    Tango Delle Rose
Composer(s): Aldo Bottero - Carol Raven - Filippo Schreier
    Performer(s): Connie Francis
    and multiple other artists

Là, là tra le rose e i fior
    l'idillio incominciò
    e furon baci
    carezze audaci
    poi le follie della passion
    "T'amo", ella sussurra
e un bacio ardente la fa tremar
    Ed al suo dolce amor
    sussurra ognor così

    "Amami! Baciami con passione!
    Prendimi! Stringimi con ardor!
Coglimi! La mia vita è come un fiore
    presto fiorisce e presto muore
E'sol per te il mio cuor!"

Ma, ma venne un triste dì
    e il loro amor finì
    come una rosa
    dal gelo uccisa
    la sua bellezza presto sfiorì
    Folle, nel giardin di rose
si strugge invano nel suo dolor
    Piange e come allor
    canta al perduto amor

    "Amami! Baciami con passione!
    Prendimi! Stringimi con ardor!
Coglimi! La mia vita è come un fiore
    presto fiorisce e presto muore
E'sol per te il mio cuor!"

Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter
    Composer(s): Trevor Peacock
    Performer(s): Herman's Hermits

Mrs. Brown you've got a lovely daughter
Girls as sharp as her are somethin' rare
But it's sad, she doesn't love me now
She's made it clear enough it ain't no good to pine

She wants to return those things I bought her
Tell her she can keep them just the same
Things have changed, she doesn't love me now
She's made it clear enough it ain't no good to pine

Walkin' about, even in a crowd, well
You'll pick her out, makes a bloke feel so proud

If she finds that I've been round to see you (round to see you)
Tell her that I'm well and feelin' fine (feelin' fine)
Don't let on, don't say she's broke my heart
I'd go down on my knees but it's no good to pine

Walkin' about, even in a crowd, well
You'll pick her out, makes a bloke feel so proud

If she finds that I've been round to see you (round to see you)
Tell her that I'm well and feelin' fine (feelin' fine)
Don't let on, don't say she's broke my heart

    Go, Jimmy, Go
    Composer(s): Doc Pomus; Mort Shuman
    Performer(s): Jimmy Clanton;
Alton Ellis; Bob Marley; Del Shannon

I told her when it comes to talking
I'm the sweetest sweet-talker in the world
She said you better start talking if you want me to be your girl
And she said, "Go, Jimmy, go"
    She said, "Go, Jimmy, go"
Well, I talked her off the floor when she said, "Go, Jimmy, go"
I told when it comes to dancing
I'm the best young dancer in the land
Well, she looked at me with a twinkle in her eyes
And then she took my hand
And she said, "Go, Jimmy, go"
    She said, "Go, Jimmy, go"
Well, I talked her off the floor when she said, "Go, Jimmy, go"
And she said, "Go, Jimmy, go"
    She said, "Go, Jimmy, go"
Well, I talked her off the floor when she said, "Go, Jimmy, go"
I told her when it comes to kissing
    I ain't nothing but a kissing fool
She started to giggle when I told her that I'd teach her
Things she'd never learn in school
And she said, "Go, Jimmy, go"
    She said, "Go, Jimmy, go"
Well, I talked her off the floor when she said, "Go, Jimmy, go"
    "Go, Jimmy, go"
    "Go, Jimmy, go"

    O amor me conheceu
    Se esfregou na minha vida
    E me deixou assim

Homens, eu nem fiz a soma
De quantos rolaram no meu camarim
Bocas chegavam a Roma pasando por mim
    Ela de braços abertos
    Fazendo promessas
    Meus deuses, enfim!
    Eles gozando depressa
    E cheirando a gim
    Eles querendo na hora
    Por dentro, por fora
    Por cima e por trás
Juro por Deus, de pés juntos
    Que nunca mais

    Mr. Zero
    Composer(s): Bob Lind
    Performer(s): The Yardbirds

Diamonds of silvery rain in the fountains
And ten-cent red roses from department store counters
Watching the moonlight reflect off the river
Beside where the trains cross the bridge and slow down
Trains with white letters on black iron sides
And white rushing water that all rolls away
And Little Miss Someone does not want to stay
Everyone's moving, with places to go
And Mr. Zero, he sadly stands still
As the water goes one way, the train goes another
Mr. Zero stands still and Miss Someone don't bother

