It was tough at times in Parma, with both sides struggling to click, but it was Scotland who eventually made it work and produced three stunning scores.
Emma Orr got the second that sparked Scotland towards a historic first win on Italian soil since 1999 - when Orr hadn't even been born.
They head to Ravenhill in Belfast next weekend to try and claim a third tournament win and crown themselves as the best of the rest.

It's just brilliant. This team continue to break boundaries and make history, it seems like every week at the moment.
I'm proud of them because it's difficult to bounce back after a heavy loss but they've done a job against a good Italian side when history was against them.
In the second half, Scotland were a little more patient with the ball in Italy's 22m, and more clinical. It was great to our wingers making line-breaks.
