    Hallo, all of you !

Our 3 days visit to the big city was OK, in fact it has been very positive : everyone was very friendly and helpfull.  Because our Spanish isn`t too good  yet (learing every day) it was much needed to meet nice people.
After a safe flight - partially in business class just because our TV screens didn't work - it took some time to adjust to the time- and altitude difference (2.240 m).  So our days started early in the moring and we had plenty of time to explore the city.  We strolled along the squares with beautiful buildings, drank our first tequilla accompanied by marriachi musicians, visited the museum of antropology which gave us an idea what we will see during the rest of our travel.

We took a luxurious bus to Queretaro, north, where Paul wanted to visit the Bosal plant.
The city itself was very nice: well maintained squares, flowers and tropical trees all around.  Here we saw a lot of indigenous people selling their crafts. Schoolchildren were very interested in our language, our names, and the colour of our eyes.

From there we decided to travel further west and take the opportuity  to visit the valley where the Monarch butterflies have their wintering ground.  They migrate from South East Canada and fly 4.500 km to enjoy the micro climate.  We only had to make a detour of 400 km - and more than a 1000 curves by bus - to see this exceptional natural beauty!  After the bus drive we had to climb a few km through beautyful pine woods to finally reach the place where millions of bright orange-coloured butterflies hang in huge clusters from branches in the trees and fill the sky swirling around.

After 2 nights in Zitacuaro we continued towards Cuernavaca.  Again a nice city: visit to the cathedral, the main sqaure, historic colonial buildings - including the palace of Cortes.  Lots of ressemblance with the Spanish cities that we visited last June.  We also went to see our first archeological pyramid of pre-Colombian times. Nice weather too : I even got a sunburn !

From there again ... on the bus for a few hours through scenic countryside ... towards Puebla, where we are at this moment.

Greetings from both of us !