Yesterday's kiss will be cold by tomorrow
As campfires of midnight dissolve in the darkness
The room is deserted, the blinds have been drawn
Little Miss Someone has packed up and gone
Fast moving cars disappear down the highway
With signs that say "hitch-hikers: do not disturb"
Mr. Zero looks quietly up from the curb
Morning has faded, and shadows have grown
And Little Miss Someone is on her way home
Mr. Zero stands watching, her plane flies above
And with frost-bitten hands waves goodbye to his love

Walks through the park on a bright summer Sunday
And tapestry kittens that hung on the wall
They all die in the air like a soft minor chord
A vacancy sign, and a bulletin board
Mr. Zero is wrapping his jacket around him
Speaking kind words that should have been said long ago
But Little Miss Someone does not want to know
The night is deserted, there's dust on the shelf
Mr. Zero sits lonely and talks to himself
It's too late to change, the fine line has been crossed
The charades are all done, Mr. Zero has lost

    Loving you
Isn't the right thing to do
How can I ever change things
    That I feel

    If I could
Maybe I'd give you my world
    How can I
When you won't take it from me

You can go your own way
    Go your own way
    You an call it
    Another lonely day
You can go your own way
    Go your own way

    Tell me why
    Everything turned around
    Packing up
Shacking up is all you wanna do

    If I could
Baby I'd give you my world
    Open up
    Everything's waiting for you

You can go your own way
    Go your own way
    You an call it
    Another lonely day
You can go your own way
    go your own way

No me gusta ver sufrir a mis hermanos
ni apretarse el cinturón por deuda ajena

    Y si a usted señor
no le ha gustado esta confesión
fúmese un puro bébase un ron
no tenga miedo a esta reflexión...

Why this feeling, why this glow
Why the thrill when you say "Hello"
It's a strange and tender magic you do
    Mister Wonderful, that's you

Why this trembling when you speak
Why this joy when you touch my cheek
I must tell you what my heart knows is true
    Mister Wonderful, that's you

And why this longing to know your charms
To spend forever here in your arms

Oh, there's much more I could say
But the words keep slipping away
And I'm left with only one point of view
    Mister Wonderful, that's you

One more thing, then I'm through
    Mister Wonderful, Mister Wonderful
    Mister Wonderful, I love you

    Go Where You Wanna Go
    Composer(s): John Phillips
    Performer(s): The Mamas & The Papas;
    The 5th Dimension; The Overlanders

You got to go where you want to go
Do what you want to do
With whoever you want to do it with

You got to go where you want to go
Do what you want to do
With whoever you want to do it with

    You don't understand
That a girl like me can love just one man
Three thousand miles, that's how far you'll go
And you said to me "Please don't follow"

'cause you got to go where you want to go
Do what you want to do
With whoever you want to do it with

You got to go where you want to go
Do what you want to do
With whoever you want to do it with

    You don't understand
That a girl like me can love just one man
You' been gone a week, and I tried so hard
Not to be the crying kind
Not to be the girl you left behind

You got to go where you want to go
Do what you want to do
With whoever you want to do it with

You got to go where you want to go
Do what you want to do

    Tango
Composer(s): Brice Homs - Michel Fugain
    Performer(s): Michel Fugain

C'est comme un coup au ventre
    La nuit qui entre
    Et fait battre le sang
    Comme un volcan
À l'heure où dans les rues
    Les pas perdus
    cherchent l'ivresse ou l'inconnu

    Je veux traîner encore
    Là, dans le décor
    De ces histoires
    Du fond des bars
    Sur un air de bandonéon
Et les yeux dans les néons

    Je veux tanguer
    Je veux tango
    Je veux cambrer le dos
Comme à la charge du taureau
    La fièvre sur la peau

    Je veux, je veux danser
    Les yeux fermés
    Le chant de l'exilé
    Le chant de l'homme abandonné
Pour qui la vie n'est plus...
    Qu'un tango

