Wonderfull radio from 1955 with a lot of special features like 3 CV (variable condencer) and a special separate wave. This unit was a very expensive model when he was on the market. This radio was saved by the influence of time like moisture and insects, the case is still in a wonderfull condition (still have the original comercial paper tag on the front). A condition like this is very hard to find on the 55 models most of them had varnisch damage.
Most expensive model of this West German Company. This model was the top of their line in 1955. Unessesairy to mention that this model is a hard to find. Regards, Retro0_7
Groeten,
David.

Siemens schatulle m57
This is one of the most typical Siemens radios build in the 50ties.
When the doors are closed the dial lamps are out, this was necessary to prevent the radio of overheating.
The left door put out the magic eye tube EM80 and the right door put out the dial lamps.
The transparent wheel in the middle of the radio is the on/of switch (pull down) and also the volume control (scroll).
This radio has a magnificent sound, very powerful using 2 EL84 in the output power.
This is one of the bigest tube radios made by Philips in 1955. The radio has motor tuning and was a real luxuary item ath this time. The radio was on sale in 1955 for 900 Gulden (name of the money curency in the Netherlands ath this time, now in euro it will be around 1500 this will be 2.000 USD!!!). This is a very heavy boy 30 Kg! Sizes are: L 71cm, H 44cm, D 31cm. This radio has 16 tubes! EBF80, ECH81, EF80, EC92, EF89, EBF80, EF85, EAA91, ECC83, EBC41, PL81, PL81, EL84, EZ80, EZ80, EM34.
Very huge radio from Grundig, this is a very rare model who is equiped with the "automatic" function. The automatic version runs to stations by using a motorized tuner. This radio is a heavy boy and weigts aprox 28Kg. The speakers in this radio are very impessive and huge, also in this set they use 2 frontal tweeters. No nessesery to mention these radios wher very expensive in the production time, but still today you will pay a lot of money to have one in this condition...
One of the best soundig tube radios I ever hear is this Saba Freiburg-Studio from 1963. This radio has motortuning for the stations and volume control, probebly one of the most expensive radios of his time. This is a real heavy weight of 17 kg! Tubes are: EC92, EC92, ECH81, EF89, EM84, EBF89, EF86, EF86, ECC83, EABC80, ECL80, ELL80, ELL80.

This Gerufon Ultra Favorit 56W is a very big table top radio, also very heavy weights about 23 Kg! This model was the luxury model of the company in 1956, it cost a fortune ath this time...

This is the biggest table top radio ever made (for so far I know).
Its the masterpiece of any collection of German radios.
Its a Siemens Schatulle P48 made between 1954 and 55.
This radio is a SoundBlaster, 4 big alnico speakers are doing the big job!
There is a ECC83 for each EL84 tube!
No less than 14 tubes!!!
This radio was the most expensive radio of his time, you have to pay 795 DM (German Marks = 1500 euro or 1890 USD).
