Angelique Composer(s): Eva Ein - Kenny Loggins Performer(s): Kenny Loggins
From the time that I wake to the time that I rise, she's a lover and so am I But the lady loves her passion more than me When I'm under her spell, then I know very well, how her magic can mystify And the lady leaves her lovers in ecstasy She's young, but she's wise, and the heaven in her eyes at half a glance Is as much as a man can see But she'll never really love any more than any other lover in her life And you'll come to know the devil in Angelique For a moment it seems I'm a part of her dreams And she loves like she's hypnotized While she hides inside the man she's made of me And then just when I've found her, her visions surround her And I'll never fill her eyes, but I wonder who in hell the young girl sees And she moans, and she sighs, and you search inside her eyes But all you find is a man who can never be And you wonder if she'll ever discover that the devil could never set her free She's young, but she's wise, and the heaven in her eyes at half a glance Is as much as any man can see And you'll never really lose any more than any other lover has lost in her life When you've come to know the devil in Angelique And you'll come to know the devil in Angelique And you'll learn to love the devil
Day For Decision Composer(s): Allen N. Peltier Performer(s): Johnny Sea
The other day I heard someone say You know, America is in real trouble It's true Old Glory has never fallen so close to the earth Our embassies are being stoned Our diplomats are often in fear for their lives And we're involved in a half-dozen nameless, winless conflicts spilling American blood on foreign soil Our young men are dying for ideals that don't seem to mean too much to Americans anymore
The truth is America's real trouble doesn't lie in the rice paddies of Vietnam in the masses of Red China, or in the diabolical intrigues to the south of us The real trouble lies in the playgrounds of St. Louis the hillside mansions of San Francisco, and in the slums of Chicago A disease which is slowly eating away at the heart of America lives in the small southern towns, the fishing villages of New England and in the hot dusty streets of the midwest
This is the age of the American cynic The year of the unbeliever The day of doubt We've killed all the sacred cows and destroyed all the images And there's nothing left to respect Old fashioned love of God, country, and family is passé We stare at our shoelaces when they play the national anthem We wouldn't want to be seen at a political rally or a town hall meeting And we don't want to be caught with our eyes closed during public prayers We've decided the only way to get into public office is to buy it Our heroes are the fast guys who get away with things Patriotism, the old hand-over-the-heart flag-waving singing patriotism has been condemned Think about this Patriotism When you tear away the fancy phrases and crepe paper, it's plain and simple pride I'ts a new car-prettier girl-bigger house sort of pride in country Somewhere along the way we've lost it Our form of government is the same We still say America stands for the same things But next time you're at a party, ask someone to sing American the Beautiful and see what happens
The basic ideals and structure of America haven't changed We have You and me Our enemies know it They've seen the newsreels of the discontented marching around the capitol They've distorted and blown up our mistakes They've been putting steel wedges in the cracks in our wall of solidarity The new idea is: Don't attack America wear it down gradually till it eventually falls under the weight of its own corruption And did you know, it's working?
This sneering complacency once stamped out by the bloody feet of a tattered Continental Army in 1776 once drowned beneath the keel of the U.S.S. Arizona in Pearl Harbor Bay has risen again This deadly "Let George do it" attitude lights the way for the Vietcong in the swampy jungles of Vietnam This "Better red than dead" cancer is more feared by the American soldier than all the communist mortar shells It kills the vitality and spirit of America Democracy is a frail and fragile instrument Made of hope, prayer, and Yankee ingenuity It is held together by a fourth-of-July flag-waving patriotism And we've almost exhausted our supply of it Try this test Lift your eyes to a flag, then sing out as loud as you can that old out-worn antiquated freedom hymn you learned so many years ago
For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain America America God shed His grace on thee
Now if you feel a little pride welling up inside of you if you feel a little mist in your eye then, thank God for you, mister, you're still an American!
