Pompom scarf/Pomponsjaal

I saw this scarf on 1 funkyknitwit’s blog (one hell of a knitter!) (http://1funkyknitwit.blogspot.com/ ) and fell in love, so I tried to make a similar one.
You can make as many scarfs as you wish, but you may not sell this pattern as I put 
copyright on it.

This pattern will only be clear to the better knitter. I am sorry for this.

Cast on 25 st.

RS: K6, P1, K5, P1(center stitsh), K5, P1, K6

BS: Knit stitches as they appear, except for the first and the last st, which was always a knit stitch to keep the border straight.
Row 3: K6, M1pearlwise, P1, M1pearlwise, K5, P1 (center stitch),

          K5,M1   id. as first part.

Row 5, K6, M1pearlwise, P3, M1pearlwise, K5, P1 (center stitch),

          K5, M1 id. as first part.

Continue increasing  until you have 51 stitches on the needle, increasing in the last row 1 stitch pearlwise on each side of the center stitch, which is included in these 51 stitches (you have 3 pearl center stitches).

arran cable 1 for the cable part of the scarf, keeping all side and center stitches in pattern, until  desired length minus the end-part of the scarf. Start at row 17 of the chart.

A T T E N T I O N !

You need to make a hole to pass the pompon through and close the scarf.

I started this in the last complete patternrepeat at the same height of  the last bobble and continued in this separate way till the first bobble after the last crossing cable in the scarf (= during 8 rows in which you will need to devide the scarf in 2).

I placed the bobbles on the 7^th and the 23th row (instead of the 9^{th  and 21st} ) of the chart and in the 15^th row (instead off row 21) as well  I placed the bobbles in the 15^th row on the  9^th and 17^th stitch.

Stitches 1 to 3 are skipped and replaced by the 4 side stitches. Hope my picture helps to clarify.

Make 2 pompons and sew on cast on and cast off row, wrinkling these stitches more or less. Hope these notes helped one way or the other.

Toen ik het nieuws voor het eerst hoorde was ik verslagen. Hoe kijkt een moeder in de ogen van haar kind, waaraan de dokter voor hen nét vertelt  dat hij in levensgevaar verkeert?  Je weet het niet.  Het gebeurt alleen. Je bent er, je hoort het en... je kijkt.  Niemand die beseft hoe je je op dat moment voelt en hoe hulpeloos en pijnlijk die blik is. Mijn grote, knappe zoon is zwaar ziek. Het is al een tijd aan de gang, maar dit is het.  Dit is het moment waarop het niet meer bij pillen blijft en hij op een donorlijst komt – of beter – de receiverlijst...   Zijn nieren begeven het en hij moet dialyseren.                           We staan naast jou Kristoff. Papa, mama, Liesbeth, meme en vele anderen. Samen lukt het ons.

When I first heard the news, I couldn’t bear it.  How does a mother look in the eyes of her son to whom the doctor just said his life is in danger?  You don’t know.  It just happens. You are there, you hear it and… you look.  Nobody knows how painful this is and how helpless you feel.  My big, handsome boy is heavily ill.  We knew, but this is it.  This is the moment where pills won’t do it any longer and he gets on the Donor-List – or better – a Receiver List.  His kidneys gave up and he neads dialysis.    We are there for you Kristoff.  Daddy, mommy, Liesbeth, grandmom and many others.  We’ll do it together.