    Quand j'entends cette voix
    Qui cogne au cœur, là
    Qui compte les temps
    Par quatre ou par trois
    Je sens brûler la flamme
    Contre mes hanches
    D'un corps de femme
    Qui se déhanche

    Je veux chanter la plainte
    Où l'amour suinte
De chaque note, à chaque pas
À l'heure où se confondent encore
    Et l'Amour, et la Mort

    Je veux tanguer
    Je veux tango
    Je veux cambrer le dos
Comme à la charge du taureau
    La fièvre sur la peau
    Je veux, je veux danser
    Les yeux fermés
    Le chant de l'exilé
    Le chant de l'homme abandonné
Pour qui la vie n'est plus...
    Qu'un tango

    Mr. Walker, It's All Over
    Composer(s): Gene Crysler
Performer(s): Billie Jo Spears; Lynn Anderson

I left Garden City Kansas with a ticket
And a yen to see New York
I typed eighty words a minute
So your corporation let me go to work
I fetch paper clips and coffee
Even help you dodge your domineering wife
    Mr. Walker, it's all over
I don't like the New York secretary's life

In this building there's a crowd o' guys
With old familiar thoughts upon their minds
Yeah, an' that's a lot of hands a-reaching out
To grab the things that I consider mine
    And the president persues me
Even though he's old and hair a-turnin' white
    Mr. Walker, it's all over
I don't like the New York secretary's life

Well there's a flat in Greenwich Village
That I took because the subway wasn't far
Yeah, but there's a trumpet player upstairs
And below me there's a jumpin' all night bar
And to frost the bitter cake
I have to share the place with bugs and big ol' mice
    Mr. Walker, it's all over
I don't like the New York secretary's life

    Your sweetheart in personnel
Said I should give her written notice like the rest
So I wrote goodbye with my brightest lipstick
Right across her big expensive desk
You'd better call the Times and tell 'em
Put your wanted ad right back in classified
    Mr. Walker, it's all over
I don't like the New York secretary's life

There's a Greyhound at the station
And a Mom at home with open arms for me
Garden City's looking better every minute now
Since I have learned to see
And the boy next door don't know it
But come June he's gonna gain himself a wife
    Mr. Walker, it's all over
I don't like the New York secretary's life
Oh, Mr. Walker, it's all over
I don't like the New York secretary's life
Eah-oh, Mr. Walker, it's all over
I don't like the New York secretary's life
    Mr. Walker ...

    and various other artists

Together we will go our way
together we will leave some day
Together your hand in my hand, together we will make the plans
Together we will fly so high, together tell our friends goodbye
Together we will start life new, together this is what we'll do

Go west, life is peaceful there
Go west, lots of open air
Go west to begin life new
Go west, this is what we'll do
Go west, sun in winter time
Go west, we will do just fine
Go wes t where the skies are blue
Go west, this and more we'll do

Together we will love the beach, together we will learn and teach
Together change our pace of life, together we will work and strive
I love you, I know you love me
I want you happy and carefree
So that's why I have no protest when you say you want to go west

Go west, life is peaceful there
Go west, lots of open air
Go west to begin life new
Go west, this is what we'll do
Go west, sun in winter time
Go west, we will do just fine
Go west where the skies are blue
Go west, this and more we'll do

I know that there are many ways to live there in the sun or shade
Together we will find a place to settle down and live with the space
without the busy pace back east, the hustling, rustling of the feet
I know I'm ready to leave too, so this is what we're going to do

Go west, life is peaceful there
Go west, lots of open air
Go west to begin life new
Go west, this is what we'll do
Go west, sun in winter time
Go west, we will do just fine
Go west where the skies are blue
Go west, this and more we'll do

    Go west...(repeat & fade)

    Tangled Up Puppet
Composer(s): Harry Chapin - Sandy Chapin
    Performer(s): Harry Chapin; Terry Klausner

    I'm a tangled up puppet
    Spinning round in knots
And the more I see what I used to be
The less of you I've got

