Miljonair bekent per ongeluk drie moorden
Een miljonair uit de Verenigde Staten is opgepakt op verdenking van drie moorden. In een televisie-documentaire legde hij plots per ongeluk een bekentenis af. Robert Durst (71), de erfgenaam van een miljonairsfamilie uit New York, werd al eerder verdacht van de moorden op zijn vrouw Kathleen McCormack (1982), zijn vriendin Susan Berman (2000) en zijn buurman Morris Black (2001), maar hij werd nooit veroordeeld wegens een gebrek aan bewijzen. Hij reikt het bewijs jaren later plots zelf per ongeluk aan in een HBO-documentaire over de moorden, waar hij vrijwillig aan meewerkte.
Nadat Durst had gepraat over de moordzaken en met nieuw bewijsmateriaal werd geconfronteerd, ging hij tussen de opnames door even naar het toilet. Daar zei hij tegen zichzelf: "Wat heb ik in godsnaam gedaan!? Ik heb ze allemaal vermoord!", terwijl hij vergeten was dat hij nog een microfoontje omhad voor de documentaire.
