RVSM CLARIFICATION to ABI- FI

RVSM = REDUCED VERTICAL SEPARATION MINIMA is a procedure above FL290 where now the separation between IFR flights who in the past was 2000 ft has now be reduced to 1000 ft.

This RVSM has no effect for IFR below FL290 nor for VFR below FL200;

In IMC the IFR below FL200 are separated verticaly by 1000ft in VMC the IFR are separated by ATC by 1000ft en in VMC the VFR are flying at levels who keep them 500 ft above or below the IFR operations.

This is the raison thad the altimeters must be checked on regular occasion and the use of the correct altimetersetting in HPA is vital en visual LOOK OUT is very inportant during each VFR and IFR flight in VMC.!!!!!!!

LOOK OUTSIDE and use the requied FLIGHT LEVELS as published in the NATIONAL AIP

SEE and AVOID is vital in IFR (also when under ATC control) and VFR in VMC

CAUTION the aplication in UK and ITALY !!!!!

There are no intentions to change any of this procedure below FL290

for any clarification do not hesitate to consult the AIP via EAD and the other legal documents.