There was a time that you curled up in my lap; like a child
You'd cling to me smiling, yours eyes wide and wild
Now you slip through my arms, wave a passing hello
Twist away and toss a kiss, laughing as you go

You used to say "Read me a story and sing me songs of love"
For you were Princess Paradise like your wings of a dove
Now I chase you and tease you trying to remake you my own
But you just turn away and say "please leave me alone"

And I'm a tangled up puppet
    All hanging in your strings
    I'm a butterfly in a spider's web
    Fluttering my wings

And the more that I keep dancing
    And spinning round in knots
The more I see what I used to be
And the less of you I've got

You are a drawer full of makeup and rinses and things
You keep changing your moods like your earrings and rings
But tonight while we played tag for five minutes in the yard
Just for a moment I caught you off guard
But now you write your secret poems
In a room just for your dreams
You don't find time to talk to me
    About the things you mean
    And what I mean is

I have watched you take shape from a jumble of parts
And find the grace and form of a fine work of art
Hey, you, my brand new woman, newly come into your own
Don't you know that you don't need to grow up all alone

    Mr. Tenor Man
    Composer(s): Gregory Carrol; Earl Jackson
    Performer(s): Lou Christie

They talk about the bass man, he had success
Oh what they say about him, I couldn't care less
But I'm a tenor man and a-don't you forget
That I have got the sound that the kids love best

(Listen to the tenor man, listen to the tenor man
Listen to the tenor man, ah)

They all come around and we hit the town
They never start screamin' till they hear this sound
Now I don't care about a "boom boom boom"
They don't start to swoon till they hear me croon

(Listen to the tenor man, listen to the tenor man
Listen to the tenor man, ah)

They talk about tenors day and night
Don't care if the sound is wrong or right
All I have to do is open my mouth
Everybody wants to jump and shout

Now, Mr. Bass Man, before you go
Let me hear you "boom boom" just once more
    Together now!

(Listen to the tenor man, listen to the tenor man
Listen to the tenor man, ah)

    Performer(s):
Arthur Godfrey & Mary Martin; Betty Garrett

    (~ denotes male singer)

~I shut off the heat, I put out the cat
~I did everything like you said
My darling, you see, there's no doubt of that
Now will you go to bed?

    ~Say, honey?
    I'm trying to sleep
    ~You know what?
    I'm sure it'll keep
~They're talking of raising the taxes
    You're getting off cheap
    ~But my profits are small
    I know
    ~Politicians are all
    I know, go to sleep
    ~But my dear
    Go to sleep
    ~But my dear
    Go to sleep
    ~OK
    Oh baby?
    ~What is it, my dear?
    You're snoring
    ~Put stuff in your ear!
My mother is thinking of travelling
    ~Make sure she goes west
But our home's in the east
    ~I know
    I just think you're a beast
    ~I know, go to sleep
    But my dear
    ~Go to sleep
    But my dear
    ~Go to sleep

~I ran into your girlfriend, Kitty, she's pretty
    How d'ya tell?
~I asked her to bring George to dinner, he's thinner
    Now ain't that swell
    ~Oh, sweetheart?
    Where's something to throw?
    ~I love you
    Now that's nice to know
~I'm glad that it's you that I married
    I'm warning you, Joe!
    ~Our two daughters are grand
    I know
~But that ain't what we planned
    Now Joe, go to sleep
    ~But my dear
    Go to sleep
    ~But my dear
    Go to sleep

    How d'ya like him!
Keeps me awake and now he goes to sleep!

They've got a sale on fur in town, now
    Don't frown now
    ~I'm not sore
They give you eighteen months to pay, dear
    OK dear?
    ~Order four!

    Oh, poochie?
    ~All right, I give in
    I love you
    ~I give up, you win
I'm glad that it's you that I married
    ~Stop tickling my chin
You can go back to sleep
    ~Oh, no
You were right, it can keep
    ~Oh, no
    Go to sleep
    ~But my dear
    Go to sleep
    ~But my dear
    Go to sleep

(Both) Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep

    Tangled Up In Blue
((Dutch Version: Prachtig In Het Blauw (Bart Peeters) - 2002))
    Composer(s): Bob Dylan
First release by: Bob Dylan - 1975
    Covered by multiple other artists

Early one mornin' the sun was shinin'
    I was layin' in bed
Wond'rin' if she'd changed at all
If her hair was still red
Her folks they said our lives together
    Sure was gonna be rough
They never did like Mama's homemade dress
    Papa's bankbook wasn't big enough
And I was standin' on the side of the road
    Rain fallin' on my shoes
Heading out for the East Coast
Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through
    Tangled up in blue

She was married when we first met
    Soon to be divorced
I helped her out of a jam, I guess
But I used a little too much force
We drove that car as far as we could
    Abandoned it out West
Split up on a dark sad night
    Both agreeing it was best
She turned around to look at me
    As I was walkin' away
I heard her say over my shoulder
"We'll meet again someday on the avenue"
    Tangled up in blue

I had a job in the great north woods
Working as a cook for a spell
But I never did like it all that much
And one day the ax just fell
So I drifted down to New Orleans
Where I happened to be employed
Workin' for a while on a fishin' boat
    Right outside of Delacroix
But all the while I was alone
    The past was close behind
I seen a lot of women
But she never escaped my mind, and I just grew
    Tangled up in blue

She was workin' in a topless place
And I stopped in for a beer
I just kept looking' at the side of her face
    In the spotlight so clear
And later on as the crowd thinned out
I's just about to do the same
She was standing there in back of my chair
Said to me "Don't I know your name?"
I muttered somethin' underneath my breath
She studied the lines on my face
I must admit I felt a little uneasy
When she bent down to tie the laces of my shoe
    Tangled up in blue

She lit a burner on the stove and offered me a pipe
"I thought you'd never say hello," she said
"You look like the silent type"
Then she opened up a book of poems
    And handed it to me
    Written by an Italian poet
    From the thirteenth century
And every one of them words rang true
    And glowed like burnin' coal
    Pourin' off of every page
Like it was written in my soul from me to you
    Tangled up in blue

I lived with them on Montague Street
In a basement down the stairs
There was music in the cafes at night
    And revolution in the air
Then he started into dealing with slaves
And something inside of him died
She had to sell everything she owned
    And froze up inside
And when finally the bottom fell out I became withdrawn
The only thing I knew how to do
Was to keep on keepin' on
    Like a bird that flew
    Tangled up in blue

So now I'm goin' back again
I got to get to her somehow
All the people we used to know
They're an illusion to me now
    Some are mathematicians
    Some are carpenter's wives
Don't know how it all got started
I don't know what they're doin' with their lives
But me, I'm still on the road
    Headin' for another joint
We always did feel the same
We just saw it from a different point of view
    Tangled up in blue

    Mr. Tanner
    Composer(s): Harry Chapin
    Performer(s): Harry Chapin

Mister Tanner was a cleaner from a town in the Midwest
And of all the cleaning shops around he'd made his the best
But he also was a baritone who sang while hanging clothes
He practiced scales while pressing tails and sang at local shows
His friends and neighbors praised the voice that poured out from his throat
They said that he should use his gift instead of cleaning coats

But music was his life, it was not his livelihood
and it made him feel so happy and it made him feel so good
And he sang from his heart and he sang from his soul
He did not know how well he sang
    It just made him whole

His friends kept working on him to try music out full time
A big debut and rave reviews, a great career to climb
Finally they got to him, he would take the fling
A concert agent in New York agreed to have him sing
And there were plane tickets, phone calls, money spent to rent the hall
It took most of his savings but he gladly used them all

But music was his life, it was not his livelihood
and it made him feel so happy and it made him feel so good
And he sang from his heart and he sang from his soul
He did not know how well he sang
    It just made him whole

The evening came, he took the stage, his face set in a smile
And in the half filled hall the critics sat watching on the aisle
But the concert was a blur to him, spatters of applause
He did not know how well he sang, he only heard the flaws
But the critics were concise, it only took four lines
But no one could accuse them of being over kind

