Words Are Not Enough Composer(s): Ace Frehley; Jimmy Keneally Performer(s): Ace Frehley
Can't stop tossin' and turnin' at night It gets harder each day, fighting with this feeling inside You can swear that you love me By every star in the sky But when you're close to me You get that look in you eye A burning feeling, you just can't disguise
Chorus: Words are not enough to make me feel like a man in love Words are not enough to make me feel like a man in love We need eachother its easy to see You know I'm shaking all over thinking how good this could be You can tell me you need me And you can tell me you're mine But when you're in my arms The words starts spinning and we lose all track of time
Ambush Composer(s): Robert Irving - Mark Lindsay Performer(s): Mark Lindsay
You thundered in -- all your sabers were blazing Fired your guns in a mighty barrage Under a full moon I fell by the water As you rode away with your cold entourage
I cried for peace but your eyes filled with venom A drop fell between us -- it drove us apart I was racing the wind singing songs with my brothers Your Winchester bullet went straight through my heart
Oh... oh... -- take me to my hunting ground Oh... oh... -- wheel is turning 'round Oh... oh... -- waiting for the buffalo Pounding like drums on the ground
It's been so long since I swam Crooked River Running the banks chasing clouds in the sky Watching the salmon charge up through the rapids Fighting to spawn and to die The prairies are gone and the forests have fallen A river of tears flows away to the sea I lie with my pony 'neath ground that God gave me An arrowhead marker for all eyes to see
Oh... oh... -- take me to my hunting ground Oh... oh... -- wheel is turning 'round Oh... oh... -- waiting for the buffalo Pounding like drums on the ground
Fish cannot fly over dams in the river Ravens are dark in the sky
Oh... oh... -- take me to my hunting ground Wheel of weeping slowly turns around Now I'm sleeping waiting for the buffalo Pounding like drums on the ground
Oh... oh... -- take me to my hunting ground Oh... oh... -- wheel is turning 'round Oh... oh... -- waiting for the buffalo Pounding like drums on the ground
Words And Music Composer(s): Andy Gibb Performer(s): Andy Gibb
Words and music make a song for our hearts to sing along Like a choir within the air, there'll be music ev'rywhere A bitter tear across your cheek A smile from you is all I need We'll give them cause to breathe the air There'll be lovers ev'rywhere
I'll be your singer and your song for all the love you've brought along I'll be your day, I'll be your night I'll see that ev'rything's all right I'll turn the ocean into sand Like my heart at your command I'll make the raindrops turn to snow And then ev'ryone will know that we're in love Yeah, yeah, yeah
And when the morning brings it's light And Mister Moonlight says goodbye My hand is shaking when you smile You make me feel just like a child My mind is searching for a way so that you won't have to say You've got to go and can't come back But I can't think you'd make me sad
I'll be your singer and your song for all the love you've brought along I'll be your day, I'll be your night I'll see that ev'rything's all right I'll turn the ocean into sand Like my heart at your command I'll make the raindrops turn to snow And then ev'ryone will know that we're in love
(take away the pain in me) I'll be your singer and your song
(soon you'll see a change in me) for all the love you've brought along
(what's the point of going on) I'll be your day, I'll be your night
(the story ends, the feelings gone) I'll see that ev'rything's all right I'll turn the ocean into sand Like my heart at your command I'll make the raindrops turn to snow And then ev'ryone will know that we're in love
(the story ends, the feelings gone) I'll see that ev'rything's all right I'll turn the ocean into sand Like my heart at your command I'll make the raindrops turn to snow And then ev'ryone will know that we're in love
Words Composer(s): Tommy Boyce; Bobby Hart Performer(s): The Monkees
Girl, don't you know everytime I see you smiling It hurts so bad, 'cause when I see you, I start crying I've tried everything to stop, but there's no denying Falling in love with you, girl, is just like dying
Oh, don't walk away How, how can I make you stay Don't turn away I can still hear you saying those words that never were true Spoken to help nobody but you Words with lies inside But, small enough to hide till your playing was through, ahh
Girl, don't you know we could work it out with talking You won't turn around or slow down your walking I've given you everything with a kiss to seal it You had to get your kicks out of trying to steal it
Now, I'm standing here Strange, strange voices in my ears I feel the tears But, all I can hear are those words that never were true Spoken to help nobody but you Words with lies inside But, small enough to hide till your playing was through, ahh
Now, I'm standing here Strange, strange voices in my ears I feel the tears But, all I can hear are those words that never were true Spoken to help nobody but you Words with lies inside But, small enough to hide till your playing was through
Words that never were true Spoken to help nobody but you Words with lies inside But, small enough to hide till your playing was through
Words that never were true Just spoken to help nobody but you...
