Shoppin' For Clothes Composer(s): Kent Harris; Jerry Leiber; Mike Stoller First release by: The Coasters - 1960 Covered by multiple other artists
I was shopping for a suit the other day And walked into the department store I stepped on the elevator and told the girl "Dry goods floor"
When I got off I saw a salesman was coming to me He said "Now, what can I do for you" I said "Well go in there and show me all the sport's clothes Like you're supposed to"
He said, "Well, sure, come on in buddy Dig these fabrics we got laid out on the shelf" He said "Pick yourself out one Try it on, stand in the mirror and dig yourself"
Ohhhhhh...That suit's pure herringbone Ohhhhhh...Yeah, that's a suit I'd like to own Ohhhhhh...Buddy, that suit is you Ohhhhhh...Yeah, I believe it too
I see for the business man you feature the natural shoulder That retail, wholesale indeed It's got the custom cuffs and the walking short He said "And I'm gonna let you have at a steal"
And for the playboy you have the latest in tweed With the cut-away flap over twice It's a box-back, two button western model He said, "Now ain't that nice"
Ohhhhhh...Them buttons are solid gold Ohhhhhh...You made a deal, sold Ohhhhhh...That collar's pure camel hair Ohhhhhh...Well, you can just set it down right in that chair
Now you go back there and you get that paper and let me sign on the dotted line And I'll make sure I get all my payments in right on time Hey wait a minute buddy, let me go back there and do a little checking on you Then the man come back, he said "I'm sorry my man but your credit didn't go through" Why, what you mean
Ohhhhhh...Ain't this a shame Ohhhhhh...My heart's in pain Ohhhhhh...Pure, pure herringbone Ohhhhhh...That's a suit you'll never own Oh, Lord have mercy

Ribbons and paper cover the floor It's been a great Christmas, with presents galore Everyone's happy and I'm happy too Oh, what a night (Oh, what a night) Oh, what a night (Oh, what a night) The night before Christmas I had with you
Frost on the window, snow on the ground Holiday spirit, holiday sounds Everyone's thankful and I'm thankful too Oh, what a night (Oh, what a night) Oh, what a night (Oh, what a night) The night before Christmas I had with you
It all started underneath that mistletoe While we were waiting up just to help old Santa Claus We were making merry in ways we'd never thought of When we heard those sleigh bells and old Santa almost caught us
We didn't take no pictures, but I still remember One very special twenty-fourth day of December Oh, what a night (Oh, what a night) Oh, what a night (Oh, what a night) The night before Christmas I had with you
It all started underneath that mistletoe While we were waiting up just to help old Santa Claus We were making merry in ways we'd never thought of When we heard those sleigh bells and old Santa almost caught us
If we don't do this next year, Honey, I'm sure gonna miss it Why don't we make it a new Yuletide tradition Oh, what a night (Oh, what a night) Oh, what a night (Oh, what a night) The night before Christmas I had with you Oh, what a night (Oh, what a night) Oh, what a night (Oh, what a night) The night before Christmas I had with you
Oh, Merry Christmas, Baby, I love you so much (What a night) Oh, what a night (What a night) Ummm, what a night (What a night) Oh, what a night (What a night) The night before Christmas (What a night) I spent it with you (What a night) Oh, what a night (What a night) The night before......

Ho ho ho and a ha ha ha Ooo we love to do the Merry Hula Tee hee hee and a tra la la Ooo we love to do the Merry Hula The gifts are spread beneath the tree Little children jump with glee Ho ho ho and a ha ha ha Ooo we love to do the Merry Hula
When it's Christmas day in Hawaii Santa takes a break to do some surfin' He looks real cute in his swimming' suit And waterproof rubber boots When it's Christmas day in Hawaii And all the gifts for kids have been delivered He lands his sleigh for a holiday Where the palm trees swing and sway, and he sings

The Man From Galilee Composer(s): Holloway Performer(s): Christy Lane; Connie Smith
It was Christmas Eve in a little Texas town The snow was falling softly to the ground Outside a little chapel stood a man With sightless eyes a candle in his hand
Oh Lord if you're there help me in I need to light a candle for a friend He came from a land across the sea They call Him the Man from Galilee
And no one seemed to hear his lonely cry They laughed with Christmas cheer and walked on by Inside they watched a clock upon the wall Put silver in the box and left the hall
Oh Lord if you're there help me in I need to light a candle for a friend He came from a land across the sea They call Him the Man from Galilee
Soon the church was quiet in the night And one-by-one the candles lost their light In darkness now the old man knelt to pray Forgive them Lord they must have lost their way
Oh Lord if you're there hear my prayer Let the message of Your birthday fill the air Let the lesson of your life help us see That Christmas is the Man from Galilee
Oh Lord if you're there help me in I need to light a candle for a friend He came from a land across the sea They call Him the Man from Galilee

Oh and God bless us every one The good and the bad, the happy, the sad Oh and God bless us every one Here's to family and friends It's good to be here again
On the streets there's children laughing People smile as they are passing Christmas time is here, our waiting is done Wishing it could last forever Not just twelve days in December Through the year let's try to remember That special way That everyone feels It's the magic of Christmas day

Almost Cut My Hair Composer(s): David Crosby First release by: Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - 1970 Covered by multiple other artists
Almost cut my hair It happened just the other day It's gettin kinda long I could have said it was in my way But I didn't and I wonder why I feel like letting my freak flag fly Cause I feel like I owe it to someone
Must be because I had the flu' for Christmas And I'm not feeling up to par It increases my paranoia Like looking in my (rear-view) mirror and seeing a police car But I'm not giving in an inch to fear Cause I promised myself this year I feel like I owe it to someone
When I finally get myself together I'm going to get down in that sunny southern weather And I find a place inside a laugh Separate the wheat from the chaff I feel like I owe it to someone
The Little Grave
Composer(s): John D. Loudermilk
Performer(s): John D. Loudermilk
and multiple other artists
On Christmas Eve I went a walking out beyond the city gate For to fetch a fresh young pheasant for my darling's Christmas plate
It was snowing oh so quietly and the woods were wide and soft Just the sound of snowflakes falling and the footsteps as I walked
There I saw a fresh young pheasant and I shot and killed him there And I heard a distant church bell as the bird fell from the air
As I held his dying body the strangest thought came over me God had made this little body that I have killed on Christmas Eve
All the woods were dark and shadowed with the light the cold stars gave I sent a prayer to God in heaven and covered up the little grave And covered up the little grave