Mr. Martin Tanner, Baritone, of Dayton, Ohio made his Town Hall debut last night
    He came well prepared
but unfortunately his presentation was not up to contemporary professional standards
His voice lacks the range of tonal color necessary to make it consistently interesting
Full time consideration of another endeavor might be in order

He came home to Dayton and was questioned by his friends
Then he smiled and just said nothing and he never sang again
excepting very late at night when the shop was dark and closed
He sang softly to himself as he sorted through the clothes
Music was his life, it was not his livelihood
and it made him feel so happy and it made him feel so good
And he sang from his heart and he sang from his soul
He did not know how well he sang
    It just made him whole

Go To Sleep Conscience (Don't Hurt Me This Time)
    Composer(s): Carl Story; Ernest Tubb
Performer(s): Ernest Tubb & The Texas Troubadours

The party is over, the crowd has gone home
The glasses are empty and I’m all alone
She left a note sayin’ she’d meet me at nine
So, Go To Sleep Conscience don’t hurt me this time

She belongs to another, with you I’d agree
But please keep this secret between you and me
You know how I love her and that she was once mine
So, Go To Sleep Conscience don’t hurt me this time

For tonight I must see her and I know she will cry
As I hold her gently and tell her goodbye
It’s got to be over, it’s the end-of-the-line
So, Go To Sleep Conscience don’t hurt me this time

    Ah Buddy now

For tonight I must see her and I know she will cry
As I hold her gently and tell her goodbye
It’s got to be over, it’s the end-of-the-line
So, Go To Sleep Conscience don’t hurt me this time

    Prachtig In Het Blauw
((Adapted from: Tangled Up In Blue (Bob Dylan) - 1975))
Composer(s): Bob Dylan - Bart Peeters
    Performer(s): Bart Peeters - 2002

Ik lag in de zon in de zomer
ik lag in de zon in het gras
Jij kwam langs ik herinner het mij
    alsof het gisteren was
je reed nog niet met de wagen
En je brommer was al wekenlang stuk
Je zei ik kon toevallig met
    mijn zuster mee
    we zegden niets

    zouden we trouwen
    Oorspronkelijk alleen voor de wet
    Maar om de kerk in
    het midden te houden
Deden we alles en daarna een buffet
De schepen van de burgerlijke stand
    speelde mooi toneel

    ik herinnerde me toen iets
    dat ik indertijd
    bij Professor Vanderkerken las
    Dat een plotseling besef
    van de oneindigheid
    een esthetische ervaring was
    En ik vond jou wondermooi
    in al dat blauw
Ik vond jou prachtig in het blauw

    Ik herinnerde me toen iets
    dat ik indertijd
    bij Professor Vanderkerken las
    Dat een plotseling besef
    van de oneindigheid
    een esthetische ervaring was
    En ik vond jou wondermooi
    in al dat blauw
Ik vond jou prachtig in het blauw
ik vond jou prachtig in het blauw

    Tu Col Tamburino
    English & French Titles:
    Mr. Tambourine Man; L'homme Orchestre
    Performer(s): Tito Schipa Jr.
    (Originally performed by: Bob Dylan)

    Ehi tu col tamburino
    Senti vuoi suonare
    Ehi tu col tamburino
    Ascolta vuoi suonare
Fai nell'alba un suono amico e docilmente verrò

    Lo so che con l'incanto
    Della notte che scompare
Anche i sogni vanno a mare
E rimango a mani cieche vuote insonni ormai
Ma questa volta è peggio sai
    Non so ricominciare

    A tempo col tuo tamburino

    Ogni pensiero annuvolato
    Nebbie e resti del passato
    Via dagli alberi stregati
    Dai germogli intirizziti
Fuori al vento e via lontano
Dal dominio insano di magoni infami
    Sì danzare sotto un cielo
    Di diamanti e ondeggerà
La mia mano incontro al mare
    Sui prosceni d'ogni riva
    Le memorie ed i destini
    Persi in vortici lontani
Porta l'oggi via con te fino a domani

    Ehi tu col tamburino
    Senti vuoi suonare
    Ehi tu col tamburino
    Ascolta vuoi suonare
Fai nell'alba un suono amico e docilmente verrò