Ambulance Blues
Composer(s): Neil Young
First release by: Neil Young - 1974
Back in the old folky days
The air was magic when we played
The riverboat was rockin' in the rain
Midnight was the time for the raid
Oh, Isabela, proud Isabela
They tore you down and plowed you under
You're only real with your make-up on
How could I see you and stay too long?
All along the Navajo Trail
Burn-outs stub their toes on garbage pails
Waitresses are cryin' in the rain
Will their boyfriends pass this way again?
Oh, Mother Goose, she's on the skids
Sure ain't happy, neither are the kids
She needs someone that she can scream at
And I'm such a heel for makin' her feel so bad
I guess I'll call it sickness gone
It's hard to say the meaning of this song
An ambulance can only go so fast
It's easy to get buried in the past
When you try to make a good thing last
I saw today in the entertainment section
There's room at the top for private detection
To Mom and Dad this just doesn't matter
But it's either that or pay off the kidnapper
So all you critics sit alone
You're no better than me for what you've shown
With your stomach pump and your hook and ladder dreams
We could get together for some scenes
I never knew a man could tell so many lies
He had a different story for every set of eyes
How can he remember who he's talkin' to?
'Cause I know it ain't me, and I hope it isn't you
Well, I'm up in T.O. keepin' jive alive
And out on the corner it's half past five
But the subways are empty
And so are the cafes
Except for the Farmer's Market
And I still can hear him say
You're all just pissin' in the wind
You don't know it but you are
And there ain't nothin' like a friend
Who can tell you you're just pissin' in the wind
I never knew a man could tell so many lies
He had a different story for every set of eyes
How can he remember who he's talking to?
Cause I know it ain't me, and hope it isn't you
Words are easy to be spoken I know that and so do you But when I said "I love you, Darling" Every word of it was true
Fancy words, I've never used them Since I met you from the start Plain old simple words are better They come directly from the heart
When I take your hand forever All the chapel bells will chime Woh-oh-oh-oh, we will say I do together And with these words, I'll make you mine (With these words)
Ambitious Composer(s): Nile Rodgers Performer(s): Jeff Beck
Here is a rich boy, a bit of a brat To him life's just a fling Phi Beta Kappa and first in his class He's treated just like a king And he says, "I'm not sure what it is I must have so I guess I'll just take everything"
He's just ambitious He's not a bad man He's just ambitious He's not a bad man Just ambitious Whooah, yeah! Just ambitious
Here is a young girl, born down and out Locked up in jail when she was ten Now in the courtroom, she's got a bit of doubt Sits on the judge side of the bench
She's just ambitious She's not a bad girl She's just ambitious She's not a bad girl Just ambitious Whooah, yeah! Just ambitious
Here is a wild man who thirsts for a fight And his cool streak gets him by All these four-letter words in his mind Here is a man who'll survive
He's just ambitious He's just a wild man He's just ambitious He's just a wild man Just ambitious Whooah, yeah! Just ambitious
Here is a wild man who thirsts for a fight Just ambitious Always a four-letter word in his mind Just ambitious
Don't you know, I'm just ambitious I'm not a bad man, just ambitious I'm not a bad man, just ambitious Whooah, yeah! Just ambitious I'm not a bad man, just ambitious I'm not a bad man, just ambitious I'm not a bad man, just ambitious
Words Composer(s): Barry Gibb; Maurice Gibb; Robin Gibb Originally performed by: Bee Gees Covered by various other artists
