Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.
This is our new dog Kira, a cross between a water dog and a Podenko. She has been with us since February 7, 2024 and is busy winning our hearts. She is a sweet, affectionate dog who quickly adapted to us within a week. She is very quick and curious, a very different dog than Noleke.

Wilfredo H. Arevalo, a rancher, saw a disc land, while a second craft hovered above. He got to a distance of 150 meters from the landed disc, which was giving off a greenish-blue vapor and ‘an intense smell of burning benzene’ and appeared to be of a phosphorescent metal like aluminum. Above the disc, a… large flat part was revolving, ‘like a gramophone record’. In the center the disc had a cabin of very transparent ‘glass’ through which he could see four tall, well-shaped men, dressed in something like cellophane, working at various instruments. He was particularly struck by the pallor of their faces. On seeing him, the men shone a searchlight at him, a blue light lit up the craft, there was an increase of the vapor, and flames, alternately reddish and greenish, shot out from the base. The craft then rose with a faint hum and both machines vanished over the Chilean frontier, leaving bluish trails. Searching the area next day, Arevalo and his cowhands found the grass burnt and advised the Argentine Air Force and the Buenos Aires newspaper, “La Razon”.

A woman walking alone on a country road heard an odd sound coming from a nearby ditch at the edge of a field. She went over to look and there she saw a little woman about 2-foot tall with long red hair, she was trying to pick up a smooth stone which was wedged in the ditch. The woman was wearing a purple outfit and had what appeared to be two raven feathers on her head. The witness approached and could see that the little woman was struggling with the stone. The little woman suddenly noticed the witness and disappeared in plain sight.

You know how it is – if you are a farmer that is – you are trying to plough one of your fields but keep striking great lumps of stone. You get a bit cheesed off about this after a while. But maybe it’s not so bad when you eventually discover you have hit upon the remains of some ancient temples beneath your field.
And very old temples they proved to be, some built around 3600 BC – so that’s over 5000 years ago. These are the Tarxien Temples of Malta – or what’s left of them, first discovered in 1913 though they were still being excavated in the 1950s.
As you can see in the photo above some replica stones have also been included in the site, which is a shame. They are too square and exact and, for me, spoilt the feel and look of the place.
Nevertheless it’s interesting to visit. It is believed that the buildings were built over a long period from about 3600 BC, as previously mentioned, to around 2500 BC.
The oldest remains are as shown in the photo below. These were built of smaller stones. The buildings were unfortunately damaged by the farmers with their ploughing.
Much larger stones were used for the later temples. The photo below shows the thickness of some of the floors.
The large boulders or stones weigh as much as an elephant, well that’s what a sign states. But how heavy is an elephant? The theory is that these heavy stones were transported by rolling them on smaller round stones.
A few dodgy new stones have been included in the next photo and for some reason they also used cement – which has had an adverse effect on the original stones.
But there are good things to see, like the well …
… and some of the carvings.
More thorough excavations are now being carried out, so you never know what they may still come across.
What was the purpose of these temples? This is the official line:
“Although we know little of the activities that took place within these buildings, they were clearly an important communal centre. The activities or rituals that took place here may have been of a religious, political and / or economic nature; however, following the sudden end of the temple culture the site was put to a very different use. During the early Bronze Age (after 2500 BC) the chambers of the Tarxien Temples were used for funerary purposes, being turned into a cremation cemetery.”
We made our way to the Temples on a number 81 bus getting off at Paola. After we had seen all we wanted we got on the first bus that came along. We had no idea where it was headed but ended up in a lovely fishing village called Marsaxlokk. A good day out!

Mr. & Mrs. Mozin were traveling to Maubeuge by car when they saw a light by the road ahead. As they approached, they saw that it came from the interior of an object shaped like a fat shell. This object was about 6 ft in diameter and 7.5 ft high, and rested on 3 1-foot legs. It was a whitish metallic color. A wide opening gaped in it on the side facing the road; within could be seen thick cables… and a very stout space suited being about 4 ft tall, apparently about to step out. He was encased in “rolls” like the “Michelin tire man” and wore boots & a very broad helmet. His face was not seen. The Mozins passed within 15 ft of the object. The car’s headlights went out when it came within 300 ft of the object, and came on again 300 ft past it. The next day, Mr. Mozin found an 8” carbonized spot “giving off an odor reminiscent to benzene” & surrounded by 3 imprints 4” deep, on a circle of about 4.5 ft diameter.

