precisely the years, months and days of each reign of the kings that ruled over the lands of ancient Egypt.
Interestingly, the part that resembles the Sumerian King List with great accuracy are the final two lines of the column, which seem to represent a resume of the entire document are extremely interesting and remind us of the Sumerian King list. They read: ‘… Venerables Shemsu-Hor, 13,420 years; Reigns before the Shemsu-Hor, 23,200 years; Total 36,620 years’.
The Papyrus of Turin clearly indicates the existence of NINE dynasties that correspond to the predynastic Pharaohs and among them are the Venerables of Memphis’, ‘the Venerables of the North’ and lastly, the Shemsu Hor (the Companions or Followers of Horus) who ruled until the time of Menes, the first mortal Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt.
The Palermo Stone
Also known as the Royal Annals, the Palermo Stone is considered by many as the world’s oldest history books. This ancient stone is the most important source for the study of ancient Egyptian History. While the exact date of its creation is still a mystery, it is believed to have been created sometime in the fifth dynasty. Just as the Ancient Sumerian King List and the Turin Royal Canon do, the Palermo Stone lists the mythical predynastic kings of Egypt followed by the pharaohs of the first five dynasties.
The Palermo stone is only half of a huge slab of black diorite which initially is believed to have measured approximately 2 meters in length and around 60 centimeters in height. It is currently displayed at the Museum of Palermo. The document, in hieroglyphic writing, accounts for 120 predynastic kings who reigned before the ancient Egyptians officially existed as a civilization. Interestingly the names of the mysterious “gods” and “demigods” appear in the Egyptian royal genealogies as well.
As you can see, there are several ancient texts that describe with great accuracy a time when beings, possibly misunderstood as Gods, came down from th e heavens and ruled over mankind. Moreover, similar accounts of ‘Gods’ that came down from the heavens can be found in numerous ancient cultures all across the planet. For some reason, mainstream researchers have decided to ignore these ancient texts and have put forward their own chronology of ancient Egyptian history and that of other great ancient civilizations.

