Hiier zijn we terug dan.. eentje die al wat jaren oud is.. een poilu uit 1915.. de reden dat op de basis er ook een jaartal is op vermeld heeft te maken met de kleur van zijn uniform.. het is veel lichter dan wat het later geworden is doordat de stof niet meer ingevoerd werd maar in Frankrijk zelf werd gemaakt.. de keren dat ik in de straat hiernaast heb gestaan om te zien hoe er zo'n buis juist uit zag en ik het het best kon schilderen..waar het roest was en zo.. ik denk dat de mensen moeten gedacht hebben dat er iets mis was met mij.. dit figuurtje heeft goud gehaald bij de "gevorderden "en zelfs een best of show.. daarna hebben ze het reglement veranderd zodat de best of show alleen uit de "masters" kon komen... men jureerd natuurlijk volgens categorie en men is veel kritischer om punten te geven in de "masters" dan in de "gevorderden" ... en minder bij de "beginners" daar kijkt men wat er goed aan geschilderd is maar bij de "masters" zoekt men fouten:wink:
Here are we again.. one that's already a couple years old.. a poilu from 1915.. the reason that it's specified on the title of the base is the fact that the uniform is that the color of the uniform is a lot lighter then what it became after-wards because the fabric wasn't imported anymore because of the war and was produced in France itself.. the times I stood in the next street where there were still that type of pipes so I would know how to paint them like the ought to with rust and all.. I think people up there must have thought there was something wrong with me.. this figurine won a gold medal in the "advanced" category and was even "best of show".. they changed the rules for best of show after-wards so that it could only come from the "masters" .. one judges along the category where the figurine is in so points that you get in the "advanced "wouldn't haven been given in the "masters" as they're more critical judged.. one is more lenient with the "beginners" there the judges look for the good things the painter has done.. in the masters it's looking for faults :wink:
