Je zou denken dat in een ruimdenkende, kosmopolitische stad als New York geen haan kraait naar een beetje naakt op straat, maar dat is buiten Eva Mendes gerekend. Haar nieuwste reclamecampagne voor Calvin Klein doet de gemoederen in de stad hoog oplopen.
Heel wat New Yorkers hebben al geklaagd over het vulgaire karakter van de reclamepanelen in hun stad, en eisen dat ze verwijderd worden. Het is niet zozeer het halfnaakte lijf van Mendes dat op bezwaren stuit - zeg nu zelf - maar vooral het feit dat ze iets té suggestief de onderbroek van haar mannelijke collega naar beneden trekt.
Het is niet de eerste keer dat Mendes voor controverse zorgt. Een paar dagen geleden werd een reclamespot waarin ze net iets te veel van haar borsten liet zien, uit de ether gehaald. (bdr)