Reference #14: The Stringfield collection contained an article titled “THE GREAT UFO COVERUP” written by Timothy Green Beckley. Some of the points of this article are certainly worth highlighting in this installment of Retrievals of the Third Kind. According to the article, former astronaut Gordon Cooper made an appearance on the Merv Griffin show on March 27, 1978. During the interview, Cooper made some rather shocking comments that rattled the live audience. The next day, phone lines were jammed as many across the nation tried to contact the producers of the show for further details. Towards the end of the interview, Merv directed the following statement to the former astronaut: “There is a story going around Gordon, that a spaceship did land in middle America, and there were occupants, and members of our government were able to keep one of the occupants alive for a period of time. They’ve seen the metal of the aircraft, and they know what the people look like – is that a credible story”? Expecting a joking reply, Cooper answered the question with the following statement: “I think it’s fairly credible. I would like to see the time when all qualified people not trying to make a dollar selling some weird stories could really work together to properly investigate these stories and either refute or prove them.” However, there were some things during the interview that even he wouldn’t discuss on the air. Fortunately, UFO researcher Lee Spiegel developed a friendship with Cooper, and got him to open up about what he knew. According to Spiegel: “Cooper admitted to me that he could have revealed more on the air, but he decided not to reveal his entire hand because he felt certain that some official eyebrows were going to get raised. He further indicated that he has several friends who were involved in the episode, and knew a lot more than he had about the extraterrestrials that had been found inside this crashed UFO.”
Spiegel was also successful in getting Cooper to discuss his other UFO related experiences. During the early 1950’s, Cooper was assigned to a fighter group in Germany. He clearly remembered the week when an entire formation of disc-shaped craft passed the air base on an almost daily schedule. Cooper continues: “The first day, a weatherman spotted some strange objects flying at high altitude and, before long, the entire fighter group was out looking at these groups of objects coming over.” However, according to Cooper, “unlike fighters, they would stop in their forward velocity, and change 90 degrees, sometimes in the middle of their flight path.” Within days, Cooper and his fellow pilots tried desperately to intercept these strange unknown craft, which were flying far too high, and far too fast for their vintage 1950’s F-84 and F-86 jet fighters. Obviously, the UFOs could out maneuver all American fighter aircraft. Cooper continues again: “We never could get close enough to pin them down, but they were round in shape and very metallic-looking.”
However, years later, Cooper would have another amazing UFO related experience when he was transferred to Edwards AFB in 1957.
What happened on a sunny afternoon when he was on duty is clear evidence that the United States government definitely keeps UFO related secrets from the American public and the world. Even after 56 years, the photographic evidence of this case remains “under wraps.” During the time of the incident, Cooper was project manager at Edwards. After lunch, Cooper assigned a group of photographers to a remote portion of the base. The photographers were equipped with motion picture film cameras, and were there to record precision landings. Cooper described what the cameramen witnessed: “While the crew was out there, they spotted a strange looking craft above the lake bed, and began taking films of it.” The craft was according to Cooper, “hovering above the ground, and then it slowly came down and sat on the lake bed for a few minutes.” Throughout the entire duration of this encounter, the movie cameras were running.”
“There were varied estimates by the cameramen on what the actual size of the object was.”
Cooper continued: “But they all agreed that it was at least the size of a vehicle that would carry normal-sized people in it.” Further statements from Cooper regarding this incident indicate that the craft was approximately 30 feet in diameter, shiny silver in color, and it extended three landing gear legs before touching down on the lake bed. The camera crew got within 20 yards from the craft before it departed. Unfortunately, Gordon Cooper was not outside at the base to actually see the craft himself, but he did see the motion picture films as soon as they were developed. “It was a typical shaped UFO,” he recollects. “Not too many people saw it, because it took off at quite a sharp angle, and just climbed straight on out of sight.” Apparently, Cooper did not initiate an investigation to determine how many people on base actually saw the craft. This was because according to Cooper, UFOs frequently paid visits to the base. After he had reviewed the film at least a dozen times, the footage was placed in a pouch, and sent to Washington D.C. (NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN). After a few weeks, Cooper expected to get a reply from Washington regarding what the cameramen had filmed……none ever came.
Cooper relates: “I’m sure there is a great deal of information up in Washington, if only somebody could just find it.” In the same article, movie producer Peter Kares claims that one of his contacts, who was an ex-Air Force pilot stated that he was present at the scene when a UFO was carried away. He was later harassed, because he refused to sign a pledge stating that he would never talk about what he had inadvertently seen. Others have also run across pieces of the UFO crash/retrieval puzzle. Within the same article, UFO investigator Charles Wilhelm stated that he talked to an electronics expert who was in the Army in the mid-1950’s. The witness claims that he was flown to Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey, to observe a special film. According to Wilhelm, “His job was to analyze from the film anything that he could define from his experience in radar technology. After arriving at the base, he was escorted to a guarded building where the film was going to be shown. When he arrived, there were already nine others, plus a Major who was setting up the projector. Before the film, all those all those in attendance were told to take notes and, when the film was over, never to discuss what they had seen with each other or with anyone else. He even signed papers to that effect afterwards. The film began by showing a strange, disc-shaped object with two guards, one on each side of the craft. The ship was sitting on two large blocks, and the technician estimated the craft to be 15 to 18 feet in diameter. Its surface was smooth, except for some tool marks around the door entrance. A ramp extended to the ground. The UFO was either silver or light gray in color.”
Next, the interior of the craft was slowly shown. “There were no meters, no radar screens, no buttons, and no windows of any kind. The only details he was able to see were some type of levers that looked like sticks. The interior was decorated with light pastel colors.” Then, the camera panned outside and off to the right. According to Wilhelm’s informant, “There was a table with three small bodies laid out. The film showed the bodies up close for about five minutes. They were approximately five feet tall, their heads were larger than ours, their fingers were longer than a human’s, their noses were sharper, their ears longer, eyes were closed but looked Oriental, and their body color was ash-looking. They were all dressed alike, in uniforms of yellow with black trimming. Their skin looked quite wrinkled, as though they had been quite old.” Charles Wilhelm insisted that the man who told him this story was absolutely telling the truth. The military contact stated that when the film was over, many who attended the screening had multiple questions. However, the Major refused to provide any details, only stating that the craft was found in New Mexico. Author’s special note: This is now at least the third reference to an unusual film being shown to military personnel which depicted a strange circular-shaped craft, with alleged extraterrestrial bodies. It is not known if this is the same film which was shown to multiple eyewitnesses, or if there were in point of fact three different films.

William E. Jones writes, “I thought your readers should be aware of the Cordell Hull story that alien artifacts were in our hands in 1939.”
In early December of 1999, the Center of UFO Studies received a letter from the daughter of the Reverend Turner Hamilton Holt:
“Today I want to share some knowledge that has been, by request, kept secret in our family since sometime in World War II. This concerns something my father was shown by his cousin Cordell Hull, the Secretary of State under Franklin Roosevelt.
“Snip, my father, who was young, brilliant, and sound of mind, told us this story because he didn’t want the information to be lost.
One day when my father was in D.C,. Cordell swore him to secrecy and took him to a sub-basement in the U.S. Capitol building, and showed him an amazing sight:
(1) Four large glass jars holding 4 creatures unknown to my father or Cordell [and],
(2) A wrecked round craft of some kind nearby.
“My father wanted my sister and I to make this information known long after he and Cordell were dead, because he felt it was a very important bit of information.
We have researched your group {MUFON} and feel it is the most reliable group in the country. We hope that you will research and search this information.
The jars with creatures in formaldehyde and the wrecked craft are somewhere! “Cordell said they were afraid they would start a panic if the public found out about it.”

