En wat met deze dan? Die heb ik meegebracht van een beurs in Folkstone, ik ben denk ik 3 keer het kanaal overgestoken om deze beurs en webstrijd te zien want daar komt al dat naam en faam heeft in ons wereldje tesamen.. uit gans Europa en zelfs Amerika.. men trekt nogal zijn oogjes open als je dat ziet staan want meestal staan daar dan de originele ..de masters dus van wat wij dan schilderen
Ik had de ganse dag nog niks gekocht want in feite was het daar duurder met de hoge pond dan wat we voor hetzelfde figuurtje betaalden in "het winkelke" in Antwerpen ..Tomker noemde het.. hoe gevaarlijk om daar binnen te stappen!!! zeker eens ze een bancontact hadden :lol:
Dus ik loop nog zo wat rond en ineens zie ik op een stand iets compleet anders staan.. ik was meteen verkocht hé.. vond dat zo speciaal, ze waren wel zéér groot.. ik schat schaal 1:6 maar ze hadden iets.. degene die ik het mooist vond ging over de Indiaanse legende van "The trickster" er bestond van alles maar die dus heb ik die gekocht en was er ZO blij mee dat ik heel de weg terug op bus en boot met dat figuur in mijn handen zat
Wie er niet zo blij mee was dat was onze voorzitter die het figuur omschreef als een tuinkabouter (door de omvang waarschijnlijk), het was gewoon zijn ding niet en omdat hij iemand was en is die zijn mening zei.. wel dat wist ik dan ook.. het leuke is dat ik met de "tuinkabouter" een zilveren medaille gehaald heb (in de fantasy categorie) .. wat hebben we daar lol mee gehad.. wij wel.. hij niet.. moet eens een andere foto nemen.. er ziet zo'n blauwe schijn op..

I hadn't bought anything yet because in fact with the English pound being that high it was cheaper to buy the same figurine from "the shop" in Antwerp.. Tomker was the shop's name .. how dangerous to get in there!!! and that was even more the truth when they installed a card-reader :lol:
So I walk a around a bit en what catches my eye? Something so different.. I was sold the moment I saw it.. I thought it was so special but they were BIG.. I guess the scale was about 1:6 but even then.. the one I wanted was from a Indian legend of the "The Trickster" all the figurines were originals.. so I bought that one and was ever so happy with it that I couldn't let it out of my hands all the way back on the bus and boat The one that wasn't very happy with it was our president at that time.. he called it a garden gnome (because of the size probably), it just wasn't his thing and because he was and still is a person that speaks his mind I knew his opinion on it... the funny part is that I won a silver medal with it in the fantasy category.. boy did we have a ball with that.. well we did.. he didn't.. pic isn't that great.. should take a new one..
