Vliegen naar " remote areas " in Kalimantan kan met DAS ( Dirangatara Air Service ) en me MAF  ( Missionary Air Fellowship) .
Vluchten naar het binnenland - meestal air-strips- zijn zwaar gesubsidieerd en gewoonlijk volgeboekt!
Deze vluchten zijn essentieel voor de lokale Dayaks . Voor de toerist zijn deze vluchten NIET gesubsidieerd- vandaar de relatief hoge tarieven.
Vliegen naar DATA DIAN ( 2 x per week) en LONG AMPUNG ( 1 x per week) in de APOKAYAN Highlands is eerder duur. Boek 3 tot 4 weken op voorhand!

Logeer in Kumai in Hotel Garuda ( met Air-con kamers).

Interessant om weten zijn de geldige ENTRY-points voor toeristen  (met een geldig inreisvisum ).
Volgens mij zijn Pontianak en Balikpapan de twee (visa-free ??) entries by AIR.
By road zou ENTIKONG ook toegelaten zijn !?
Volgens L.P. zou " Tarakan, in East Kalimantan, accepts new arrivals as long as they already
have visas."
