URC: Reaction as Glasgow Warriors beat Sharks 21-10

Sharks should be happy with that result. Glasgow should feel a little bit deflated. Sharks are the team for me that have such potential given the squad that they have. Just the sheer size of the players they've got. They have to watch their errors in the game.

Glasgow can finish top two. It's so important if they get the win and they get a home quarter and semi-final. That is probably why Franco [Smith] is being as tough. They want that home semi.

If Sharks had got one more try in the second half, they could've been in this game. They have to look at those missed opportunities. If you look at their defence and how they really stood up, for a group of players that aren't the starting XV, I thought they put in a really good effort.

Glasgow Warriors head coach Franco Smith tells Premier Sports: "Obviously, I'm very happy with the win. Can never not appreciate that. Good to do it at Scotstoun again.

"I said during the week that the Sharks team shouldn't be underrated and I proved that. We made a lot of errors, though, so there's a lot of learnings and work-ons that we're going to take into next week.

"The line speed was much hotter in the second part of the game. We knew that they will make their one-on-one tackles. They're a South African team - they don't miss in that part of the game."

Player of the match Max Williamson tells Premier Sports: "We didn't stick to our game plan. Our plan was to try and apply ourselves onto them.

"We got into that 50-50 battle and that's not how we wanted to play it. I think the game got away from us a little bit and it fizzled out in the second half.

"We'll be a bit disappointed that we weren't able to get a bonus point and just with our performance in the second half. I think it got a bit messy. That's not really how we wanted to play it, but we got the win, so that's good."

Facundo Cordero receives the offload from Jamie Dobie and looks set to go flying over the whitewash but he is swallowed by the Sharks defence and the ball is ripped from him.

Sharks boot the ball down the pitch and it trickles into touch and that will be that.

With the clock in the red, Jamie Dobie is in full flight as he spots a gap in the Sharks defence. Will Glasgow finally get a score in this half?

Glasgow are defending hard in the closing stages of the game as Sharks are trying everything they can think of to get something out of this game.

A spot of crossing from the visitors ends their attack as Glasgow boot the ball to the corner.

Ross Thompson spots some space in behind the Sharks defence, but the bounce of the ball is so unkind as it goes all the way out of play.

There is a brief stop in play as Oli Kebble is down receiving some treatment on his ankle. Unfortunately, the newest centurion is hobbling off as Nathan McBeth is back on.

Sharks are refusing to go quietly as they are really starting to put Glasgow under pressure here.

The hosts manage to steal the ball back and are awarded a penalty in the process.

A crucial turnover for Glasgow comes from the latest man to come on, Sintu Manjezi. Manjezi wins the hosts a scrum on their own five-metre mark as they try and get themselves out of a tight spot in the far corner.

Glasgow have not yet clicked into gear in this second half.

Sharks have been game and their try through Ntuthuko Mchunu was brilliantly created by Aphiwe Oyantyi, but Warriors need to find a way to wrestle back the momentum.

The race for a top four, and ideally a top two, finish will come down to fine margins and Glasgow do not want to leave a try bonus point behind them here tonight. They have just under a quarter of the game to find that fourth try.

Sharks are spared a yellow card as it is deemed a rugby incident rather than foul play much to the dismay of the Scotstoun crowd.

A knock-on from Sione Tuipulotu gives Sharks the opportunity to make something happen, but before they can referee Federico Vedovelli is having a look at a potential high tackle on Tuipulotu.

Tom Jordan is away!! Sharks lose the ball off the back of the line-out and the Glasgow fly-half makes the break all the way up to the five metre mark.

Sharks turn it over but knock it on soon after. Everyone take a breath now.

Quick ball from Glasgow off the back of the scrum brings them up to the Sharks 22. Sione Tuipulotu is everywhere as he battles through defenders trying to get the offload.

A kick over the top from Tom Jordan and an unfortunate bounce of the ball gives Sharks a line-out in their own 22.

Oli Kebble has taken to the field to make his 100th Glasgow appearance in place of Nathan McBeth.

I think everyone will be happy with this break in play as there are some running repairs on both sides.

Glasgow's Johnny Matthews is down with an ankle injury that doesn't look too good for the Liverpudlian as he goes off and Gregor Hiddleston come on in his place.
