Le Jour Où Je Deviendrai Gros
    Composer(s): Jean Ferrat
    Performer(s): Jean Ferrat

    Séchez vos pleurs belles maîtresses
Nous ne nous choquerons plus les os
Voici venir des jours de liesse
    Voici venir l'amour nouveau
Sur mes genoux comme à confesse
Vous pourrez vous tenir au chaud

Le jour le jour le jour le jour
    Où je deviendrai gros

    Plus s'agrandira ma bedaine
    Plus s'amoindrira mon cerveau
    Comme Jeanne filant la laine
Entendait les voix du très haut
    Plût à vous vierges souveraines
Que je ne sois qu'un peu dévot

Le jour le jour le jour le jour
    Où je deviendrai gros

Tous les soirs au café de France
    Devant mon troisième pernod
    À des notables d'importance
    Je réciterai mon crédo
Que je suis fier de notre France
    De ses bourgeois et généraux

Le jour le jour le jour le jour
    Où je deviendrai gros

    La rosette à la boutonnière
    Je saluerai bas le drapeau
    J'écouterai les légionnaires
Chanter le temps du sable chaud
    En versant des larmes amères
    Sur nos colonies, les salauds

Le jour le jour le jour le jour
    Où je deviendrai gros

Le doute se glisse en mon âme
Me met des frissons dans le dos
C'est le régime que ma femme
    Voudra m'imposer illico
    Devrai-je vivre autant de drames
    Que je mangerai de perdreaux

Le jour le jour le jour le jour
    Où je deviendrai gros

Puisque contre moi tout se ligue
    Comment choisir entre deux maux
    Etre un semblant d'escartefigue
Ou bien rester dedans ma peau
Si je suis gras comme une figue
Je serai con comme un pruneau

Le jour le jour le jour le jour
    Où je deviendrai gros

    La Bonne Du Curé
Composer(s): Charles Leval - Tont Montoya - Tony Roval
    Performer(s): Annie Cordy

Ça me gratouille, ça me chatouille, ça me donn' des idées

Ça me gratouille, ça me chatouille, ça me donn' des idées
    J'fais qu'des bêtises derrièr' l'église
    J'peux point m'en empêcher
Dieu me pardonne j'suis la bonn' du curé

    J'voudrais bien mais j'peux point
Quand c'est la fête j'en perds la tête
    J'voudrais ben aller danser

Ça me gratouille, ça me chatouille, ça me donn' des idées
    J'fais qu'des bêtises derrièr' l'église
    J'peux point m'en empêcher
Dieu me pardonne j'suis la bonn' du curé

    Billy Dee
    Composer(s): Kris Kristofferson
    Performer(s): Kris Kristofferson

Billy dee was seventeen when he turned twenty-one
Fooling with some foolish things he could’ve left alone
But he had to try to satisfy a thirst he couldn’t name
Driven towards the darkness by the devil in his veins
All around the honky tonks, searching for a sign
Gettin’ by on gettin’ high on women, words and wine
Some folks called him crazy, lord, and others called him free
But we just called us lucky for the love of billy dee

Busy goin’ his own way and speakin’ his own words
Facin’ and forgettin’ every warnin’ that he heard
Makin’ friends and takin’ any crazy chance he could
Gettin’ busted for the bad times and believin’ in the good
Billy took a beatin’ from a world he meant no harm
The score was written in the scars up on his arm
Some felt he was payin’ for the life he tried to lead
But all we felt was sorry for our good friend billy dee

It may be his soul was bigger than a body’s oughta be
Singin’ songs and bringin’ laughter to the likes of you and me
Cause the world he saw was sadder than the one he hoped to find
But it wasn’t near as lonesome as the one he left behind
Yesterday they found him on the floor of his hotel
Reachin’ towards the needle, lord, that drove him down to hell
Some folks called it suicide, others blame the speed
But we all called it crucified when billy dee o.d.’d

    Le Jour Le Plus Long
((English Version: The Longest Day (by Paul Anka))
Composer(s): Paul Anka - Eddy Marnay
    Performer(s): Dalida; Burt Random

Billy Broke My Heart At Walgreens (I Cried All The Way To Sears)
    Performer(s): Ruby Wright

    (Pete Drake's "Talking Guitar"
Billy broke my heart at Walgreens
and I cried all the way to Sears)

