Wollaton: Striking image of Moon over manor captured
- Published
A striking image of the Moon has been captured over Wollaton Hall in Nottingham.
Photographer Michael Platten took several photographs with a long lens from Trowell Moor, near Strelley, on Thursday night.
Mr Platten said he had long been planning the shot.
He said the time he spent scouting the location and heading out in the middle of night in the cold, was "all worthwhile when you see the results".
The photographs show the Moon lining up perfectly with the Grade I listed Wollaton Hall, known to some as Batman's house.
The hall doubled up as Wayne Manor in the film The Dark Knight Rises in 2012.
Mr Platten said he enjoyed seeking out views and alignments like these.
"The full Moon only lines up from this location about once per year and, of course, you are relying on the weather to be right, with no cloud on the horizon," he said.