Cordell Hull was one of the greatest statesmen of the 20th Century with absolutely no apparent reason to tell this story unless it was true, especially at a time when stories of flying saucers and their alien drivers had not yet become part of our culture.
Hull was elected U.S. Senator 1931-1937, as chairman of the Democratic National Committee, and became the Secretary of State under President Franklin D. Roosevelt in March 1933, the longest in American history until 1944, when he resigned because of ill health.
He was also offered the Vice Presidency and in 1945, Cordell Hull won the 1945 Nobel Prize for Peace.
Reverend Holt and Hull were both born in Pickett County and were cousins and friends. Holt attained a Doctor in Theology degree from Ashland Theological Seminary, and was a minister at the Shenandoah Christian Church in Greenwich, Ohio.
He was a community leader, and wrote a book entitled Life’s Convictions. He married Vina May Clark and they had three daughters. Two of the daughters claim they had been told about the creatures by their father. Lucile’s original letter essentially tells the story as her father told it to her when she was a teenager.
Unfortunately, Lucile said that she was too young to really pay much attention to what her father told her but Allene, the mother of Eloise, the co-author of this story was told the same story as her sister.
Both sisters assured us that they remember the stories independently. Reverend Holt described the entities in the glass jars as “creatures, a term common for his day…” He never referred to them as “aliens” or “extraterrestrials.” He never said where they came from.
Lucile stated that his experience happened in the “late 1930s,” probably 1939. The material that was nearby the less than four feet tall creatures was described as “silver metallic.”
She also remembers him referring to the material as being a “vehicle” that appeared to have been taken apart and was “in pieces.”
He said the color of this material wasn’t a color that he had seen before, but for the lack of a better word he used “silver.” Reverend Holt was not the sort of person to make up such a wild story and, the sisters feel that by telling the story they are following their father’s wishes.
Barbara A. Wolamin, “the curator U.S. Capitol building,” chuckled a bit after being told the story. She said, “She had never heard about these creatures being stored at the Capitol, but she did confirm there was a sub-basement that was divided into storage rooms back then.
She said that the building had been significantly changed over the years, so in a small way, part of Reverend Holt’s story checked out. After Cordell Hull left government service he wrote his memoirs in a two-volume book set.
No reference to this story appeared in these pages, in his papers in the Library of Congress.
Numerous experts and libraries were contacted and there has been no confirmation for the story. If four alien bodies and other world technology were retrieved in 1939, what would that do to our interpretation of the U.S.
Government’s involvement in UFO research? One would assume prior knowledge would have made the government ready for an event like Roswell and that the Roswell retrieval was more efficient because of that.
This is a story that truly deserves further investigation.

On July 20, 1965, the soviet Spacecraft ZOND 3 took some of the first ever high-quality images of the FAR SIDE of the Moon as the Soviet space probe made its way to Mars. Because of the fact that our planet is ‘tidally locked’ with the Moon, the same side of the moon constantly faces us. Previous to these missions, we had no idea what’s on the ‘other side’ of Earth’s natural satellite.
Zond 3 wasn’t the first!
Two years after the Soviet Union made history by launching Sputnik, it launched Luna 3, the third mission in their lunar program. Luna 3 reached the moon on October 7 when it started taking images of the far side of the lunar surface, covering about 70 percent of the unexplored side of the moon. The spacecraft sent back 17 noisy images before operators in the Soviet Union lost contact on October 22.
Even though the images sent back from Luna 3 weren’t the best, it was the first set of images of the moon’s far side, a first for the Soviets and mankind
Zond 3 would complement the exploring Luna 3 did. Zond 3 was meant to reach Mars, and photographing the far side of the moon was a secondary objective for the Soviet Spacecraft. The Soviets equipped the Zond 3 with extremely useful technologies, equipping the spacecraft with two cameras, infrared and ultraviolet spectrometers, a magnetometer, a cosmic ray detector, a solar particle detector, and a meteoroid detector. Zond 3 made its way to the moon 33 hours after being launched on July the 18th, 1965. Just as it passed the far side of the moon, its cameras started exploring the far side of Earth’s satellite, focusing on the 30% that its predecessor, Luna 3 had missed, taking one picture every two minutes and 15 seconds for a total period of one hour and 8 minutes.
Nine days after Zond 3 had taken the images, they arrived to Soviet operators on Earth. The images sent back to Earth were among the first which allowed researchers to take a peek at the numerous geological formations on the far side of Earth’s natural satellite, but among them, one image caused quite a stir among researchers and Ufologists.
In one of the images of the far side of the moon, a mysterious tower-shaped structure can clearly be seen protruding the lunar surface. In its vicinity, no other similar structures are seen, and Ufologists believe that the mysterious ‘tower’ seen in the Zond 3 image is a crucial piece of evidence supporting their theory that there are alien structures on the far side of Earth’s moon.
The image of the Tower on the moon was obtained on 20 July 1965 by the Russian vehicle Zond 3. At the time, the probe was about 10,000 kilometers above the Moon.
So far, the mysterious structure on the far side of the moon is only one of the many that have been found to date according to Ufologists and UFO hunters.
Several Monoliths across our Solar System?
While some of these structures can be rationally explained as natural geological formations on the surface of the moon, there are some that simply defy every explanation. Is it possible that the tower on the far side of the moon really has an ‘Alien’ origin? And is it possible that there are similar structures across the moon?
Looking at the image from the far side of the moon and the mysterious structure, we cannot help and compare it to the mysterious monolith on Mars’ moon Phobos.
When the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) spacecraft was mapping the small moon of Mars, Phobos, and sent its incredible images from the small, potato-shaped moon back to Earth satellite Ufologists had a field day speaking about the mysterious structure that was clearly visible on the surface of Phobos. There in plain view, a large rectangular object undoubtedly resembling an artificial monolith stands alone. Nothing in the vicinity has a similar shape or size, so the question is, what is it? What is its purpose? And who placed it there?
Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the surface of the moon, surprised many by saying, “We should visit the moon of Mars, there’s a monolith there, a very unusual structure on this little potato shaped object that revolves around Mars once every seven hours. When people find out about that they are going to say, “Who put that there? Who put that there?” Well, the universe put it there, or if you choose God put it there.’
Astronomers didn’t hesitate to quickly offer and explanation about the mysterious structure that had Ufologists scratching their heads. According to astronomers and specialists in images, it’s just another “Extraterrestrial rock”.

