Playmates Composer(s): Saxie Dowell Performer(s): Kay Kyser; and various other artists
There's a catchy little tune a floatin' through the air You hear it here and there They sing it ev'rywhere How it started, where it started seems nobody knows But what's the diff'rence where it came from Here's the way it goes...
Oh Playmate, come out and play with me And bring your dollies three Climb up my apple tree Look down my rain barrel Slide down my cellar door And we'll be jolly friends forever more
She could'nt come out and play It was a sunny day With tearful eye, she breathed a sigh and I could hear her say I'm sorry Playmate, I cannot play with you My dollies have the flu Boo-hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo Ain't got no rain barrel Aint got not cellar door But we'll be friends forever more
Oh Playmate, come out and play with me And bring your dollies three Climb up my apple tree Look down my rain barrel Slide down my cellar door And we'll be jolly friends forever more

The First Day Of Love First performance by: Anne-Karine Ström - 1974
And today is the first day of living 'Understanding' - the word of the day So with faith in the things we believe in There will always be help on the way
We are changing the tide every hour We are clearing the sky up above And we know that with our newborn power Every day is the first day of love
In our song - the final solution We have used the words on the wall Awaiting the love revolution We all know the curtain will fall
Can't you feel the silent ovation? Don't you know it's only the start? In tune with your own generation You are finding love in your heart
And today is the first day of living 'Understanding' - the word of the day So, with faith in the things we believe in There will always be help on the way
We are changing the tide every hour We are clearing the sky up above And we know that with our newborn power Every day is the first day of love
Even though we're at the beginning We are going down the same road At last we can say we are winning We have help to carry our load
And today is the first day of living 'Understanding' - the word of the day So, with faith in the things we believe in There will always be help on the way
We are changing the tide every hour We are clearing the sky up above And we know that with our newborn power Every day is the first day of love
Playground Twist Composer(s): John McKay; Kenny Morris; Steve Severin; Siouxsie And The Banshees Performer(s): Siouxsie And The Banshees
Hanging.... Hanging from your daisy chains Swinging in the trees Running from your enemies And falling on your knees On your knees Get down on your knees
Throw the dice You three blind mice Did you ever see Such a thing in your life You swallow the trail But still arrive Inside your entrails
Hanging.... Hanging out at party games Dancing in the shadows Up and down on the see-saw Balancing the scales You're drunk Yet you're balancing the scales
Someone to blame Someone to shame Someone who you can claim Go back the to pass the parcel And follow the leader
Hanging.... Hanging from your climbing frames Swinging in the gallows Laughing with your buddies But you can drown when you're shallow You can drown....
Slippery St. Paul Composer(s): Patrick Simmons Performer(s): The Doobie Brothers
Down along the river, where the big bulrushes grow you find the old frog jump in the water He won't come up no more, babe He won't come up no more, baby He won't come up no more, woo He won't come up no more, sugar mama He won't come up no more
Smell that burnin' fire, baby, burnin' in the sand See that devil rise, mama He sho' wanna take yo' hand, now He sho' wanna take yo' hand, baby He sho' wanna take yo' hand, woo He sho' wanna take yo' hand, sugar mama He sho' wanna take yo' hand
Oh harvest moon keep shinin' your light down on me The lord reach out his hand; my soul floats on out to thee
I don't feel no pain, when they shot me down Lay my body out, baby They put me in the ground, so cold They put me in the ground, baby They put me in the ground, woo They put me in the ground, sugar mama They put me in the ground
Playground In My Mind Composer(s): Paul Vance; Lee Pockriss Performer(s): Clint Holmes; and various other artists
When this old world gets me down and there's no love to be found I close my eyes and soon I find I'm in a playground in my mind Where the children laugh and the children play And we sing a song all day
My name is Michael, I've got a nickel, I've got a nickel shiny and new I'm gonna buy me all kinds of candy, that's what I'm gonna do
In the wonders that I find in the playground in my mind In a world that used to be, close your eyes and follow me Where the children laugh and the children play And we'll sing a song all day
My girl is Cindy, when we get married we're gonna have a baby or two We're gonna let them visit their grandma, that's what we're gonna do
(tag lines concurrent with background singers singing verses two and four)
Living in a world that I left behind Happy little children In the playground in my mind See the little children See how they play in the playground in my mind La la la----------
Canta Y Sé Feliz First performance by: Peret - 1974
