Playing Games
Poetry by the author
I never mention or whispered my name
When you searched for somebody, to play your game
I never asked you to be a hero,
Not even for a day
You put me on stage to play my part
You gave me the pack, right from the start
I hope you know what you're doing,
Don't tear me apart
You gave me some good times, thanks a lot
And showed me their meaning, that I forgot
I wonder if my balance,
Will lean over the right way
Sometimes I wonder and I don't understand
The meaning of your playing or your command
I have faith and trust,
In the outcome of your play
At the end of a lifetime, the light is dimmed
You collect your harvest, the rest is skimmed
It's my deepest wish, may my sheaf
Please you, day by day.