Witness report:Virginia Beach, VA – On the evening of 3/9/2015 around 8:50pm upon leaving the Hair Cuttery at Brenneman Farms Marketplace, I filmed these pulsating red/orange orbs in the night sky. As I walked to my car, I looked up and noticed a number of pulsating orbs directly over head. At first I thought they might be drones or chinese lanterns. It took me a moment to get my phone camera rolling, at which point the largest group of orbs had faded out into the NE sky. The orbs were moving from the SW horizon, in procession, gradually gaining altitude until they simply faded out in the NE sky. Each orb faded out in the same location. As the orbs faded their diameter gradually decreased. The orbs made no sound and never changed shape, with the exception of decreasing in diameter. In total, I would estimate having viewed 10+ orbs over a period of five minutes. There were two other witnesses in a car nearby. They pulled up next to me as the sighting ended and can be heard in the background. One lady believed the orbs might be drones. This is a possibility as there are numerous military facilities nearby.

De eerste verhalen over het geluid doken op in de omgeving rond het Engelse Bristol in de jaren zeventig. Sindsdien kwamen er ook meldingen uit de rest van Groot-Brittannië en de Verenigde Staten.
Op een Facebookpagina staat dat ‘geavanceerde satelliettechnologie’ wordt gebruikt om ‘mensen te martelen door geluiden en stemmen naar het brein te sturen, wat invloed heeft op het energieniveau en de emotionele staat van de mens’. Volgens sommigen hebben zelfs massale schietpartijen te maken met de bromtoon.
Oorsuizen
Het tijdschrift had een gesprek met Glen MacPherson, de maker van de World Hum Map, maar zit na het interview met meer vragen dan antwoorden. Onlangs schreef The Independent over een studie waaruit blijkt dat de bromtoon vaker wordt gehoord in de buurt van geologische fenomenen diep onder het wateroppervlak en het gevolg kan zijn van ‘microseismische activiteit’ op de zeebodem.
Er zijn ook mensen die zeggen dat de bromtoon te wijten is aan oorsuizen. Maar volgens het tijdschrift kan oorsuizen de vele waarnemingen niet verklaren. Ook David Deming van de Universiteit van Oklahoma stelde vast dat het geluid losstaat van oorsuizen. Waar komt het dan vandaan?

De film is gemaakt door Steven Greer, oprichter van het Disclosure Project, en Emmy-winnaar Amardeep Kaleka. Volgens het tweetal is de aarde al meerdere keren bezocht door buitenaardse wezens, maar is dit geheimgehouden onder druk van een militaire, industriële en financiële elite.
De documentaire toont onder meer getuigenverklaringen van vooraanstaande wetenschappers en officiële documenten die het bestaan van aliens zouden aantonen.
De makers claimen achterhaald te hebben welke alternatieve energie buitenaardsen gebruiken om in korte tijd immense afstanden af te leggen. Greer stelt dat ook de mensheid die technologie kan gebruiken.
“Dit is het belangrijkste verhaal ooit dat nooit verteld werd,” zei hij. “Dankzij deze kennis over de werking van UFO’s, die door overheden systematisch verborgen is gehouden, zullen olie en kernenergie overbodig worden. Dat is dan ook de belangrijkste reden waarom regeringen deze informatie nooit openbaar maakten.”

Enkele dagen geleden werd vanuit het ISS ruimtestation een enorme groene straal ontdekt vanaf de aarde, alsof er een UFO vertrekt die een spoor achterlaat.
Een paar dagen daarna ontdekt een Youtube gebruiker dat er vanaf het Australische onderzoeksstation op Antarctica een groene laserstraal de ruimte in wordt geschoten.
Vanaf het ISS ruimtestation heb je goed zicht op de aarde en er worden ook permanent opnames van gemaakt.
Op 17 april 2016 valt er iets vreemds te zien op die beelden, want er komt iets vanaf de aarde.
Het lijkt alsof er een UFO met grote snelheid vanaf de aarde de ruimte in schiet en daarbij een soort groen spoor achterlaat.
De straal die de ruimte in schiet lijkt misschien niet zo groot, maar volgens experts moet het een enorme UFO zijn geweest, want die straal is honderden kilometers dik.
Die UFO zou dan afkomstig zijn ergens uit de oceaan (hierover publiceren wij separaat morgen meer, stay tuned!)
Enkele dagen later wordt er door de inmiddels bekende Youtube gebruiker Streetcap1 ook een groene straal vastgelegd.
Nu doen ze daar niet echt geheimzinnig over, want deze lasterstraal komt ook voor op de website van het onderzoeksteam.
Wat er alleen niet bij wordt verteld, is waar die laserstraal toe dient.
Het zou natuurlijk voor wetenschappelijk onderzoek kunnen zijn, maar omdat er net ervoor ook een soort vreemde straal vanuit het ISS is waargenomen en Antarctica natuurlijk bekendstaat als een gebied waar ook de Nazi’s zich nog steeds bevinden met hun buitenaardse technologie, is het niet zo vreemd om vragen te stellen.

