Dreaming...

My husband has a dream...
and in order to realise this dream he obtained his
boatmasters'certificate last month.
I could NOT omit knitting him a couple of hard-wearing
and warm sailing sweaters...

Knit in the round, completely seamless and in body
proportions. F.ex. for the sleeves 1/5 th of the
body stitches are casted on and increased to 1/3rd
of these stitches.
It's just perfect. Will knit this again.

Model: Seamless hybrid uit:
Knitting without tears
Elizabeth Zimmerman

I have knitted in the round up to the underarms on a Brother knitting machine.
From that point on I have knitted by hand on double pointed needles.
You can see no difference. I allways try to enter the right needle size.
It's evident, but I trust my feeling and never look at the needle size
mentioned on the band.

I didn't know what to to with these two "little"
peaces of fabric, too beautiful to stay in the
cupboard.
I made a needle/crochet holder:

Kennen jullie Madame Zsazsa's website?
 http://mmezsazsaordent.blogspot.com/2011/01/archief-2.html

The site of madame Zsazsa is frequently visited by young
people such as my daughter and some of her friends.
It provides free sewing patterns.
Perhaps you can get inspired?

a little present from my daughter...

This scarf is made by my friend Viviane.
Although it's not blocked, I couln't resist taking
a picture and show you this beautiful thing:
It's made with a handdyed yarn, 100% Silk and a
Grignasco Silk/Mohair blend

Grignasco.
