Man arrested after car rams bank building released on bail

A man arrested after a car was rammed into a bank building in Londonderry several times has been released.

The 47-year-old was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, drink-driving, criminal damage and attempted theft following the incident shortly before 23:40 BST on Monday.

Police received a report that a red car had rammed the front of the Ulster Bank building on Culmore Road several times before leaving and later returning.

The man, who was arrested at the scene, has been released on bail to allow for further enquiries, police said.