Over a drink with those who think young
    I got the sad news
While having lunch, Billy walked in
    Told me goodbye
He wanted his ring back, for he told me
There'd be no wedding this year
Billy broke my heart at Walgreens
And then I cried all the way to Sears

    (Pete Drake's "Talking Guitar"
Billy broke my heart at Walgreens
and I cried all the way to Sears)

I hear my boss still laughin' at me
    But I don't blame him
Silly of me for asking of him
    May I go home?
Well this could be the funniest
    Heartbreak of the year
Billy broke my heart at Walgreens
And then I cried all the way to Sears

What made the pain more painful
I hurt each step of the way
    Traffic lights and fears
Weeped lots of tears, getting in my way
I'd fall down, then I'd get up
    While slippin' on my tears
Billy broke my heart at Walgreens
And then I cried all the way to Sears

I'd fall down, then I'd get up
    While slippin' on my tears
Billy broke my heart at Walgreens
And then I cried all the way to Sears

    The Longest Day
((French Version: Le Jour Le Plus Long (by Dalida))
    Composer(s): Paul Anka
    Performer(s): Paul Anka

Many men came here as soldiers
Many men will pass this way
Many men will count the hours
As they live the longest day

Many men are tired and weary
Many men are here to stay
Many men won't see the sunset
When it ends the longest day

The longest day the longest day
This will be the longest day
Filled with hopes and filled with fears
Filled with blood and sweat and tears

    Many men the mighty thousands
    Many men to victory
    Marching on right into battle
In the longest day in history

    Billy Boy
    (Traditional)

Oh, where have you been, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Oh, where have you been, Charming Billy?
I have been to seek a wife, she's the joy of my whole life
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

Where does she live, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Oh, where does she live, Charming Billy?
She lives on the hill, forty miles from the mill
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

Did she bid you to come in, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Did she bid you to come in, Charming Billy?
Yes, she bade me to come in, there's a dimple in her chin
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

Did she take your hat, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Did she take your hat, Charming Billy?
Yes, she took my hat and she threw it at the cat
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

Did she set for you a chair, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Did she set for you a chair, Charming Billy?
Yes, she set for me a chair, she has ringlets in her hair
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

Can she cook and can she spin, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Can she cook and can she spin, Charming Billy?
She can cook and she can spin, she can do most anything
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

Can she bake a cherry pie, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Can she bake a cherry pie, Charming Billy?
She can bake a cherry pie, quick as a cat can wink her eye
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

Can she make a feather bed, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Can she make a feather bed, Charming Billy?
She can make a feather bed and put pillows at the head
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

Can she make a pudding well, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Can she make a pudding well, Charming Billy?
She can make a pudding well, I can tell it by the smell
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

Can she milk a heifer calf, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Can she milk a heifer calf, Charming Billy?
Yes, she can, and not miss the bucket more than half
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

Is she often seen at church, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Is she often seen at church, Charming Billy?
Yes, she's often seen at church, with her bonnet white as birch
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

And is she very tall, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
And is she very tall, Charming Billy?
She's as tall as any pine, and as straight as a pumpkin vine
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

Are her eyes very bright, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Are her eyes very bright, Charming Billy?
Yes, her eyes are very bright, but alas, they're minus sight
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

Can she sing a pretty song, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Can she sing a pretty song, Charming Billy?
She can sing a pretty song, but she often sings it wrong
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

How old may she be, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
How old may she be, Charming Billy?
Three times six and four times seven, twenty-eight and eleven
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

Is she fit to be a wife, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Is she fit to be a wife, Charming Billy?
She's as fit to be a wife as a fork fits to a knife
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

    Le Jour J, L'heure H
    Performer(s): Johnny Hallyday

    Depuis que tu m'as quitté
    Je ne pense plus
    Qu'au bonheur perdu
    Car je voudrais me marier

    Mais j'espère enfin
    Que le printemps prochain
    J'aurai la joie de rêver
    Dans tes bras
    Si tu reviens
    Finis tous mes chagrins
    L'amour reprendra tous ses droits

    Je lis dans ta lettre
Chérie, attends-moi, parle-moi aussi de toi
    A bientôt peut-être?
    Et quand ce jour viendra
Mon cœur sera fou de joie

Car je ne dirai plus jamais
    Oui lorsque tu reviendras

Composer(s): Marcel Amont - Jacques Revaux
    Performer(s): Marcel Amont

Le jour de mes seize printemps
Tandis qu'au loin battait la fête
    Nous volions sur nos bicyclettes
Et nous riions à pleines dents
Le jour de mes seize printemps
    Je n'étais guère entreprenant
    Mais prenais l'allure distraite
    Quand je fumais les cigarettes
Des veinards qui avaient vingt ans
    L'air faraud je faisais semblant
    De cacher des passes secrètes
    Quand je taquinais Marinette
Le jour de mes seize printemps

Le jour de mes trente-cinq étés
    Ma fille souffla mes chandelles
    Ma mère souriait auprès d'elle
    Ma femme éclatait de beauté
Le jour de mes trente-cinq étés
Je voyais au fond de leurs yeux
Tant d'amour et de joie tranquille
Que les tumultes de la vie
Me berçaient comme un chant heureux
    J'avais les tempes argentées
    Il se dessinait quelques rides
Mais le ciel était tout limpide
Le jour de mes trente-cinq étés

Le jour de mes soixante automnes
Je me disais mon vieux gamin
    Me rendra-t-il sexagénaire
    Aurai-je l'art d'être grand-père
    Saurai-je parler au passé
Le temps fuit et n'oublie personne
    Mes vingt printemps c'était hier
Le temps reflue comme une mer

    Billy
    Composer(s): Justin Hayward
    Performer(s): Justin Hayward

Billy left home one morning, he walked right out the
    Door
He said goodbye to his former life, and he never came
    Back no more
Oh billy... there's anger in your heart
Oh billy... there's madness in your eyes

He took his favourite handgun, with his rifle he felt
    Free
He cleaned them all the night before, he was armed as
    He could be
Oh billy... there s anger in your heart
Oh billy... there's sadness in your eyes

    'cos it's a sad world, where there's no-one
Who can reach out, to the source of your pain
Yes it's a sad world, such a sad sad world
When only peace comes, at the end of a gun
    Whoa.. oh

He found the tallest building, like a bird's nest in the
    Sky
He shed a tear as he took his aim, at the people passing
    By
Oh billy... there's anger in your heart
Oh billy... there's sadness in your eyes

    Well it's a sad world, where there's no-one
Who can reach out, to the source of your pain
Yes it's a sad world, such a sad sad world
When only peace comes, at the end of a gun
    Whoa... oh

Before he pulled the trigger, he knelt as if to pray
And at the top of the church he will never be found
Since he took his life that day
Oh billy... there's anger in your heart
Ah billy... there's sadness in your eyes

'cos it's a sad world, where there's no one
Who can reach out, to the source of your pain
Yes it's a sad world, such a sad sad world
When only peace comes, at the end of a gun
    Yes it's a sad world, when there's no-one
Who can hold you when you just need to cry
    And it's a sad sad world when there's no-one
Who would care if, if you live or you die
And it's a sad world, such a sad sad world
    It's a sad world

Le Jouet Extraordinaire (Zip! Bap! Brrr!)
((Adapted from: The Marvelous Toy (by Tom Paxton) - 1962))
Composer(s): Tom Paxton - Vline Buggy - Claude François
    Performer(s): Claude François - 1966
    and multiple other artists

    The Marvelous Toy
((French Version: Le Jouet Extraordinaire (Zip! Bap! Brrr!) (by Claude François) - 1966))
    Composer(s): Tom Paxton
First release by: Tom Paxton - 1962
    Covered by multiple other artists

When I was just a wee little lad
    Full of health and joy
My father homeward came one night
And gave to me a toy
A wonder to behold it was
    With many colors bright
And the moment I laid eyes on it
    It became my heart's delight

It went "Zip" when it moved and "Pop" when it stopped
    "Whirrr" when it stood still
I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will

The first time that I picked it up
    I had a big surprise
'Cause right on the bottom were two big buttons
That looked like big green eyes
I first pushed one and then the other,
    Then I twisted its lid
And when I set it down again, here is what it did

It went "Zip" when it moved and "Pop" when it stopped
    "Whirrr" when it stood still
I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will

It first marched left, and then marched right
And then marched under a chair
And when I looked where it had gone
    It wasn't even there
I started to cry, but my daddy laughed
'Cause he knew that I would find
When I turned around my marvelous toy
    Would be chugging from behind

It went "Zip" when it moved and "Pop" when it stopped
    "Whirrr" when it stood still
I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will

The years have gone by too quickly it seems
I have my own little boy
And yesterday I gave to him
    My marvelous little toy
His eyes nearly popped right out of his head
And he gave a squeal of glee!
Neither one of us knows just what it is
But he loves it just like me!

    It still goes ...

It went "Zip" when it moved and "Pop" when it stopped
    "Whirrr" when it stood still
I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will

    Composer(s): Willie Dixon

I got bills, bills, bills and more bills
Bills, bills, bills and more bills
And when you think your bills are through
Uncle Sam is right there waitin' on you
I got bills, bills, bills and more bills
Bills for my car, I got bills for my clothes
If I don't pay soon I'm gonna be outdoors
Bills for my min, I got bills for my shoes
So many bills, I don't know what to do
I got bills, bills, bills and more bills
Bills, bills, bills and more bills
And when you think your bill sare through
Uncle Sam is right there waitin' on you
I got bills, bills, bills and more bills

Went to my friend the other day
    I said I can't do a thing, I got bills to pay
A bill for my furniture, I got a bill for my gas
A bill for my light, how long can it last?
I got bills, bills, bills and more bills
Bills, bills, bills and more bills
And when you think your bill sare through
Uncle Sam is right there waitin' on you
I got bills, bills, bills and more bills

Bill for my watch, I got bill for my ring
So many bills I can't do a thing
A bill for my man, I got bills for my honey
I can't get income upon my alimony
I got bills, bills, bills and more bills
Bills, bills, bills and more bills
And when you think your bill sare through
Uncle Sam is right there waitin' on you
I got bills, bills, bills and more bills

It's A Freezing In El Paso
    Composer(s): Billy Joe Shaver
    Performer(s): Bobby Bare

I can hear the footsteps walkin' by my bedside
    Lord she's leavin'
I can smell her perfume driftin' through my room
If I try to make her stay
I'd know she couldn't even hear me
Might as well be on the darkside of the Moon
'Cause it's freezin' in El Paso in the summer
All the sweet things here are dyin' on the vine
Wish that woman could have took it when the hard times came around
Wish her winter hadn't spoil my summertime

So when her plane takes off for Memphis
I'll be sittin' in some tavern
I'll be washin' out the corners of my mind
When she's in the wild blue yonder
I'll be feedin' that old jukebox
Playin' every happy song that I can find
'Cause it's freezin' in El Paso...

    Billion Dollar Babies
Composer(s): Michael Bruce; Alice Cooper; Neal Smith
    Performer(s): Alice Cooper
    and various other artists

    Billion dollar baby
Rubber little lady, slicker than a weasel
    Grimy as an alley
Loves me like no other lover

    Billion dollar baby
Rotten little monster, baby, I adore you
Man or woman living couldn't love me like you, baby

We go dancing nightly in the attic
While the moon is rising in the sky
If I'm too rough, tell me
I'm so scared your little head will come off in my hands

    Yeah, billion dollar baby
I got you in the dime store
No other little girl could ever hold you
Any tighter, any tighter than me, baby
    Billion dollar baby
Reckless like a gambler, million dollar maybe
Foaming' like dog that's been infected by the rabies

We go dancing nightly in the attic
While the moon is rising in the sky
If I'm too rough, tell me
I'm so scared your little head will come off in my hands

    Million dollar baby
    Billion dollar baby
    Trillion dollar baby
    Zillion dollar baby

47 Miles (To The Georgia Line)
Composer(s): Jack Blanchard - Misty Morgan
Performer(s): Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan

The sun's comin' up behind a cloud, I hope it doesn't rain
Somewhere near I can hear the rumble of a train
I drove all night, but that's all right, I'll soon be feelin' fine
I'm only forty-seven Miles from the Georgia line

Up above the trees the birds all head for warmer weather
They don't know the warm love glow when we get back together
I cried all night, but that's all right, you made it just in time
You're only forty-seven miles from the Georgia line

We're a little bit wiser, a little bit older
Now we know that life without love is a whole lot colder
Been a long time comin' home, can't wait till I get you alone
There's only forty-seven miles to the Georgia line

The sun is gone behind a cloud, the sky is turning gray
I've been saving all my love for this rainy day
I'll be watchin' for you at the door, beneath the Georgia pines
There's only forty-seven miles to the Georgia line
