Dat dit wereldnieuws was is geen verrassing. Ook vanuit India kwamen verschillende berichten binnen van medeleven met de slachtoffers van de aanslagen in Brussel en met de Belgische bevolking. Hieronder een paar reacties, zonder verder commentaar.
It was no surprise that this news would go around the world. From India we received several messages of condolences for the victims of the attacks in Brussels and of sympathy for the Belgian population. Here are some reactions, without any further comment.
“I was watching the news just now, horrible. Explosions at Brussels Airport and metro. My heartfelt condolences to all those people who died today morning at airport and metro stations. Terror strikes peaceful Belgium country. ... Let us pray for peace and harmony in the world.”

“We shall pray for your country that peace may reign. We too join in your sorrow due to those who were killed by terrorists yesterday, that their souls rest in peace. “
Het verheugt mij dat ik jullie deze brief mag schrijven. Ik hoop dat jullie het allemaal goed stellen en voorbereidingen treffen voor Pasen. Hier is wat informatie vanuit Maski dat ik met jullie wil delen. We hadden een uitstap en bezochten belangrijke historische plaatsen in het noorden van Karnataka en op 26 januari vierden we “Republic Day” onze nationale feestdag.
I am very happy to write this letter to you. I hope you are all keeping fine and preparing for Easter. Here is some interesting news from Maski we want to share with you. We had one day picnic and visited important historical places in north Karnataka and on 26th January we had Republic Day celebration.

Republic Day: op26 januari wordt ieder jaar het nationale feest “Indian Republic Day” gevierd, de dag waarop de Indiase nationale grondwet in 1950 tot stand kwam / 26th January is the day which is celebrated as Indian Republic Day every year, the day the National Constitution came under force in 1950.

We naderen het einde van dit academisch jaar en de kinderen zijn nu volop bezig met hun examens. Ze doen het goed en ik hoop dat ze allemaal goede resultaten zullen behalen. Tegelijk maken we ons ook klaar voor een vreugdevolle viering van het Paasfeest.
Het is hier zeer warm en we kampen met water tekort. Er is dit jaar geen tweede oogst. Bid samen met ons voor een vroeg regenseizoen.
As we near the end of this academic year children are busy with the exams. They are doing well and I hope all will get good results. At the same time we are also preparing for the joyful celebration of Easter.
The weather is very hot and we are facing the scarcity of water. There is no second crop this year. Please do pray for the early rains.
Berichtgeving: door omstandigheden heeft het bijwerken van onze site de laatste tijd wat te wensen over gelaten en daar zijn wij ons van bewust. Verschillende factoren hebben hierbij een rol gespeeld. Het is onze betrachting om deze site minstens maandelijks bij te werken en we gaan deze regelmaat opnieuw proberen te handhaven. Updating: due to circumstances our site hasn’t been kept very up to date lately and we are aware of this. Various elements did play a role in this diminished reporting. Fiscale attesten: het heeft lang geduurd maar ons geduld werd beloond want wij hebben deze week de bevestiging gekregen dat onze vzw ook voor de jaren 2016 tot en met 2019 erkend wordt als een instelling voor hulpverlening aan ontwikkelingslanden. Dit houdt concreet in dat wij fiscale attesten mogen afleveren voor giften van minimum 40,00 Euro (huidig minimum bedrag). De giften die reeds dit jaar werden gedaan vallen uiteraard in deze toelating.
Fiscal attestation (only for foster parents paying income taxes in Belgium): it took some time but our patience was rewarded since we were advised this week that our project is recognized as providing help to developing countries and this also for the period 2016 till end 2019. An attestation can be obtained for all gifts exceeding the actual minimum of 40,00 Euro.
