  2. 'We've got a lot of young talent coming through'

England captain Heather Knight speaking on BBC Two: "We have depth with the bat, it was a case of rebuilding. We're delighted Nat's coming back in, but we've got a lot of young talent coming through.

"I wasn't going to miss England games in New Zealand [to play in the WPL]. It gave me a chance to work on my game, I had some good time in the nets with my batting coach, you don't have a lot of chance to do that.

"We're getting really good at sharing knowledge. We've got a lot of young players who are keen to soak up stuff, sometimes if we're under the pump we might have to change our game if the pitch isn't conducive to hitting a boundary every ball. We're working with the skills coaches to get the skills we need in Bangladesh."

  3. Post update

Amy Jones was playing her 100th T20 for England today.

She scored a crucial 37 with the bat and took four wickets with the gloves.

    Not a bad day...

  4. Post update

    Katherine Sciver-Brunt

    Ex-England bowler on BBC Two

Sarah Glenn, such a character, such a team player, a calming presence, a calming player. She had four concussions in the past few years. She was pretty raw but came out like that, put pressure on and came out with a result.

  5. 'So many positives'

England leg-spinner Sarah Glenn after her four wickets: "The concussion [earlier this year in New Zealand] wasn't ideal. For me it has been staying patient, trusting my game and not overthinking it.

"I have not had much prep but it was about keeping it simple.

"We regrouped. Heather and Jonesy were class and Gibbo and Sophie at the end. There were so many positives and still some learnings."

  6. 'The scoreboard flattered us'

England captain Heather Knight speaking on BBC Two: "I think if we are honest the scoreboard flattered us, we did some good things today but we were probably a little off the pace. It was desperation to get going, a big crowd and trying to impose ourselves on the game. I wouldn't look too much into it, we want our players to be aggressive, just at the right time.

"Me and Jonesy tried to stay calm, we talked about opportunities to score if we batted for a bit. Danni Gibson was a clutch player at the end, showing her potential.

"I found it a bit tricky the bowlers were bowling quite slow and the seamers were hard to get away. We had to soak pressure up first, because we know we had to time to score."

  7. Post update

Pakistan raced to 50-1 from five overs, with Sadaf Shamas striking five boundaries from Gibson's second over.

But they struggled to score runs thereafter and lost steady wickets to a disciplined England attack.

  8. Post update

England captain Knight continued to score steady runs until she fell one short of her fifty.

But Dani Gibson and Sophie Ecclestone put on 44 from 29 for the seventh wicket to take England to 163-6.

Gibson finished with a very handy 41 not out from just 21 balls at the death.

  9. Post update

    She still wants better.

  10. Post update

    Aatif Nawaz

    Commentator on BBC Two

We saw today an epic demonstration of high-quality skill, high-class play and the ability to absorb pressure.

I really think that's how England were able to win today.

  12. ENGLAND WIN BY 53 RUNS

Sadia c Kemp b Bell 8 (Pak 110 all out)

It's Lauren Bell who finishes off the match as number 11 Sadia Iqbal skies a catch when attempting to cut.

After a shoddy start, England have completed a convincing win.

  13. Pak 109-9

    Fatima, 15, Sadia 8

It has been good to see this bit of fight from Pakistan.

It bodes well for the rest of the season.

  14. Pak 108-9

    What was I saying?

Fatima Sana swings away another boundary.

  15. Post update

    Enough of that nonsense...

Sophie Ecclestone is back to wrap it up.

  16. Post update

    Aatif Nawaz

    Commentator on BBC Two

Sadia Iqbal is ranked in the top 10 of bowlers but she's not even top 50 in the batting rankings, she's made some really big plays today.

  17. Pak 104-9

    Need 60 from 18 balls

This is a nice moment for the Pakistan fans in the crowd as number 11 Sadia Iqbal, batting without a sticker on her bat, fiddles away a boundary to bring up the 100.

She pumps another for four later in the over too! The Pakistan flags wave again.

  18. Not out

    No!

It was pitching outside leg by, in the words of Ian Smith, the barest of margins.

  19. Post update

    This looks out to me.

  20. England review

    Is this it?

An lbw shout against Sadia Iqbal is given not out but England want another look.
