Getting inspired

THIRD TIME!

Falling seems to be my destiny this year.
My husband blames me for being careless.
I think I am paying too much attention,
but misery seems to cling on me this year.
Think I am going to light a candle
and pray 2013 comes quickly.
Anyway, time to knit!

Vallen lijkt mijn bestemming te zijn dit jaar.
Mijn echtgenoot denkt dat ik niet genoeg oplet.
Ik denk dat ik te voorzichtig ben.
Ik steek maar een kaarsje aan
en hoop dat 2013 spoedig komt.
In ieder geval:
breitijd!

In het kader van de Olympische spelen was er een projekt
op Ravelry: gemeenschappelijk breien tijdens het kijken naar de
olympics: de Ravellenic games 2012.

Dreaming...

Mijn echtgenoot heeft een droom...
en in de hoop dat deze zich ooit verwezenlijkt heeft
hij vorige maand zijn algemeen vaarbrevet behaald.
Dat vroeg om enkele degelijke zeemanstruien.

My husband has a dream...
and in order to realise this dream he obtained his
boatmasters'certificate last month.
I could NOT omit knitting him a couple of hard-wearing
and warm sailing sweaters...

Knit in the round, completely seamless and in body
proportions. F.ex. for the sleeves 1/5 th of the
body stitches are casted on and increased to 1/3rd
of these stitches.
It's just perfect. Will knit this again.

Dit model wordt volledig op maat gebreid zonder naden
 en met lichaamsverhoudigen. Zo worden voor de mouwen
 bv. 1/5 van de lichaamssteken opgezet en gemeerderd tot
 1/3 van de steken.
De pasvorm is gewoonweg perfect.





I have knitted in the round up to the underarms on a Brother knitting machine.
From that point on I have knitted by hand on double pointed needles.
You can see no difference. I allways try to enter the right needle size.
It's evident,but I trust my feeling and never look at the needle size
mentioned on the band.

I didn't know what to to with these two "little"
peaces of fabric, too beautiful to stay in the
cupboard.

It's made with a handdyed yarn, 100% Silk and a
Grignasco Silk/Mohair blend







Deze sjaal is gemaakt door mijn vriendin Viviane.
Ik vond hem erg mooi en het zou spijtig zijn hem niet te
bloggen! Hij is gemaakt uit 100% zijde, handgeverfd
van FijnKnit en een Zijde/Mohair mengeling van
Grignasco.
