About Me:
Ive been making documentaries for twenty years now, on all sorts of subjects from the Ark of the Covenant and the Holy Grail, to Bigfoot, the Bermuda Triangle and the secret Bloodline of Jesus. You may have seen some of them on television or in the cinema. I spent many years working in Los Angeles and now Im based in London.
Go to my website www.bruce-burgess.com and check some of them out.
The Idea:
One of the first television documentaries that I made was on a man called Bob Lazar & a top secret military facility out in the Nevada desert called Area 51.
Thats what I now want to turn into a scripted feature film called DREAMLAND.
Will it be a documentary? No, but it will have documentary look. Think District 9 and Michael Winterbottoms Guantanamo Bay'.
Will it get made? Yes. Ive made dozens of successful documentary films and programmes for major TV networks over the years. Its what I do.
Why make this film? Because whats gone before has never done this subject justice. I want to make one that deals with the facts we know, based on the evidence thats available.
The Story:
Most people have heard of Area 51, but not many know the true facts.
In 1989 a 30 year old scientist called Bob Lazar walked into a Las Vegas television station in and claimed that he had worked out in the desert at Area 51, in a underground facility called S4.
He said that he worked as a contractor for the Department of Naval Intelligence, through a defense subsidiary called EG&G, and that his job was to reverse engineer the propulsion system of a recovered alien spacecraft.
He produced a wage slip from the Department of Naval Intelligence as proof.
He claims that he received detailed, top secret, briefings on a number of recoveries that had been made by the US government of crashed space vehicles as well as EBEs extra-terrestrial biological entities.
According to this man, the US Government had been reverse engineering these recovered craft for over fifty years, resulting in a number of exotic new products, such as Kevlar, fiber optics and the stealth coverings for aircraft, which were then developed and sold to large multi-national corporations. He also claims to have witnessed test flights of man-made flying craft which were utilizing this alien technology.
He claimed his life was in danger and that was why he was going public.
But was any of it true? Or just a cleverly created fantasy?
From my perspective, I have met Bob several times over the years, and he has never varied or tried to embellish his story to me in any way.
George Knapp, the Las Vegas TV reporter who Lazar broke his story to has spent over 20 years investigating his claims, and after verifying much of his background and talking to other people who claimed to have worked out at Area 51, Knapp believes that most of his story is, in fact, true.I believe this could be a great film, and I need your help to make it.
The Plan:
The plan is to make an independently funded feature film that can be released Online and on DVD. We will probably have some private cinema screenings to launch it too.
Once we have raised these initial funds on Indiegogo we will start pre-production; casting, location scouting, scheduling and planning. and once we have all the matching funds in place we hope to be shooting before the end of the year, on location in Los Angeles & Nevada.
Everything we raise will be used for pre production, shooting & editing.
We plan to be in post-production early in 2014 and looking to release the film next year.
I have built up a great team of editors, cameramen, GFX creators and other professionals around me over the years, and I already have a list as long as my arm of industry pros who want to make this film happen.
Come on board:
So how can I tempt you to invest? And why should you part with your hard-earned money to back me in this?
Well firstly because I think this is brilliant Indie film project, a story I have had a long term passion for, and a subject that I want to people to know about, talk about and share.
So whether you give me $5 or $100 or just share this link with your friends, I really, truly appreciate you taking the time to read this.
All the best,
Bruce