Over the years, how many time have you heard Colfax, WI UFO? The incident and the photos have been fairly obscure within ufology. But were there multiple witnesses? Who did Wendelle Stevens get the photographs from?
On April 19, 1978, police officer Mark Coltrane was on patrol in the vicinity of Colfax. He then noticed a metalic looking disc raising towards the the sky at a short distance from the parking space. While the object seemed to move towards him, Coltrane picked up his Polaroid camera, came out of the car and snapped some photographs. The object was so close in one of the images that it is possible to notice some details of its lower surface.
Colfax, a small town with a thousands of inhabitants in Wisconsin. At midday, Officer Coltrane decided to stop the car to eat something, in a small isolated area. He noted that his radio was emitting crackles.
He then noticed a metallic looking disc raising towards the the sky at a short distance from the parking space.
While the object seemed to move towards him, Coltrane picked up his Polaroid camera, came out of the car and snapped some photographs. The object was so close in one of the images that it is possible to notice some details of its lower surface.
In the second photograph the object is starting to move away.
The total observation lasted a few minutes, the object being being lost from his sight when it accelerated and fled in the distance.
Coltrane, shocked by the sighting, remained in amazement for two hours without saying anything, by fear of being ridiculed when he would have to submit his report to his chiefs. – Wendelle Stevens – UFOs at Close Sight (Ufologie.net)

On Wednesday 19 April 1978, Mr. S. (name witheld (sic) by specific request) and his girlfriend were driving in the vicinity of Tainter Lake, when they decided to stop and attempt some fishing since most of the ice was already thawed.
They found a spot along the shore where they could do some casting. Mr. S. had also brought along an FM portable radio. They had been at this spot for about a half an hour when the radio began picking up interference. It was then that Mr. S. looked up into the sky, thinking an airplane must be going over-head.
At that point the object “appeared” out of the southwest, moving northeast. He and his girlfriend became very excited and frightened. Remembering that they had a camera with them, (an Instamatic) Mr. S. went and got it to take some pictures. He almost dropped it several times trying to get it out of the case. He finally got it out and started to point it at the object when the object suddenly veered off course in their direction and came towards them. They became even more frightened but Mr. S. was determined to get a photograph of the thing!
At that point, the object began to circle them at a high altitude as Mr. S. began taking pictures. The object flew around the area only once and then disappeared into the sunlight. The whole incident lasted about 3 or 4 minutes.
Mr. S. was hesitant about showing anyone the photos because he was afraid of people thinking the wrong thing. He finally sent a UFO lecturer a copy after attending one of his slide lectures on the UFO subject.
Mr. S. was unable to determine the size of the object for lack of reference, or how fast it was moving. He did say, however, that it gave off a “crackling sound” as it passed around them. – Open Minds TV

To see the future of technology, all you have to do is pay close attention to sci-fi movies. Tablets, video conferencing, air gestures — these are all technologies that were predicted by films. So where are our holograms?
While recent hologram technology has helped bring deceased artists back to life, they require complex mirror and light systems, and cost a fortune to create. Our fantasies of holograms in our pockets — that is projected from smartphones, tablets and watches — has been but a dream.
A California company based in Carlsbad called Ostendo Technologies Inc., however, could hold the key to bringing that sci-fi fantasy into reality.
According to the The Wall Street Journal, Ostendo has developed a tiny Tic Tac-sized projector that can project visible 3D holograms without requiring dorky 3D glasses.
The Ostendo Quantum Photonic Imager "fuses an image processor with a wafer containing micro light-emitting diodes, or LEDs, alongside software that helps the unit properly render images."
And if you take The Wall Street Journal's word, it's not as fuzzy as the ones in Star Wars: A New Hope:
"Ostendo showed a working prototype: a set of six chips laid together that beamed a 3-D image of green dice spinning in the air. The image and motion appeared consistent, irrespective of the position of the viewer."
Compared to the iPhone's 326 pixels per inch Retina display, Ostendo's hologram technology can piece together 3D images with up to 5,000 pixels per inch. That's tack sharp.
Ostendo plans to ship a 2D version of its high-res projector next year, with the hologram-projecting one set to launch in 2016. With $90 million from venture capitals and a huge chunk of an additional $38 million funding from DARPA, it looks like Ostendo will have the resources to make hologram technology a real thing. Now, someone just needs to invent a real-life R2-D2 that knows how to co-pilot an X-wing and trash talk golden humanoid protocol droids.

