Stephanie Braet (Facebook March 18, 2013)
"Another cool fact about today for me was, as I sat in the embassy office getting both of my index fingers' finger printed, with this cool computer scanner for my new passport, I was discussing my knowledge of the Flemish, Dutch, German and French languages with the consulate officer. I spoke to him with the flemish that I learnt from my cousin, Bernard Braet, (I think or was it Frederick?), and he laughed and smiled and then he asked me if I was related to this other 'Braet' in Canada in his sytem, wasn't, and I started to tell him about my relative, André Braet, a genealogist from Belgium who has categorized over two thousand Braets in Belgium in present day with our family tree lineage back to 1290 in many books and before I could finish my sentence He said: 'I know 'haha! The Braets' represent! ...and possible take over? How cool is that? the Embassy knows about us!:
