It's Nice To Be In Love Again First performance by: The Swarbriggs Plus Two - 1977
The sweetest thrill is knowing you're wanted Never thought I'd feel it again So long ago I almost forgot it It's coming back like and old refrain It's nice to be in love again That old familiar feeling when You say hello and you know it's love It's nice to be in love again That old familiar feeling when You meet your girl and the world stands still Your heart is filled with sweet melody It's nice to be in love again The sweetest thrill, I couldn't believe it I hadn't even a friend This heart of mine was thinking of leaving Until you came walking 'round that bend It's nice to be in love again That old familiar feeling when you say hello And you know it's love It's nice to be in love again That old familiar feeling when You meet your girl and the world stands still Your heart is filled with sweet melody It's nice to be in love again It's nice to be in love again That old familiar feeling when You meet your girl and the world stands still Your heart is filled with sweet melody It's nice to be in love again It's nice to be in love again That old familiar feeling when you say hello
Poinciana (Song Of The Tree) (Adapted from: La Canción Del Árbol - 1936) Composer(s): Nat Simon; Buddy Bernier; Manuel Lliso Performer(s): Kay Kyser and various other artists
Blow Tropic wind, sing a song to the trees Trees sigh to me, soon my love I will see
Poinciana, your branches speak to me of love Pale moon is casting shadows from above
Poinciana, somehow I feel the jungle heat Within me there grows a rhythmic savage beat
Love is ev'rywhere, its magic perfume fills the air To and fro you sway, my heart's in time, I've learned to care
Poinciana, though skies may turn from blue to gray My love will live forever and a day
Poinciana, from now until the dawning day I'll learn to love forever, come what may
Smokey Put The Sweat On Me Composer(s): Kris Kristofferson Performer(s): Kris Kristofferson; Lee Hazlewood
Ive known some women in every state New york city to the golden gate Ive lived with some, and buddy, I loved em all (yes, I did) But no one woman had a claim on me cause I still had a lotta world to see And I sometimes stagger, but sugar, I seldom fall
Then like a hungry man, I went to louisiana Where the lovin and the livin was good Without a care to hide and just as satisfied as I could be A lotta women and wine and not a tie to bind me And behaving just as cool as I could til that long legged, sweet walkin ravenhaired cajun lookin Devil put the sweat on me
They call her smokey, shes a little bit-a evil Smokey, right as wrong can be Smokey, she could shake the very devil Smokey put the sweat on me
Oh, my pulse is a beatin to the clickety clack Of this one-way ride thats gonna take me back And my bodys just a-breathin in that mississippi river smell Well, my feet wasnt ready yet for settling down But my soul kept tellin me to turn around And the longer I tried to fight it, the harder I fell
And like a hungry man, I went to louisiana Where the lovin and the livin is good Ill get a brand new bride and be as satisfied as I can be And I wont even mind the world Im leavin behind Because I never really thought that I could til that long legged, sweet walkin ravenhaired cajun looking devil Put the sweat on me
They call her smokey, shes a little bit-a evil Smokey, right as wrong can be Smokey, she could shake the very devil Smokey put the sweat on me Smokey put the sweat on me Awww, smokey put the sweat on me
Poi Passa ((English & French Versions: I'll Be There (by Charles Aznavour); Ça Passe (by Charles Aznavour)) Composer(s): Charles Aznavour - Georges Garvarentz - Bob Raggio Performer(s): Charles Aznavour
Der Star First performance by: Tony Marshall - 1976

Meeting in smokey places Hiding in shadowy corners Dancing where no one knows our faces Sharing love stolen in the night In smokey places
Oh oh how I cried On your wedding day Like, like my heart would break How you regret your wedding day Now paying for your bad mistake
Mmmmmm Meeting in smokey places Hiding in shadowy corners Oh we are dancing where no one knows our faces Sharing love stolen in the night In smokey places
Some sunny day He will set you free Free to be my life Some sunny day Sweetheart, he'll set you free We'll be, we'll be satified
Meeting in smokey places Hiding in shadowy corners We just keep dancing where no one knows our faces Sharing love stolen in the night In smokey places

She said "It's hard for me to explain to you the brightness of the light I can still remember when my life was like that A real and painless beauty I remember as a kid When I thought that I knew everything and in a way I did She was a virgin then, a child in a million With deep round hazel eyes of bazing intuition She called me over to her side and said "Will you please listen I wanna show you something and it's something I've just written And I'm calling it Poetry & Jazz"
She watched her happy family turn to a broken home Her father left with someone else, her mother on her own Her fourteenth birthday, her mother spent in tears She celebrated on her own, her adolescent years. It was hell then, caught in the crossfire Of an emotional triangle she couldn't keep together I heard her softly as she sobbed upon my shoulder Saying "As you are the closest thing I've got to a brother Explain to me why is life so sad"
Sixteen was better 'cause sixteen was boys Make-up parties alcohol and clothes And saying to your boyfriend "Come on get out of bed Look, its three o clock in the afternoon and my mother's coming back" And she smiled then, her eyes filled with laughter She didn't know if it was love, but it didn't really matter She called me on the phone and said "Hey get this big brother I just got rid of one boyfriend and got myself another And listen, this one drives a Jag"
She left school and boyfriends for university Three years of study for an art degree Her clothes were outrageous her hair was many colours Her work was radical and so were her ideas She said "This is brilliant this place is heaven On a score of one to ten, I'd give this place eleven It kicks you up the ass and it fires you with ambition I often used to feel as if my life was just a prison Now I realise it isn't quite that bad"
I was invited to an exhibition a little while ago To an art gallery in Paris where she has a studio She looked sophisticated she was wearing a bronze tan And she'd sold all her work for some outrageous sum And I looked at her and I started laughing I said look you're supposed to be an artist you're supposed to be suffering And she just smiled back and pointed to this painting Of a young girl around which she'd written out this poem She'd shown me once called Poetry & Jazz
My name is Angela I am twelve years old I've given up on working hard and doing as I'm told I see a child psychologist who's spotted in my head A recipe for delinquency or something just as bad But I'll fight for my independence I see the world in another way to my teachers and my parents My priorities are different and my life is not as aimless I am not disruptive and I'm not dangerous I've rhythm and purpose like poetry & jazz
She said "It's hard for me to explain to you, the brightness of the light I can still remember when my life was like that A real and painless beauty I remember as a kid When I thought that I knew everything and in a way I did
Smokey Mountain Rain Composer(s): Kye Fleming; Dennis Morgan Performer(s): Ronnie Milsap; T.G. Sheppard
I found my way from LA back to Knoxville I found out those bright lights aint where I belong From a phone booth in the rain I called to tell her I've had a change of dreams I'm comin' home But tears filled my eyes when I found out she was gone
Smokey Mountain rain keeps on fallin' I keep on callin' her name Smokey Mountain rain I'll keep on searchin' I can't go on hurtin' this way She's somewhere in the Smokey Mountain rain
I waved a diesel down outside of Cathey He said that he was goin' as far a Catlenburgh I climbed up in the cab all wet and cold and lonely I wiped my eyes and told him about her I've got to find her! Can you make these big wheels burn?
Smokey Mountain rain keeps on fallin' I keep on callin' her name Smokey Mountain rain I'll keep on searchin' I can't go on hurtin' this way She's somewhere in the Smokey Mountain rain
I can't blame her for lettin' go A woman needs someone warm to hold I feel the rain runnin' down my face I'll find her no matter what it takes!
Smokey Mountain rain keeps on fallin' I keep on callin' her name Smokey Mountain rain I'll keep on searchin' I can't go on hurtin' this way She's somewhere in the Smokey Mountain rain

Smokey Mountain Boy Composer(s): Lenore Rosenblatt; Victor Millrose Performer(s): Elvis Presley
I'm just a Smokey mountain boy Come back to the hills I love Where the tops of pine all bend in the wind And the deep blue sky above
The closer and closer I get to home The more excited I am Those were the mornings I'd roll out of bed Start the day off with a hot corn bread Smothered in huckleberry jam
I'm just a Smokey mountain boy Come back to the hills I love Where the tops of pine all bend in the wind And the deep blue sky above
I can almost hear the hounds running through the woods Close on the trail of the hare How I long to be with them following the hounds a-huntin' again Gettin' me a big old grizzly bear
I'm just a Smokey mountain boy Come back to the hills I love Where the tops of pine all bend in the wind And the deep blue sky above
I traveled around and met lots of girls No matter how many I see I left some pretty ones behind I know back home is where I'll find The girl whose love is meant for me
I'm just a Smokey mountain boy Come back to the hills I love Where the tops of pine all bend in the wind And the deep blue sky above

Toi, La Musique Et Moi Composer(s): Gilbert Sinoué; Georges Costa; R. Guitton First performance by: Mary Cristy - 1976

Smoke Rings Composer(s): Gene Gifford Performer(s): The Mills Brothers
Tell me where do they go These smoke rings I blow each night? What do they do these circles of blue and white? And why do they seem to picture a dream of love? Why do they fade my phantom parade of love?
Where do they end, the smoke rings I send on high? Where are they hurled when they've kissed the world good-bye? Oh, I'd give my life to laugh at this stife below I'd be a king, I'd follow each ring I blow
Puff, puff, puff, puff your cares away Puff, puff, puff night and day Blow, blow them through the air, silky little rings Blow, blow them ev'rywhere, give your troubles wings
What do they tell and what is the spell they cast? Some of them fall and seem to recall the past But most of them rise away to the skies of blue Oh, little smoke rings I love Please take me above, take me with you
Poems, Prayers And Promises Composer(s): John Denver Performer(s): John Denver; and various other artists
I've been lately thinking about my life's time All the things I've done and how it's been And I can't help believin' in my own mind I know I'm gonna hate to see it end I've seen a lot of sunshine, slept out in the rain Spent a night or two all on my own I've known my lady's pleasures had myself some friends Spent a time or two in my own home
I have to say it now it's been a good life, all in all It's really fine to have a chance to hang around Lie there by the fire and watch the evening tire While all my friends and my old lady, sit and pass a pipe around (alt- sit and watch the sun go down) And talk of poems and prayers and promises And things that we believe in How sweet it is to love someone How right it is to care How long it's been since yesterday What about tomorrow and what about our dreams And all the memories we share
Days they pass so quickly now, the nights are seldom long Time around me whispers when it's cold The changes somehow frightens me, still I have to smile It turns me on to think of growing old Although my life's been good to me, there's still so much to do So many things my mind has never known I'd like to raise a family, I'd like to sail away And dance across the mountains on the moon
I have to say it now it's been a good life, all in all It's really fine to have a chance to hang around Lie there by the fire and watch the evening tire While all my friends and my old lady, sit and pass a pipe around (alt.: sit and watch the world turn 'round) And talk of poems and prayers and promises And things that we believe in How sweet it is to love someone How right it is to care How long it's been since yesterday What about tomorrow and what about our dreams And all the memories we share
