Labour's rail plan 'unfunded', says transport secretary

The transport secretary said there was “nothing” in Labour’s plan that would make rail services better for passengers.

Mark Harper predicted it would lead to “French-style wildcat strikes” and put unions back in the driving seat.

He said the government was delivering on “sensible things” on the railways, but Labour’s new policy would lead to higher prices and cost taxpayers more.
