This is very embarrassing. I just checekd and you are right, it reads snoring. I was convinced that it didn't, but I was wrong. I must have read it in several other reviews and accepted it without double checking. I did think I remembered I felt there was something awkward about the sentence, and while rereading my copy I do still feel it reads a little awkwardly, but yes, it does read snoring, and I was completely in the wrong to just accept that fault from other reviews without double checking. I feel very unprofessional now, especially since I already felt very bad about my opinion on the book while receiving a review copy. I have deleted this sentence from my review, and I am very very sorry for what happened. Is there anything else I can do?