All of the bells in the town are ringin' Say can't you hear all the people singin' 'Cause of the way the band can play that playful melody Oh how your happy feet will wander Onto the dancin' floor down yonder When they play that playful melody Happy as you are find a little star Place it in the sky above Make it big and bright and its shiny light has to light the night For those who fall in love You'll see a field full of leaf clover Your happiness has to bubble over 'Cause of the way the band will play that playful melody 'Cause of the way the band will play that playful melody
Slippers With Wings Composer(s): Willy Dalton; Randall Hylton Performer(s): Charlie Waller; James Easter; Sheri Easter
Susie was three when she first blessed our home We loved her as much as a child of our own Her little legs were all twisted and frail It was never meant for Susie to be well
In her little bed time prayers she would say Lord I know you've been busy today But if you get some time please pretty please Can I have some slippers with wings
She'd love to watch the kids in the playground nearby They'd call Susie's name she would wave and say hi Tiny teardrops would leave the window stained It was never meant for Susie to complain
She would say to her brown puppy dog Little Skippy I know it won't be long Till I run and play tag like my friends God sending me pretty slippers with wings
Susie turned four and her little legs turned weak Pain took it's tole and the colour left her cheeks Christmas eve came and we gathered around Susie's bed And these are the last words she said
Mommy, mommy there's a man dressed in white Daddy look he is shinny and bright And he's holding some ribbons and some string Around a pretty pair of slippers with wings
And if ever I am certain of one certain thing Susie's wearing golden slippers with wings
Playboy Composer(s): Robert Bateman; Brian Holland; Gladys Horton; William "Mickey" Stevenson Performer(s): The Marvelettes
Watch out! Oh girls you know we've got to Watch out! Girls you know we've got to
Watch out here comes that playboy Watch out here comes that playboy Watch out here comes that playboy
Playboy get away from my door I heard about the lovers you had before You took their love for a game of joy Oh yeah And tossed their hearts around as if it was a toy Playboy
Well, Playboy find yourself another toy 'Cause this is one heart you won't destroy 'Cause I can't stand for what you're puttin down Fooling around with every girl in town Playboy
Well, you ain't saying nothing in my book Cause this is one fish you'll never ever hook You left the others standing with their hearts in pain And now you're coming round trying to do me the same
So Playboy I've seen your kind Winning every girl with that same old line So Playboy stay away from my door I know about the lovers you had before Playboy
Whoa you know you've got to Watch out here comes that Playboy Yes you know you've got to Watch out here comes that Playboy Oh you've got to Watch out here comes that Playboy You better, watch out you better, watch out
repeat-3rd verse repeat-4th verse
So Playboy I've seen your kind Winning every girl with that same old line So Playboy stay away from my door I know about the lovers you had before Playboy
Whoa you know you better Watch out here comes that Playboy Watch out here comes that Playboy Watch out for de Playboy He's bringing you false joy
Watch out here comes that Playboy Watch out here comes that Playboy
Long Live Love Composer(s): Valerie Avon; Harold Spiro First performance by: Olivia Newton-John - 1974
Long, long live love Love is to care Caring and sharing Long, long live love
All the kids like ten tin soldiers in a row Followed hand in hand Sister Anna carrying the banner for the Sally Annie band Singing songs of praise and glory We all learn to love their story Good things are coming to you Glory, glory hallelujah
Long, long live love As long as we live Living and giving Long, long live love
On a wet day, dry day, great to be alive day Brother takes the stand Cymbals ringing, everybody singing with the Sally Annie band Just a band of happy people Teaching, preaching love is equal When you feel the spirit move you Glory, glory hallelujah
Long, long live love Love is to care Caring and sharing Long, long live love, love, love, love, love Ohhh Long, long live love As long as we live Living forgiving Long, long live love
Slip Slidin' Away Composer(s): Paul Simon First release by: Paul Simon - 1977 Covered by multiple other artists
Slip slidin' away Slip slidin' away You know the nearer your destination The more you're slip slidin' away
I know a man He came from my home town He wore his passion for his woman Like a thorny crown He said Delores I live in fear My love for you's so overpowering I'm afraid that I will disappear
Slip slidin' away Slip slidin' away You know the nearer your destination The more you're slip slidin' away
I know a woman Became a wife These are the very words she uses To describe her life She said a good day Ain't got no rain She said a bad day's when I lie in bed And think of things that might have been
Slip slidin' away Slip slidin' away You know the nearer your destination The more you're slip slidin' away
And I know a father Who had a son He longed to tell him all the reasons For the things he'd done He came a long way Just to explain He kissed his boy as he lay sleeping Then he turned around and headed home again
Slip slidin' away Slip slidin' away You know the nearer your destination The more you're slip slidin' away
God only knows God makes his plan The information's unavailable To the mortal man We work our jobs Collect our pay Believe we're gliding down the highway When in fact we're slip slidin' away
