​Early 2009 I took the journey from financial corporations to filmmaking after getting laid-off from a top Investment Bank. This was rather a new beginning for me to begin my dream of making films. On the other hand, I was also a dancer from my childhood. In my career change, I made a decision to create a film about dance. However, what was it about dance?   ​ During this research period, I was shocked but pleased to discover that dance actually helps people with Parkinson’s. I didn’t believe it at first, but when I was with my fellow filmmaker and attended a Parkinson’s support group where people with Parkinson’s disease were moving and dancing. This was an eye opener for me. In this course of the journey, I met Dr. Sheree Loftus and dancer Pamela Quinn. These two actually took me to the next level of creating a film surrounding Parkinson’s disease and dance. This is where I decided to make a short fictional film about Parkinson’s disease.
My movie ‘My Angel My Hero’ echoes the sound of music and dance to heal Parkinson’s disease. This film was screened at 22 film festivals around the world. The film has won awards around the world.
While I was enjoying my film’s acclamation, I started an online video campaign for Parkinson’s patients. In this campaign,  I ended up producing and editing about six videos submitted by six amazing and inspiring Parkison’s patents about their PD story. This was the time when I thought I needed to take this online video project to the next level with a full-fledged team.
The year 2014 was an incredible year though exhilarating it was also difficult and tedious. However, making a Non-Profit was the biggest and the most challenging task for me. I was still unsure and needed someone to push me to the next level. That’s where Uzma, my wife, encouraged me to follow my dream. I realized that my passion for helping others in the Non-Profit sector could help millions of people who are suffering from this illness.
My Angel My Hero Mission is to bring awareness towards different social causes through films and videos. Our focus 2015-2016 is to make everyone cognizant of Parkinson’s disease. I believe life is much simpler than it appears. We can live a harmonious life if we communicate, listen, love, and learn from each other. Through love and helping others, we can make the world a better and more comfortable place.

afscheid

verleden dinsdag een grote stap in mijn leven , ik nam afscheid van mijn praatgroep, daar ik het de laatste keren dat we samenkwamen mij zo slecht voelde heb ik het maar opgegeven;

ik had altijd den indruk dat ik niet voldeed indien men die andere groepen bekeken ,maar daar is er leiding met meerdere personen ,die maken uitstappen en organiseren vanalles ,alleen kan men dat onmogelijk

nu de afscheidskaarten dat ik kreeg bewijzen dat dat ze best tevreden waren, maar toch voel ik mij niet voldaan maar onze  radio die bloeit verder open ,wordt een echte wereldzender ,het is echt een droom , en wens met deze jp de cremer nog ens te feliciteren