Smile an everlasting smile A smile could bring you near to me Don't ever let me find you gone 'Cause that would bring a tear to me This world has lost its glory Let's start a brand new story Now my love right now there'll be No other time and I can show you How my love Talk in everlasting words And dedicate them all to me And I will give you all my life I'm here if you should call to me You think that I don't even mean A single word I say It's only words, and words are all I have to take your heart away You think that I don't even mean A single word I say It's only words, and words are all I have to take your heart away It's only words, and words are all I have to take your heart away
Wop She 'Ad It-Io (Traditional) Performer(s): The Copper Family
Now once I courted a pretty girl I courted her quite well Her name was Kitty-mariga Maria and mine was Bobby Wells One night when I was courting Kit when her father was at home He said, If I catch you here again I'll tickle your bot-tum With a wop she 'ad it I tell you I 'ad it O wop she 'ad it-io O wop she 'ad it I tell you I 'ad it O wop she 'ad it-io
Now Kit and I we did agree a ladder for to bring We placed it under the window and by gum, it was just the thing We laughed and chattered and chattered and talked when all at once, by gum My foot slipped through the ladder and I fell and cut my bot-tum With a wop she 'ad it I tell you I 'ad it O wop she 'ad it-io O wop she 'ad it I tell you I 'ad it O wop she 'ad it-io
They wheeled me home in a wheelbarrow they wheeled me home with care And when I got to the farmyard gate, oh, didn't the old folks stare My brother Jim came running out and said what have you done I've been a-courting Kit, said I, and fell and cut my bot-tum With a wop she 'ad it I tell you I 'ad it O wop she 'ad it-io O wop she 'ad it I tell you I 'ad it O wop she 'ad it-io
They took me to the doctor's and there I showed my case And didn't they do a grin when I showed 'em my Sunday face They thought I was making a fool of them, but a fool of them, by gum I thought they were making a fool of me when they turpentined my bum With a wop she 'ad it I tell you I 'ad it O wop she 'ad it-io O wop she 'ad it I tell you I 'ad it O wop she 'ad it-io
Now Kit and I we did agree for to get wed She made me a sling to put my bum in and through it I cocked my leg As we were walking down the street the kids did shout, by gum There goes the man with his bum in a sling that fell and cut his bot-tum With a wop she 'ad it I tell you I 'ad it O wop she 'ad it-io O wop she 'ad it I tell you I 'ad it O wop she 'ad it-io
Amber Cascades Composer(s): Dewey Bunnell Performer(s): America
Amber cascades all over today Then we walk on a crooked catwalk Only to be delayed Bubbles of blue burst into two Eaten up by the incoming tide Of the new
Then we call to the man who walks on the water We talk of a plan to stop all the slaughter in view It's in view
Granite charades are played in the rain Till we fall through a sand castle window To avoid the pain Summer canoe paddles up to you 'cause it's time for another beer run Or something that's equally true
Then we call to the man who walks on the water We talk of a plan to stop all the slaughter in view
Then we call to the man who walks on the water We talk of a plan to stop all the slaughter in view It's in view

Woody's Rag/Hard Work Composer(s): Woody Guthrie Performer(s): Arlo Guthrie
While we're on the subject of hard work I just wanted to say that I always was a man to work
I was born working and I worked my way up by hard work I ain't never got nowhere yet but I got there by hard work
Work of the hardest kind I been down and I been out and I've been busted, disgusted and couldn't be trusted
I worked my way up and I worked my way down I've been drunk and I've been sober I've had hard times and I got hijacked and been robbed for cash and robbed on credit
Worked my way into jail and outta jail and I woke up a lotta mornings and I didn't even know where I was at
But the hardest work I ever done is when I was trying to get myself a worried woman to ease my worried mind
Now I'm gonna tell you just about how much hard work I had to do to get this here woman that I'm a-tellin' you about
I shook hands with 97 of her kinfolks and her blood relatives and I done the same with 86 people that was just her friends and her neighbors
