Napoleon
En hier is ie dan.. Napoleon .. nog zo'n figuurtje dat zo gelijkend gesculpteerd is dat het niet meer normaal is.. ik heb het schilderij gezien in Les Invalides in Parijs en het is echt als twee druppels water.. het toont Napoleon te Fontainebleau bij zijn overgave op 6 april 1814 waarna bij verbannen werd naar het Eiland Elba.. de titel op de basis van het figuur is "La fin du rêve" Je kan nooit geloven hoeveel maal ik dat figuur in de vuilbak willen werpen heb.. je houd het niet voor mogelijk hoe slecht alle stukken in elkaar pasten, echt niet te doen
.. de keus van een arm die zweefd of een opening aan de schouder .. voeten die abnormaal staan .. een stoel die zweeft eens Napoleon er op geplaatst werd.. het was goed dat het hoofd zo prachtig en gelijkend was want het was echt het enige die mij tegenhield om het weg te gooien.. dat en de prijs die ik voor de doos betaald had

Well here he is then.. Napoleon.. another figurine where the resemblance is so striking that I don't think it's normal anymore.. I saw the painting where this is taken from in Les Invalides in Paris and it shows Napoleon after abdicating on April 6, 1814... after that he left for a life in exile on the isle of Elbe.. the tittle on the base of the figurine is "La fin du rêve" what means the end of the dream..
You'll never know how many times this figurine was close to the bin.. you wouldn't believe how bad the parts fitted..well not fitted
.. the choice of a arm that floats or a big opening at shoulder height ... feet that are placed in the most abnormal position.. a chair that floats once Napoleon was put on it.. it was positive that the head was so stunning because that was the only thing that hold me back to throw it away.. that and the high price I payed for the box 
.. dat schilderen was een nachtmerrie voor mij en sindsdien heb ik dus nooit nog een highlander gekocht 
ik was wel zooooo fier op mezelf toen het toch lukte.. het heeft me een zilver medaille opgeleverd op een wedstrijd in Antwerpen.. toen ik het de tweede keer inzette twee jaar nadat ik het al eens ingezet had en er niks mee won.. jury is altijd jury .. de tweede keer had ik het maar meegenomen omdat de display er beter uit zag als er een figuurtje meer op stond dus je ziet maar..
