Opening seizoen 2010

Stootkussen

Er was een tijd dat de opening van het tennisseizoen interrupties van een verder rustig bestaan waren. Mijn lidmaatschap van TCA speelde zich af in een brede bedding van zekerheden. Ik kwam in een double nooit aan de bal, wel na afloop aan de bar. De overheid was toen nog niet kleiner, evenmin beter trouwens. Hoe anders is dat na de opening van het seizoen 2010. Om het met de dichter van alle gelegenheidscolumnisten, te zeggen: voorbij, voorbij en o, voorgoed voorbij. De opening van het tennisseizoen is niet overzichtelijk meer, de overheid trouwens evenmin.

Het bestuur heeft gezien de hoeveelheid Prosecco die geschonken werd kennelijk gekozen voor een transactioneel leiderschapsmodel. Dit model is gebaseerd op de gedachte dat de mens lust zoekt en onlust vermijdt. In zijn meest archaïsche vorm vinden we het terug bij Sinterklaas, al heet het daar gewoon Wie zoet is krijgt lekkers. Terzijde merk ik op dat dit model bij de Rijksoverheid reeds lang geleden is verlaten omdat de zak van Sinterklaas niet voldoet aan de eisen zoals gesteld in het Besluit inrichting penitentiaire verblijven jeugdige delinquenten.

Belangrijk nieuws ook van voorzitter Ivo over ons orgaan t Kleine Krantje. Na de E-mail, de E-commerce en op sommige frivole Ministeries zelfs E-government krijgen wij binnenkort t E-Krantje. Ik wacht met smart op de E-rectie, maar dat is een ander chapiter. Nu ik het er toch over heb, ik zag een oude bekende met een nieuwe partner, wellicht het begin van een nieuwe relatie maar misschien ook gewoon een zaadlozinkje tussendoor.

Met het tennisseizoen werd ook het lustrumseizoen geopend, TCA bestaat 35 jaar en dat zullen we als het aan de Lustrumcommissie ligt weten ook. Extravaganza is het thema. Dat werd meteen duidelijk toen Michiel in een soort nerveus gesneden variétékostuum naar voren werd gehaald om samen met Lustrumvoorzitter Maarten ons kond te doen van al het moois dat ons te wachten staat.

Terwijl ik dit schrijf probeert mijn gade het dagelijks cryptogram uit de krant op te lossen Een mooie vrouw kussen om de klap op te vangen, jawel een stoot kussen.

I think that taking the ceunss of America is one of the hardest and most rigorous jobs that have to be done. This procedure happens every ten years but usually takes one whole year to complete. The hardest part of the job is getting everybody to cooperate and hand in their ten question form on time. Many people forget or just don't have time. This is commonly the case with students at colleges and universities. Many students are fooled by the fact that they think that they are accounted for by the house in which their parents are living; when in actuality it is where you are living fulltime (fulltime means living on campus or off-campus housing). Many students are unaware of the ceunss and are too lazy to complete these forms or usually just forget. I think that it is a good idea to use email to get through to kids at colleges or universities because everybody at these institutions uses a computer to operate and is most likely up to date with most technology. This would increase the accuracy of the ceunss and would probably save the government a lot of time.

Being a die hard patriot fan, it is hard for me to aokwcnledge when they get flat out dominated in every singe aspect of the game. But I must tip my cap to Drew Brees, Sean Payton, and the rest of the New Orleans Saints. Last night represented one of the greatest games i have witnessed a quarterback play. This is saying a lot, seeing how i witness Tom Brady and Peyton Manning play every week.The Patriot's defense would be the easiest to blame, but do they really deserve it? I thought they played pretty well, but there just isnt any possible way to defend against a perfectly thrown ball. And 18 out of 23 times last night, Brees delivered a perfectly thrown ball.If Patriots fans want someone to blame, i suggest the coaching staff. Where was the pressure on brees? It seemed like he had an eturnity to scan the feild, pump fake one way, look to his 3rd or even 4th receiver, and deliver a strike downfeild without being touched every play. Clearly we couldn't even stop the saints offense when we werent sending pressure, so why not take a shot at pressuring Brees and causing a turnover. on the other sideline, Sean Payton coached a brilliant game defensively, rotating fom man to man, to a 2 man rush, to a 3 man rush, rolling to zone coverage. Brady had no idea what to expect.

Cycling Jersey,

The upcoming 9th Annual Bergen County Bicycle Tour, Cycling jersey,which will be held on June 2nd, promises to be a fun day for families and serious cyclists alike. The event includes a challenging 45-mile route, a rolling terrain 25 miler and a flat 12-mile route for newer riders. Cycling Shorts Registration begins at 7:30 AM for the 45 miler which leaves at 8 AM. The 25- and 12-mile rides leave at 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM respectively.

A real treat as in past years is a 5-mile family ride which leaves at 10:30 AM, bike wear as it allows children of ages as young as 5+ to try to ride on a road shoulder in the street as well as through a nearby community of homes. We encourage safety on this ride, which is aided by a local policeman and many of our BTCNJ members. In the recent years this event Bike shorts has drawn approximately 700 cyclists.

As part of the Comprehensive Bike Program, Bike Jersey a Cycling Education Committee comprised of the Mayor's Office, Bike JC and the Hudson Transportation Management Association has developed an awareness campaign to educate cyclist, pedestrians and motorists about cyclist safety. The committee has produced public service announcements that focus on the rules of the road and the environmental impact of cycling, Cycling clothing which broadcast on YouTube and JC1TV.