Kissed 73 babies and put dry pants on 34 of 'em, as well as others, and done the When thing several times, as well as a lot of other things just about like this
I held 125 head of wild horses, put saddles and bridles on more than that, harnessed some of the craziest wildest teams in the whole country. I rode 14 loco broncos to a dead standstill and let 42 hound dogs lick me all over
7 times I was bit by hungry dogs and I was chewed all to pieces by water moccasins and rattlesnakes on 2 separate river bottoms
I chopped and I carried 314 arm loads of stoved wood 100 buckets of coal, and I carried a gallon of kerosene 18 miles and lost a good pair of shoes in a mud hole
And I chopped and I weeded 48 rows of short cotton 13 acres of bad corn and cut the sticker weeds out of 11 back yards, all on account a 'cause I wanted to show her that I was a man and I liked to work
I cleaned out 9 barnloads, and cranked 31 automobiles all makes and models, pulled 3 cars out of mud holes and 4 out of snowdrifts
I dug 5 cisterns of water for some of her friends and neighbors and run all kinds of errands
I played the fiddle for 9 church meetings and I joined 11 separate denominations. I signed up and joined up for 7 of the best trade unions I could find and paid my dues about 6 weeks ahead of time, waded 40 miles of swamps, 60 big rivers, walked across 2 mountain ranges and crossed 3 deserts
I got the fever and I got the sun stroke and I got the malaria and I got the flu and I got moonstruck and skeeter bit, the poison ivy and the 7 year itch and the blind staggers
I was given up for lost and dead about 2 dozen times Struck by lightning, struck by Congress, struck by friends and kinfolks, as well as by 3 cars on the highways and a lotta times in peoples' henhouses
I been hit and run down and run over and walked on and knocked around and I'm just settin' here now trying to study up what else I can do to show that woman that I still ain't afraid of hard work
Woodstock Composer(s): Joni Mitchell Originally performed by: Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young Covered by various other artists
I came upon a child of God He was walking along the road And I asked him, where are you going And this he told me I´m going on down to Yasgur´s farm I´m going to join in a rock ´n´ roll band I´m going to camp out on the land And try and get my soul free We are stardust We are golden And we´ve got to get ourselves Back to the garden
Then can I walk beside you I have come here to lose the smog And I feel to be a cog in something turning Well maybe it is just the time of year Or maybe it´s the time of man I don´t know who l am But life is for learning We are stardust We are golden And we´ve got to get ourselves Back to the garden
By the time we got to Woodstock We were half a million strong And everywhere there was song and celebration And I dreamed I saw the bombers Riding shotgun in the sky And they were turning into butterflies Above our nation We are stardust We are golden And we´ve got to get ourselves Back to the garden
Woodman! Spare That Tree! Composer(s): Henry Russell Performer(s): Douglas Jimerson; Americus Brass Band
Woodman, spare that tree! Touch not a single bough! In youth it sheltered me And I'll protect it now 'Twas my forefather's hand That placed it near his cot There, woodman, let it stand Thy axe shall harm it not!
That old familiar tree Whose glory and renown Are spread o'er land and sea And wouldst thou hew it down? Woodman, forbear thy stroke! Cut not its earth-bound ties Oh, spare that aged oak Now towering to the skies!
When but an idle boy I sought its grateful shade In all their gushing joy Here too my sisters played My mother kissed me here My father pressed my hand Forgive this foolish tear But let that old oak stand!
My heart-strings round thee cling Close as thy bark, old friend! Here shall the wild-bird sing And still thy branches bend Old tree! the storm still brave! And, woodman, leave the spot While I've a hand to save Thy axe shall harm it not