De laatste tijd gaat bijna alle aandacht uit naar ruimtesonde New Horizons die de geheimen van dwergplaneet Pluto onthult. Maar laten we vooral niet vergeten dat er nog veel meer prachtige ruimtemissies gaande zijn. Bijvoorbeeld Rosetta die nog altijd rond komeet 67P/C-G cirkelt.
Spectaculair Recent maakte Rosetta spectaculaire foto’s van de komeet. Op het moment dat deze foto’s gemaakt werden, was de afstand tussen de komeet en Rosetta slechts 12 kilometer. Het betekent dat er heel wat details te zien zijn! Op de foto hieronder zien we een deel van het gebied dat onderzoekers aanduiden met de naam ‘Imhotep’. Het landschap is allesbehalve saai. Er zijn vrij gladde vlaktes en er liggen keien. Onderschat de grootte van die keien vooral niet. Rechts zie je een aantal keien, waaronder de kei ‘Cheops’ die zo’n 25 meter hoog is!

Verder weg en dichterbij Nadat Rosetta deze foto’s maakte, vergrootte de sonde de afstand tussen zichzelf en de komeet flink. Van een afstand van zo’n 1000 kilometer bestudeerde deze recentelijk de atmosfeer en het staartje van de komeet. Deze week heeft Rosetta de afstand tot de komeet weer verder verkleind.
Rosetta zal komeet 67P/C-G nog tot september bestuderen. Daarna komt de missie van Rosetta ten einde. Waarschijnlijk krijgt Rosetta dan opdracht om af te dalen naar het oppervlak van de komeet.

The story behind the famous “Wow!” signal has an eerie quality that has inspired countless science fiction alien encounters and is often lauded as one of the strongest pieces of evidence that we are, in fact, not alone in the universe.
However, its “alien intelligence” authenticity has been questioned since that fabled night on Aug. 15, 1977 at 10:16 p.m. ET when astronomer Jerry Ehman used the Ohio State University’s Big Ear radio telescope to sweep the skies for signals that may have originated from an extraterrestrial civilization.
On that night, Ehman found something. And since that night, astronomers have been trying to figure out what it means.
While pointed in the direction of 3 star systems named Chi Sagittarii, in the constellation of Sagittarius, Big Ear detected a 72 second radio wave burst, a signal far stronger than background noise. On the observatory’s computer printout, Ehman circled the burst with the infamous annotation “Wow!”
This excitement wasn’t an overstatement, it was this kind of signal he was looking for, the kind of signal astronomers thought a technologically-capable alien civilization would produce.
The Big Ear printout contains a bunch of apparently random numbers and letters, but Ehman’s red pen circles a cluster of digits “6EQUJ5" with other circles around a "6" and "7" on separate columns. This particular code first uses the numbers 1-9 and then the alphabet A-Z to denote signal strength. As the burst suggests, the signal strength hit “6" and then blasted through the letters reaching a peak of “U” before subsiding back into the numerical scale at "5." There was then a slight wave trailing the main signal (hence the circled “6″ and “7″). The wave profile of the “Wow!” signal is graphically envisaged here.
However, since that day in 1977, a detection of a signal of that strength has not been replicated. Even after the SETI Institute was founded in 1984, and countless efforts have been made to find another radio burst like the “Wow!” signal, astronomers have been faced with silence in the cosmos; a problem that has only served to intensify the Fermi Paradox unease.
Now, Antonio Paris of St Petersburg College, Fla., an ex-analyst of the US Department of Defense, hopes to solve the mystery and he suspects that an entirely different cosmic phenomenon is to blame.
In an interview with TheGuardian.com, Paris says that his investigative background sent him on a mission to find another possible explanation for the “Wow!” signal and he tracked down two “suspicious” comets that may have been in the vicinity of Chi Sagittarii on Aug. 15, 1977. Interestingly, these comets, called 266P/Christensen and 335P/Gibbs, were only discovered in 2006 and 2008, so weren’t considered as possible reasons for the signal in 1977 as no one knew of their existence.
But what have comets got to do with errant radio bursts?
The “Wow!” signal was recorded in the 1420MHz radio frequency band. It just so happens that cosmic neutral hydrogen naturally radiates at this frequency -- it is therefore an abundant signal that is commonly used in astronomy. This is no coincidence; through alien-hunting logic, should there be an extraterrestrial species wanting to make contact, what frequency would they use? Firstly, as we only have ourselves to use as an alien template, we have to assume that hypothetical aliens will likely use radio waves. Secondly, if they are using radio waves to communicate with us, they would likely use a frequency that other intelligent aliens would be naturally tuned into. 1420MHz is the “universal water cooler,” where intelligent life could check into and potentially chat.
The bummer is, however, that comets contain copious amounts of hydrogen in their atmospheres. Say if the “Wow!” signal was actually caused by the chance passage of a comet through the radio telescope’s field of view, packing a powerful radio surge?
In 2017, Comet 266P will once again orbit in front of Chi Sagittarii and Comet 335P will do so the following year and Paris wants to test this hypothesis. Unfortunately, existing radio telescopes are already booked, so he has to buy or build his own radio antennae in time for the cosmic encounters. He has a crowdfunding campaign set up to raise the $20,000 he needs and is most of the way there.
It may be a long shot, but as is the way with many astronomical studies, all possible phenomena need to be ruled out before a discovery is made and, should Paris’ experiment prove the “Wow!” signal was in fact caused by interference by an undiscovered comet, the universe will get quieter once again, making the Fermi Paradox even more bewildering.

