Frederick J. Spriet of St. Charles The funeral Mass for Frederick J. Spriet, 83, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Patrick Church, 408 Cedar Street, St. Charles. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., St. Charles. Born June 22, 1927, in Geneva, the son of the late Edwin and Clara Spriet, he died Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at Delnor Community Hospital Geneva. Fred was a veteran of the World War II serving in the Navy on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Enterprise. Before his retirement he was employed as the supervisor of assessments for Kane County for 27 years. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of 63 years; three children, Linda Holinka of South Elgin, Laurie (Greg) Torrence of Geneva and Jeffrey Spriet of Sussex, Wis; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Beverly Harrison; and two brothers, Edwin and Ralph Spriet. Contributions may be made to St. Patrick School Building
