Cold in South Africa

One of the Mother's day cards that I made. 

This is a very cold day in South Africa. 15 Degrees celcius!!!! 

Now winter is really starting to evolve... 

I was spoilt with breakfast in bed and gifts from my

three men on Mom's day. How blessed am I!

I got this special thought in Afrikaans from one
of my clients:

Ek't 'n tuintjie geplant waar

'Dankies' weelderig groei.

Waar 'Kan en help'
en 'Kom tog weer'
en 'Ag dis niks nie'
bloei.

Bossies 'Bly om jou te sien',
boompies 'Laat my toe'
en rye 'Sit maar'.

'Ekskuus' groei geil
en 'Laggies' kol op kol.

Daar's plate en plate
'Asselief' en
'Soentjies'...
beddings vol...

As hul vra hoekom
daar soveel mooi goed groei,
se ek
dis omdat daar 'n
JESUS stroompie vloei

Crafts galore!

We moved into a very old, broken down, extremely
neglected house, which we are busy revamping.  It takes
a lot of energy and effort to go DIY, but room by room we are
making progress. (Thank God!).

Whenever I find a free moment I make necklaces or crosses.
I've sold quite a few Swarovski crosses and beads.  Try to keep
my prices down and are so greatful for the regular customers.
My hobby has now become a second income and a necessity
for sanity...

Rejoice

Thank you for signing my guest book (the few that did).

All that I want to share for now is that God created us to have a free will.  You and I can choose to smile, choose to be friendly and choose to develop our talents and bless creation with that. 

I asked the Lord to show me where I must go with my life after having two babies close together.  Didn't feel like teaching any more.

And it all started out with cardmaking six years ago...

My mom showed me a few techniques and off I went... Very shy... to our local home industry. 

When my first card was sold, some more followed and then I started doing decoupage...

Update at last!

oops:Didn't keep my commitment.  But here is my update - rather late than never.  Autumn is peeping here in South Africa. 
Because my mother tongue is Afrikaans I understand the site's origin a little - Afrikaans was derived from Dutch.

Therefore I was in shock when I realised this was actually a blog for the elderly. I am interested to know the age of you who reads this blog. Feel  free to reply.

Very busy with my grade 0  and 1 kiddies. They are a busy joy.God is really doing great things in and through their small lifes. My husband is climbing the corporate ladder and is performing very well at his job.  We praise God for that!.  He and kids went to 'n big rugby match yesterday afternoon (they know by now to count me out... rugby is not one of my passions).  By the way my husband helped out with the Dendermondse rugby club when he was still a teacher...

My mom and dad had their 40th wedding anniversary recently.  It was quite a festivity!  I ( with the help of my husband) created a slide show "surprise" for the occasion.  Was great fun and took me  54 hours to create.  Inserted pictures from their wedding day, youth, etc.; added sound effects which caused a few good laughs.

I will include the poem that I write for my parents.  Take note - I have full copyright!! No publishing without my permission thanks.  The lucky ones that know Flemish and Dutch might understand some of it.

Creativity was born

As you know by now, I am a housewife somewhere in Africa...I am
blessed with a fabulous husband and two lovely kids (my big bubble and my small bubbles...)

I was a teacher but became a stay-at-home mom when the eldest was born a few years ago.

Then "project sanity" as I call it, started.  God blessed me with so may ideas and I just want to share pictures of simple  things I make (and sometines sell).

Because I do laundry, drive the kids to school and have to do all those mom-wife-woman things, I will only be able to log on to my blog when I have me-time.

Any uplifting comments and blessings are welcome, otherwise silence is golden.

Once a month I will update and share a blessing.

Matthew 6:26 - Look at the birds of the air...Are you not of more value than they? (NKJ version, 1982).

....Poverty of purpose is far worse than poverty of purse!

PS Above you can see an example of the jewelry that I make.  It made such a lovely composition when I used small broken glass beads and glued it onto the cross.  And that's exactly what God does.  He takes a normal broken being like me and is actively and lovingly involved in my life to bring out His glory and splendour!!