I was taking pictures of the full moon of april 2016, at 20:20 local time.
The weather was very clear, a beautiful night.
Didn’t see anything different from the lens, and got surprised while checking the pictures from the camera screen. In one of the pictures I noticed a strange object in the left side of the moon.
In this time of the year in Brazil, the sun falls very early, so when the picture was taken, we were at about 2:30 hours at dark night. I concluded that this object should be in a very high altittude to reflect the sun light, and I don’t know or believe an animal would fly that high. Also it seems not to have own light.

For Yuri Milner, the Russian Internet entrepreneur and billionaire philanthropist who funds the world’s richest science prizes and searches for extraterrestrial intelligence, the sky is not the limit—and neither is the solar system. Flanked by physicist Stephen Hawking and other high-profile supporters today in New York, Milner announced his most ambitious investment yet: $100 million toward a research program to send robotic probes to nearby stars within a generation.
“The human story is one of great leaps,” Milner said in a statement released shortly before the announcement. “55 years ago today, Yuri Gagarin became the first human in space. Today, we are preparing for the next great leap—to the stars.”
“Breakthrough Starshot,” the program Milner is backing, intends to squeeze all the key components of a robotic probe—cameras, sensors, maneuvering thrusters and communications equipment—into tiny gram-scale “nanocraft.” These would be small enough to boost to enormous speeds using other technology the program plans to help develop, including a ground-based kilometer-scale laser array capable of beaming 100-gigawatt laser pulses through the atmosphere for a few minutes at a time, and atoms-thin, meter-wide “light sails” to ride those beams to other stars. Each pinging photon of light would impart a slight momentum to the sail and its cargo; in the microgravity vacuum of space, the torrent of photons unleashed by a gigawatt-class laser would rapidly push a nanocraft to relativistic speeds.
"Without new methods of propulsion we simply cannot get very far," Hawking said at the announcement. "Light is the most pragmatic technology available."
Deployed by the thousands from a mothership launched into Earth orbit, each nanocraft would unfurl a sail and catch a laser pulse to accelerate to 20 percent the speed of light—some 60,000 kilometers per second. Using a sophisticated adaptive-optics system of deformable mirrors to keep each pulse coherent and sharp against the blurring effects of the atmosphere, the laser array would boost perhaps one orbiting nanocraft per day. Each laser pulse would contain as much power as that produced by a space shuttle rocketing into orbit.
The array would need to be built at a dry, high-altitude location in the Southern Hemisphere, perhaps on a peak in Chile, South Africa or even Antarctica—somewhere within sight of Breakthrough Starshot’s primary targets: the twin stars of Alpha Centauri, which at 4.37 light-years away make up the nearest neighboring star system to our own. NASA has already sent five spacecraft on trajectories taking them beyond our solar system, although even the fastest of these would require more than 30,000 years to reach Alpha Centauri. The nanocraft would make that same interstellar crossing in just 20 years. With no onboard ability to decelerate, they would briefly gather data about any planets in the Alpha Centauri system and beam it back toward Earth before plunging deeper into interstellar darkness and out of communication range.
"If this mission comes to fruition it will tell us as much about ourselves as about Alpha Centauri," Milner said at the press conference.
Breakthrough Starshot is the latest of Milner’s Breakthrough Initiatives, a multidisciplinary collection of projects marshaling private funds to address existential questions about life in the universe. Last year, also with Hawking, he announced the $100-million, 10-year Breakthrough Listen initiative to search more than a million stars and a hundred galaxies for signals from alien civilizations as well as an accompanying $1-million Breakthrough Message initiative to compose potential cosmic communiqués to broadcast to any attentive extraterrestrials. Like Breakthrough Starshot, which involves the most sizeable lump sum ever dedicated purely to achieving interstellar flight, these other initiatives offered similar financial sea changes for their respective fields—which due to their extremely speculative nature have long languished in the hinterlands of federal science funding.
BIG PLANS, SMALL SPACECRAFT
Serious planning for the project began about a year ago, when Milner consulted experts to consider options for practical interstellar travel. One was Avi Loeb, an astrophysicist at Harvard University and new chairman of Breakthrough Starshot’s advisory board who has a reputation for performing groundbreaking work on unconventional research topics.
Loeb and his fellow consultants noted that we already routinely accelerate subatomic particles to near light-speed in modern particle physics experiments, and that the smaller a spacecraft is, the more likely it can be made to travel at an extreme velocity. “Strip an iPhone from its case and interface, and the electronics—including the camera and the communications device—weigh on the order a gram,” Loeb says. “That’s almost everything you need for a nanocraft, and we practically have it right now, thanks to the ongoing miniaturization of electronics.”
After evaluating and dismissing propulsion options as exotic as rockets fueled by antimatter annihilation or nuclear fusion reactions, the consultants narrowed their considerations to laser-powered light sails, a concept dating back to the 1960s. They focused on the recent work of Philip Lubin, a physicist at the University of California, Santa Barbara, who was just completing a “roadmap” for developing minuscule, laser-powered interstellar spacecraft as part of a modest NASA-funded study. With minor tweaks, that roadmap offered a notional template for Breakthrough Starshot, and Lubin is now one of the project’s key scientists.
“There are two axes to the problem of interstellar flight,” Lubin says. “Things like antimatter or fusion rockets are all on the ‘real’ axis. The known laws of physics tell us they are realistic solutions, even if we don’t know how to realize them. Things like warp drives and wormholes are on the ‘imaginary’ axis—these are what I would call fictional solutions, because no one knows how to do them.” The laser propulsion concept Lubin detailed in his roadmap rates high on his "real" axis, he says, because “it is both realistic and realizable.”
Lubin’s roadmap laid out myriad obstacles that any laser-propelled interstellar mission would have to overcome, such as linking many smaller lasers into a kilometer-scale array and engineering lightweight, gossamer-thin sails strong enough to endure the array’s gigawatt-scale pulses as well as persuading policy makers to allow the construction of a laser system that could in principle be used as a weapon. The probes will also need to transmit observations back to Earth using onboard lasers with just a few watts of power—a problem potentially solvable by using the giant Earthbound laser array as a receiver. But the biggest obstacle of all was simply a matter of cost: At an estimated present-day price of approximately $10 per watt of laser power, building and operating Breakthrough Starshot’s 100-gigawatt array today could cost as much as $1 trillion.
But as steep as that sounds now, the market prices of just 10 years ago would have rendered it a hundred times more expensive. Driven by demand in consumer high-speed telecommunications systems as well as defense-related projects, the cost of critical technologies for a gigantic laser array are now decreasing by approximately a factor of 2 every 18 months, Lubin says. Those exponential rates of change suggest that in 10 years a giant laser array’s per-watt cost would drop from $10 to 10 cents. “Breakthrough Starshot is really about choosing core technologies to scale up massively, and looking at what prevents or enables that scaling,” Lubin says. “If things are static for the next 30 years in terms of cost per watt, we will be in big trouble.”
According to Loeb, however, another obstacle is a more subtle and social phenomenon: the “giggle factor,” or the tendency for far-out concepts to be laughed off. “Any revolution in science or technology has an initial phase where people laugh at it,” Loeb says. “Sometimes the laughter is inspired by valid criticisms of an argument, but can also be because something appears very different and strange…. What is certain is that the mainstream scientific community that works on research you are not supposed to laugh about—research that has a giggle factor of zero, let’s say—keeps making major mistakes in giggling about the wrong things.”
“We are serious people,” Loeb continues. “We will find whether this project is doable or not, and if it is not, we will admit that and move on.”
CENTAURI DREAMS
Following Lubin’s tweaked roadmap, most of Milner’s $100 million is meant to fund research grants to develop solutions to about 20 major technical obstacles identified by the project. Those solutions would then feed into a prototype system that could perhaps be built for a few hundred million dollars more. Provided that photonics and electronics technologies continue their trends of plummeting costs and soaring performance, assembling a fully functional system would require funding on the same scale as the world’s current multibillion-dollar science projects such as the Large Hadron Collider and the James Webb Space Telescope—funding that Milner alone could not provide. Governments would be one possible sponsor; collectives of billionaire philanthropists would be another. Along with Milner and Hawking, the third member of Breakthrough Starshot’s board of directors is Mark Zuckerberg, the wealthy founder and CEO of Facebook.
“This must be viewed as a collective effort, because that is the only way this can be done,” Milner says. “If we can do this within our lifetimes as we hope, that is pretty exciting, but if not, we will pass it to the next generation—not as an idea, but as a developed roadmap and technology. We are not hundreds of years away from this—only dozens…. This $100 million is meant to last for the next few years, to focus on every single one of the potential deal breakers we have found, to see how far we can push and if we hit any roadblocks.”
Besides the present lack of hardware and full-scale funding, one more key item is missing from Breakthrough Starshot’s plans: There are as yet no confirmed planetary targets in Alpha Centauri. In 2012 a team of European astronomers announced their discovery of an Earth-size planet in a three-day orbit around one of the system’s two stars, but further investigation cast serious doubts about those claims. According to Breakthrough Initiatives’ chairman Pete Worden, the former director of NASA Ames Research Center and current director of Breakthrough Starshot, the organization is also planning a second, related initiative to build new ground-based instruments and maybe even a small space telescope to search for and study Alpha Centauri’s possible planets. Such instruments and telescopes could be turned to other nearby stars, too, possibly revealing additional targets for interstellar voyages. Ultimately, nanocraft in their wispy millions could fan out on photons to explore many more stars, transforming what we do and know on galactic scales.
In addition to making practical interstellar flight a reality, Worden says, the Starshot project could also be transformative for other applications closer to home. Starshot’s final laser array could prove useful for detecting and characterizing potentially threatening near-Earth asteroids, and its many deformable mirrors could be repurposed to make the array a massive telescope for gathering starlight rather than creating laser beams. The lasers could also power nanocraft on rapid flybys of all the solar system’s planets, sending probes to Mars in a few hours or Pluto in days for a few hundred thousand dollars per shot.
“Once we launch these things and deliver close-up images of a planet around another star, that begins to define humanity as a whole and humanity’s future,” Worden says. “This is something that, if it works, changes how we think about ourselves as a species and as a planet.”
Already, the planning for Breakthrough Starshot is changing how members of the Breakthrough Initiatives organization view its other related projects, such as Breakthrough Listen, the effort to tune in to deliberate or inadvertent transmissions from cosmic civilizations. If we can seek out potentially habitable planets in other star systems and use lasers to send flotillas of miniaturized spacecraft to investigate them, there is no reason to assume we are the only ones in the Milky Way doing so. The spacecraft themselves would be essentially invisible: A gram-size interstellar probe striking the Earth’s upper atmosphere at 20 percent the speed of light would release roughly a kiloton of energy, indistinguishable from airbursts produced by meter-scale space rocks that regularly pepper our planet at a rate of about once per year. Were it to stream into one of Earth’s more capable ground-based observatories, however, the light from the lasers propelling such probes could conceivably be detected. Most of Breakthrough Listen’s efforts revolve around seeking signs of chatty aliens conversing via radio waves, but the project also funds searches for any glints of laser light from interstellar space.
In remarks prepared ahead of Tuesday’s news conference, Stephen Hawking explained his support for the project as less about science and more about survival. “Earth is a wonderful place, but it might not last forever,” Hawking says. “Sooner or later, we must look to the stars. Breakthrough Starshot is a very exciting first step on that journey.”
Loeb agrees. “At some point, we must find alternatives to living on Earth, and as with any big journey, this has to start with a first small step—you can’t just give up,” he says. “Remember what Oscar Wilde said—‘We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.’ When I look up at the stars at night, they seem like lights in a giant ship sailing through space. And each time I ask myself the same question: Are there other passengers riding in this giant ship, near those lights? If this project comes to fruition, we could visit them and find out.”