On Monday of this week, I had copies arrive of what is probably the most controversial book I have written so far: Close Encounters of the Fatal Kind, which is officially published on June 23; although a number of people have contacted me to say they already have copies. Basically, the book is a study of the many and varied suspicious deaths in the field of Ufology, spanning 1946 to pretty much the present day.
Immersing oneself in the world of the unidentified flying object can be exciting, illuminating, stimulating, and enlightening. That very same world, however, is filled to the brim with cold-hearted killers that will not think twice about taking you out of circulation, if such action is deemed absolutely necessary. And not all of those cold-hearted killers are human.
There are cases after cases of missing aircraft, vanished and dead pilots, suspiciously-timed heart-attacks, murders made to look like suicides, the use of mind-control techniques to provoke quick deaths, the many links between the UFO phenomenon and the November 22, 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the termination of numerous scientists with secret UFO links, journalists hung out to dry (as in forever), the terrifying human equivalents of so-called cattle-mutilations, and fatal illnesses provoked by close proximity to unidentified aerial craft.
In the very year that the UFO phenomenon entered popular culture, 1947, there was a grimly impressive catalog of deaths. When, in June of that year, a flying saucer reportedly exploded over Maury Island, Tacoma, Washington State, no less than two military personnel and two media men died under questionable circumstances. Less than two weeks later, the infamous event at Roswell, New Mexico occurred – an event that is dominated by suspicious suicides and mysterious deaths.
Then, in May 1949, the life of the first U.S. Secretary of Defense, James Forrestal, came to a literal, crashing end when he plunged to his death from a window of the Bethesda, Maryland, National Naval Medical Center. Rumors abound that Forrestal’s classified, government work gave him unique access to the U.S. Government’s most guarded UFO secrets of all – secrets that Forrestal was intent on disclosing to the world, had his untimely and suspicious death not got in the way.
Four years down the line, in November 1953, no less than six pilots lost their lives or vanished into oblivion as a result of their UFO pursuits. Karl Hunrath and Wilbur Wilkinson were two men obsessed by UFOs and who mysteriously disappeared on November 10. Claiming to be in contact with human-like aliens, they took to the skies of California to meet with their extraterrestrial friends – never to be seen again. In less than two weeks later, four more pilots were gone: this time they were U.S. military pilots, each and every one involved in UFO incidents in the Great Lakes area.
In 1959, one of the most controversial of all UFO-related deaths occurred: that of flying saucer investigator and author Morris K. Jessup. While the official story is that Jessup’s death was suicide (he was found dead in his car in a Florida park), there are solid grounds for believing that it was far more than that – nothing less than a case of full-blown murder. The reason: to keep Jessup away from certain UFO secrets that powerful players wanted kept hidden.
Without doubt the most sensational story that suggests a link between a suspicious death and flying saucers is that of President John F. Kennedy, who was assassinated on November 22, 1963 at Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas. As incredible as it may sound, the JFK killing is absolutely littered with spies, spooks and secret agents who were deeply linked to the UFO phenomenon. Was the president shot to prevent him from going public about what he knew of alien visitations? Don’t bet against it.
In the late 1960s, and even more so in the mid to late 1970s, numerous farmers across the United States reported that their cattle were being mutilated in horrific fashion: organs, blood and tissue were removed by unknown entities. Strange lights were seen in the sky. UFO encounters abounded. But, it may not just have been animals that were mutilated. There are more than a few reports on record of human mutilations – from the 1970s onwards and all just about as grisly as their cattle-based counterparts. Are we being used as food by hostile and malevolent aliens?
Eerily paralleling the November 1953 affair of Karl Hunrath and Wilbur Wilkinson, in October 1978 a young Australian pilot named Frederick Valentich disappeared over Australia’s Bass Strait. That Valentich vanished shortly after seeing a UFO at extremely close quarters has given rise to the theory that he was the victim of nothing less than a cosmic kidnapping.
Moving on, from the early part of the 1980s to the 1990s, dozens of scientists working for GEC-Marconi, in the United Kingdom, died under very dubious circumstances. Many were linked to President Ronald Reagan’s Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI), which was known far more famously by its nickname: “Star Wars.” That SDI was alleged to have been created to deal with a possible attack by hostile aliens led to an astonishing hypothesis: the Marconi scientists were murdered by extraterrestrials, utilizing advanced mind-control technology, to prevent the SDI project from coming to fruition.
Then there is the 1999 death of UFO/conspiracy author/researcher Jim Keith, who penned such books as Black Helicopters over America; Casebook on the Men in Black; and Saucers of the Illuminati. Was Keith’s death really just a tragic accident? Or did dark and manipulative forces conspire to have Keith taken out of circulation?
Collectively, the above accounts and reports are just the beginning of a long list of untimely deaths in the field of Ufology. Indeed, the number of people involved in research of the UFO variety, and who have died under mysterious circumstances, is now in the dozens.
There is something so secret, so shocking, and so terrifying about the flying saucer phenomenon that it requires the permanent silencing of those that get too close to the truth. And if you are someone who scans the skies for alien spaceships, you just might be next on someone’s hit list…
It has long been rumored that the house next to me has been haunted. People would come and go like it was a perpetually revolving door. The longest anyone stayed was about 6 months. It was a normal house, upper middle class, tan, with a white picket fence, a good sized deck and a decent yard. The only thing slightly creepy about this house was that the man who had owned the house for years and moved, had buried all of his dead pets in the back yard, so it was an animal graveyard of sorts. It sat empty for quite some time, and this is where my experience begins.
I was in high school when this happened, probably my freshman year. I had gotten together with two friends, Carol and Erin, and we were trying to figure out what to do to keep from being bored. Someone, maybe it was me, decided to go check the house out and see what all the fuss was about. We walked through the open gate and into the backyard. A cable man had recently come by to do some work, which was very odd since no one lived there, and had left it open. After standing in the yard for a minute, we decided to play some hide and seek. We decided to draw the boundary at the front and back yard. Going inside was OFF LIMITS. I would count and they would hide. Well I found Carol almost immediately, and she decided to help me find Erin. We looked and looked for about a minute or so, when we heard a noise that sounded like movement in the house. Kind of like someone scurrying across the floor. We assumed that our friend had broken the rules and gone into the house. “Erin!” we shouted at the house. “You know inside is off limits!” We expected to hear the door open and Erin come walking out talking about how she just wanted to look, when we hear her come out from the bushes behind us, explaining that it wasnt her in the house.
We get a look of horror on our faces and slowly turn to look at the large windows that overlook the yard. The house is pitch black so it is impossible to see inside. We arent looking for very long, when I see something directly in front of the window. Its a young girl. Maybe 11 or 12. The only thing that is out of place is that shes not from this time period. Shes wearing a dark dress with a high color and two braids down her back. She looks sad and mouths something that I understand to be “help me.” I cant figure out what she means when I see something behind her that made my blood run cold. Its a man. About 6.5 feet tall and sinister. He has a look of pure hatred on his face and his hands are reaching out as if to choke the girl standing in front of him. As fast as he appears, they disappear. I come back to reality and turn to look at my friends. They look like the had seen a ghost. I turn to my friend Erin and ask her what she saw. She describes the little girl exactly as I saw and the man.

7/2005 – unedited: My father woke me up one day (this was in the middle of summer) and asked if I needed anything from the store. I said no and went back to sleep while my dad and sisters went to town to get groceries. I later woke up around noon that day and looked out the door window and I saw a 7-8′ tall olive green skinned reptilian-like humanoid alien with a normal sized head and long limbs with long fingers and regular-sized all black eyes (no pupils). The creature appeared to be walking from right to left looking at the ground like it was looking for something. The creature was walking in the place where my dad’s old barn used to be before it was taken down. There were small trees and old scrap metal and junk in that area when I saw the creature. I stared at the creature for about 15-20 seconds then I quickly closed the curtain, sat down on my couch and stared at the ground in shock/disbelief thinking to myself “what did I just see”.(Unfortunately, I had no camcorders or cameras at that time) A few minutes later, I got the courage to look back out the window but the creature was gone. It affected me so badly that I’m paranoid to this day sleeping with a light on at night. I have nightmares about aliens and sometimes wake up screaming but sometimes i have good dreams about them where we make peace. There are also times when In my dreams I overcome my fear with anger and actually fight with the creatures using super strength and my body’s internal chi. I recall one dream where woke up strapped to a surface with aliens all around me and I got so angry that I used my body’s chi to explode out of the bonds and beat up the aliens. Premature hype over gravitational waves highlights gaping holes in models for the origins and evolution of the Universe
When a team of cosmologists announced at a press conference in March that they had detected gravitational waves generated in the first instants after the Big Bang, the origins of the Universe were once again major news. The reported discovery created a worldwide sensation in the scientific community, the media and the public at large (see Nature507, 281–283; 2014).
According to the team at the BICEP2 South Pole telescope, the detection is at the 5–7 sigma level, so there is less than one chance in two million of it being a random occurrence. The results were hailed as proof of the Big Bang inflationary theory and its progeny, the multiverse. Nobel prizes were predicted and scores of theoretical models spawned. The announcement also influenced decisions about academic appointments and the rejections of papers and grants. It even had a role in governmental planning of large-scale projects.
The BICEP2 team identified a twisty (B-mode) pattern in its maps of polarization of the cosmic microwave background, concluding that this was a detection of primordial gravitational waves. Now, serious flaws in the analysis have been revealed that transform the sure detection into no detection. The search for gravitational waves must begin anew. The problem is that other effects, including light scattering from dust and the synchrotron radiation generated by electrons moving around galactic magnetic fields within our own Galaxy, can also produce these twists.
The BICEP2 instrument detects radiation at only one frequency, so cannot distinguish the cosmic contribution from other sources. To do so, the BICEP2 team used measurements of galactic dust collected by the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe and Planck satellites, each of which operates over a range of other frequencies. When the BICEP2 team did its analysis, the Planck dust map had not yet been published, so the team extracted data from a preliminary map that had been presented several months earlier. Now a careful reanalysis by scientists at Princeton University and the Institute for Advanced Study, also in Princeton, has concluded that the BICEP2 B-mode pattern could be the result mostly or entirely of foreground effects without any contribution from gravitational waves. Other dust models considered by the BICEP2 team do not change this negative conclusion, the Princetonteam showed (R. Flauger, J. C. Hill and D. N. Spergel, preprint at http://arxiv.org/abs/1405.7351; 2014).
The sudden reversal should make the scientific community contemplate the implications for the future of cosmology experimentation and theory. The search for gravitational waves is not stymied. At least eight experiments, including BICEP3, the Keck Array and Planck, are already aiming at the same goal.

This time, the teams can be assured that the world will be paying close attention. This time, acceptance will require measurements over a range of frequencies to discriminate from foreground effects, as well as tests to rule out other sources of confusion. And this time, the announcements should be made after submission to journals and vetting by expert referees. If there must be a press conference, hopefully the scientific community and the media will demand that it is accompanied by a complete set of documents, including details of the systematic analysis and sufficient data to enable objective verification.
The BICEP2 incident has also revealed a truth about inflationary theory. The common view is that it is a highly predictive theory. If that was the case and the detection of gravitational waves was the ‘smoking gun’ proof of inflation, one would think that non-detection means that the theory fails. Such is the nature of normal science. Yet some proponents of inflation who celebrated the BICEP2 announcement already insist that the theory is equally valid whether or not gravitational waves are detected. How is this possible?
The answer given by proponents is alarming: the inflationary paradigm is so flexible that it is immune to experimental and observational tests. First, inflation is driven by a hypothetical scalar field, the inflaton, which has properties that can be adjusted to produce effectively any outcome. Second, inflation does not end with a universe with uniform properties, but almost inevitably leads to a multiverse with an infinite number of bubbles, in which the cosmic and physical properties vary from bubble to bubble. The part of the multiverse that we observe corresponds to a piece of just one such bubble. Scanning over all possible bubbles in the multiverse, everything that can physically happen does happen an infinite number of times. No experiment can rule out a theory that allows for all possible outcomes. Hence, the paradigm of inflation is unfalsifiable.
This may seem confusing given the hundreds of theoretical papers on the predictions of this or that inflationary model. What these papers typically fail to acknowledge is that they ignore the multiverse and that, even with this unjustified choice, there exists a spectrum of other models which produce all manner of diverse cosmological outcomes. Taking this into account, it is clear that the inflationary paradigm is fundamentally untestable, and hence scientifically meaningless.
Cosmology is an extraordinary science at an extraordinary time. Advances, including the search for gravitational waves, will continue to be made and it will be exciting to see what is discovered in the coming years. With these future results in hand, the challenge for theorists will be to identify a truly explanatory and predictive scientific paradigm describing the origin, evolution and future of the Universe.
An 11-year-old girl in the England town of Northampton recorded video of a strange fireball UFO on Saturday, May 31.
The Daily Star describes that the witness, Katie Real, “noticed the strange glowing orb performing loops in the sky as she went to shut her curtain on Saturday evening.” She used her mother’s laptop to record video of the UFO as it “danced” across the sky. Her siblings also observed the flaming UFO.

