Ik was in Iran het beruchte jaar 1979...Khomeini juist aan de macht. Ik ging een paar keer per jaar naar Iran om inkopen te doen voor mijn zaak in "Perzische Tapijten". Maar in 1979 wachtte mij een verrassing...strenge controle op het vliegveld,mannen met geweren overal,na 21u verbod om nog op straat te gaan,hotels leeg,restauraints gesloten,geen alcool,geen coca cola.In de straten,gewapende en gemaskerde mannen. Ze schoten zo maar in de lucht om je angst aan te jagen.De,sfeer was beangstigend..Ik werd eens meegsleept in één van hun beruchte betogingen(die je nu ook ziet op tv).Toch nam ik en vliegtuig naar Isphahan.Daar was het iets kalmer,maar oh zoveel vernietigd .De foto's zijn genomen in Isphahan.Gelukkig de mooie "blauwe" moskee was ongeschonden.(Die kun je zien op de foto). Je kunt je vragen stellen bij het regime van nu en dat van de Shah..wat was,is beter?