In an article posted on Army Times, the United States Army’s top general said Thursday as he marked the 100th anniversary of the ROTC program at Norwich University, that “If the world if 1916 was complex, or the world of 1945 was complex, the world of 2016 is intensely complex, and I can tell you that from personal experience,” he said. “You’ll be dealing with terrorists, you’ll be dealing with hybrid armies, you’ll be dealing with little green men, you’ll be dealing with tribes, you’re going to be dealing with it all, and you’re going to be dealing with it simultaneously.”
In today's political atmosphere, UFOs/UAPs and alien life are terms no longer considered political suicide when giving talking points to crowds of thousands. While some political figures have simply hinted that they believe in the possibility of aliens, others have come right out and proclaimed it to be true, while he main stream media seems to simply over look it all.
With John Podesta and Hillary Clinton charging out front on governmental disclosure of information regarding UFOs/UAPs there is a growing list of political leaders who have expressed their beliefs just as well. In a 2014 interview with Jimmy Kimmel, former president Bill Clinton said that he "wouldn't be surprised" if aliens visited the earth.
Former Governor of Arizona Fife Symington has not only publicly shared his belief in aliens, but also claims to have been part of an encounter. The governor said he was a witness to the "Phoenix Lights" in 1997, an incident which many believed to be a large grouping of UFOs hovering in the Phoenix sky. Symington also said that unless it can be proven otherwise, he thinks the lights were "probably some form of alien spacecraft."
In a speech to the United Nations in 1987, Reagan said an alien invasion would unify the world. "Perhaps we need some outside universal threat to make us recognize this common bond," he said. "I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world.", and this is just to name a few however, when talking about active military heads discussing extraterrestrials on the record in any capacity is rare if ever, not anymore.
Last Thursday, the Army’s top general, speaking to future leaders of the military said we will be facing hybrid Armies and little green men all at the same time, so what does this mean exactly? Is the US Military engaging in 'Force Readiness' for an alien invasion? Is this another de'facto admission that the government knows more than they have disclosed to the people regarding alien life here on Earth?
In 2016, with Presidential Candidates and Top Military Brass all talking about UFO and ETs one thing is for certain, the bread crumbs are turning into loafs and one can only imagine what comes next. Stay tuned, its going to get real interesting in the coming months.

Billionaire investor Paul Allen has unveiled a new company, Stratolauch Systems, to provide private rocket launches into Earth orbit from a giant aerial launch platform made up of the biggest airplane in history. The novel launch system will use a giant twin-boom airplane with a wingspan longer than a football field and launch a rocket and space capsule designed by the private spaceflight company SpaceX.