America, America God shed His grace on thee And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea

I Can Hear Your Heartbeat Composer(s): Chris Rea Performer(s): Chris Rea; Paul Cotton; Seppo Valjakka
In the silence of the side street In the whisper of the night From the darkness of the empty hours To the early morning light From the hustle down on main street With all it's lights so bright To the trucker on the highway Pressing through the night
I can hear your heartbeat I can hear your heartbeat Girl, the sound of you is so sweet To me
And I'm sailing on your wind song Oh, I can feel the summer breeze You've got me walking on my tiptoes You've got me standing on my knees From the mills way down in Pittsburgh To the clubs of gay Paris Ah, no matter where I roam, girl You can always get to me
I can hear your heartbeat I can hear your heartbeat Girl, the sound of you is so sweet To me
We got freezing Coca-Cola We got anything you want I moving on that back beat Girl, but it's you that sings the song
'Cos I can hear your heartbeat I can hear your heartbeat The sound of you is so sweet To me
Oh I still hear your heartbeat Yea I still hear your heartbeat Girl, the sound of you is so sweet To me
Dawn's Highway Composer(s): Jim Morrison Performer(s): The Doors
Indians scattered on dawn's highway bleeding Ghosts crowd the young child's fragile eggshell mind
Me and my -ah- mother and father - and a grandmother and a grandfather - were driving through the desert, at dawn, and a truck load of Indian workers had either hit another car, or just - I don't know what happened - but there were Indians scattered all over the highway, bleeding to death
So the car pulls up and stops That was the first time I tasted fear I musta' been about four - like a child is like a flower his head is just floating in the breeze, man The reaction I get now thinking about it, looking back is that the souls of the ghosts of those dead Indians... maybe one or two of 'em...were just running around freaking out and just leaped into my soul And they're still in there
Indians scattered on dawn's highway bleeding Ghosts crowd the young child's fragile eggshell mind
Blood in the streets in the town of New Haven Blood stains the roofs and the palm trees of Venice Blood in my love in the terrible summer Bloody red sun of Phantastic L.A.
Blood screams her brain as they chop off her fingers Blood will be born in the birth if a nation Blood is the rose of mysterious union Blood on the rise, it's following me
Indian, Indian what did you die for? Indian says, nothing at all
Angelina Composer(s): Knut Koppang Performer(s): Ray Charles
Angelina, why did you have to go It's hard enough alone, well you should know The scars you never showed me Your eyes that turned away Angelina, to God for you I prayed
Angelina, I often heard you weep At times I'd stay awake and watch you sleep Your innocence would move me At times you've made me scared Angelina, my love for you I cared
Angelina, in silence you would speak A simple touch of you and I grew weak You finally let me hold you The day before you died Angelina, my angel in the sky
You finally let me hold you The day before you died Angelina, my angel in the sky
Dawning Composer(s): Mark Barkan; Tony Powers Performer(s): Jay & The Americans
I woke up this morning, the sun's shining brightly And loving each leaf on each tree Remembering the way that your lips touched mine lightly Yes, your love is dawning on me Wo oh ah oh oh ah oh oh ah oh oh Yes, your love is dawning on me
Flowers are bloomin', the robin is singing, And my heart is in harmony The sweet things you said have all to my head Oh yes, your love is dawning on me Wo oh ah oh oh ah oh oh ah oh oh Yes, your love is dawning on me
Perfume and roses and blue skies and laughter The world is a great place to be What used to be sadness has turned into gladness Yes, your love is dawning on me Wo oh ah oh oh ah oh oh ah oh oh Yes, your love is dawning on me
We were children who played On the backstreets of border towns And we dreamed of the day when we might run away To where the good life was found I remember the night When I asked you to be my girl Now I feel so ashamed of the promise I made When I said I would give you the world
My Angelina, when I look in your eyes I believe I could change the world With you by my side My Angelina, give me courage to try I believe in the man I see In my Angelina`s eyes
Seems like nothin` worked out Quite the way it was planned to be Oh, the dreams that we chased when we came to this place Are like nightmares to me Workin` day after day In the noise of the factory And the money`s no good but if I say a word Immigration will take me away
My Angelina, when I look in your eyes I believe I could change the world With you by my side My Angelina, give me courage to try I believe in the man I see In my Angelina`s eyes
If I hadn`t been drunk I would never have hit that man But the whiskey and I saw the look in his eye When he asked Angelina to dance Now they`re takin` me south To a jail down in border town But it won`t be for long, Angelina, be strong Keep believin` our dreams will work out
My Angelina, when I look in your eyes I believe I could change the world With you by my side My Angelina, give me courage to try I believe in the man I see In my Angelina`s eyes
My Angelina, when I look in your eyes I believe I could change the world With you by my side My Angelina, give me courage to try

Dawn (Go Away) Composer(s): Gaudio; Linzer Performer(s): Frankie Valli
Pretty as a midsummers morn, they call her Dawn
Dawn, go away I'm no good for you Oh, Dawn, stay with him he'll be good to you Hang on, Hang on to him
Think, what a big man he'll be Think, all the places you'll see Now think what the future would be with a poor boy like me
Dawn go away, please go away Although I know I want you to stay Dawn go away, please go away Baby don't cry, it's better this way
Oh Dawn go away, back where you belong Girl we can't change the places where we were born Before you say that you want me
I want you to think what your family would say think what you're throwing away Now think what the future would be with a poor boy like me repeat 5x Dawn, go away I'm no good for you