Katie’s mother, Fiona Fearon, reportedly contacted local airfield Sywell Aerodrome, but representatives there said they had no knowledge about the fireball UFO. Fearon considered the possibility that the UFO could have been ball lightning, but she dismissed that option because there was no lightning in the area on the day of the sighting.
Local newspaper Northampton Chronicle & Echo also called Sywell Aerodrome, but the answer the paper received was completely different from the one given to Fearon. The Chronicle reports that a spokesperson from the control tower at Sywell confirmed that the fireball UFO was a glider with fireworks. According to the paper, Jeff Tower from the control tower (if that’s his real name . . .) explained,
We had a big exhibition on and it was part of a flying display at sunset . . . The glider shoots out flames from its wings. It was part of an organised and controlled display . . . We did it last year and again this year on Saturday.

An aviation festival called AeroExpo UK took place from May 30 through June 1 at the Sywell Aerodome. And an aerobatic flight company called gliderFX performed at this festival.

Although it is strange that Fearon was allegedly told by someone at the airfield that the UFO had nothing to do with Sywell, it does appear that this fireball UFO was most likely a glider performing at the aviation festival there.

The more the child practices, the more dangerous he will become to unwanted spirits; teach a child: the greatest warrior is the one who never has to pull his sword from his scabbard.

Eerie footage of a giant UFO slowly approaching the International Space Station is circulating online.
The mysterious object appears to grow in size whilst slowly revolving.
We're not convinced - but others definitely are.
The description accompanying the video says: "This is MONUMENTAL in the search for proof of an alien presence."
Hmm...
The video was recorded in March so if it was a rather conspicuous alien craft had approached the international space community's pride and joy, they're keeping mighty quiet about it...

A SCHOOLGIRL captured incredible footage of a fireball dancing in the skies above her home in Northampton.
Katie Real, 11, noticed the strange glowing orb performing loops in the sky as she went to shut her curtain on Saturday evening.
The large ball of flames is seen racing across the sky before it dips and dives close to the houses below.
Katie's mum Fiona Fearon, 30, revealed that her excited daughter captured the footage on her laptop.
She said: "Initially we thought it could be a plane on fire but it appeared to be dancing across the sky.
"It was an amazing sight. It's very weird.
"They were very excited by it. It looked like a ball of fire moving around in the sky.
"It just seems to sort of float there, spin around and then disappear behind a clump of trees."
Baffled as to what the UFO could actually be, Mrs Fearon rung up the local airfield – but they told her it had nothing to do with them.
She added: "I've read about these strange lights appearing during thunder storms called ball lightning but there was not lightning on Saturday night so it's a mystery."
